@sv2611 : Nice post. The serial ETR2 is not based on the Maharani of Jaipur. A common name does not signify anything. Inspired, probably yes. For that era, she was modern in her outlook, thoughts and educated. And very beautiful too. In some photographs I always felt that she has the gorgeous Ingrid Bergman looks!! The Maharani herself had stated in one of her interviews that if ever a film is made on her life, she would like Ash to play her role. 😊 Beauty cannot be skin deep.
I reserve further comments till I watch the episode tonight...

Gayatri the tease for once was tongue tied ...Ranaji in action 😆

Haaye!

How they started out!

He pulled her in as if she were his partner in crime.😆 G couldn't control her laughter at his plight...She tries to unsettle him further with the balsakha dialogue...even suggests his nose was getting longer..😆 How he controlled his anger and asked her to buzz off...🤣..which G took as a dare...

Much like RNJ accepted her challenge with the necklace and the payal the day before.

She sets out all business like..it is a chore she is trying to excel in..RNJ feels her all around him..all over him..from the moment she first touched him.❤️

Gaytri feels the intimacy of the moment when she has to tuck in the dhoti at the back..by the time she comes around to the front, she is aware...of him.

How he steps forward to help her with the final tuck in😳...and how she pushes him back...she wouldn't be able to complete this part of the task.

THE NOD! 😆 What an epic nod! Was it a plea or a command? Or a favour he requested...that she was not able to meet...RNJ turns several shades naughtier...he would not let go of the hand that refused to comply with his request...he watches her squirm in embarrassment...until he lets her go...and finishes off the art of dhoti tying.
A giggle outside the corridor...Gayatri is saved from the awkwardness of the moment...😉

And the finishing touch to the scene...Aap yeh kurta pehen lijiye...aap pehna dijiye!😲 😆

RNJ looked like a little boy who wanted every whim and fancy to be catered to...a total attention seeker- shameless at that too!😛 😆

Thanx, Shwets for the collages. 🤗

The difference between teh two touches!

The first one was unfeeling, business like..'Just stand there!'and the second one was shy, imploring...'please stand there, OK? Can't handle it if U get too near me'.😉

What an excellent piece of writing and direction! 👏👏👏

PS: What is this swades dhoti scene, anyone? 😳

The best thing about the three foreplay sequences that we have seen in this show is that they have a purpose in the script. They are not fantasies inserted purely with an intent to grab eyeballs.
I am glad that they are not going the fantasy route. At least they haven't after G's temple fantasy. They've kept it all very real. Not that real people don't fantasize. But here, intimacy has been used as a story telling tool to showcase the progression in their relationship. These three back to back scenes have been handled so well, with so much finesse, and the intent of each is different from the other.

Gotta give the creatives credit...and the actors...for being spectacularly successful in their attempt...each of these scenes have made RNJ and G come alive for me...they are honest in their expression of desire...no faking...and that is a big, big thing in desi TV!

Thanks for this,Shwets...

Yes, there is a man, woman and a dhoti in that scene...but the intent and purpose to the scenes are so far apart that comparing them would make no sense..at least to me...not even SRK would say his scene was better because the two scenes are quite dissimilar in treatment and context except for the FL helping the ML with the dhoti...

For one, the sensuality quotient in the show's scene was a zillion times more than in the Swades scene..but that was simply because the Swades scene was not meant to be sensual at all...

I have already waxed eloquent about the dhoti scene..

And Chick has given a beautiful interpretation to the wonderful collage Shweta's made and shared...

Kudos to Sid and Drashti once again...am sorry to get repetitive but their free and frank interpretation of desire is not something I've seen often on desi TV. Acting is being and they were in those two scenes...enough said!

The dialogue SRK uttered in the end was funny. I would love to have seen RNJ tell Gayatri something like that. The shirt dressing humor didn't make sense after Gayatri was willing enough to tie his dhoti. Why the hesitation there? Or was he trying to tell her something indirectly, that he enjoyed it so much he didn't want he process to stop.

There was some what of Romantic undercurrent in the Swades scene but it was not as blatant as oppose to what we are seeing in the show. SRK's character clearly felt something when the character was tying his dhoti but romance was not the main theme of the film it was just more of a side element. Now its based on preference on which one a person would prefer subtle romance or blatant, sugary type.

All this is very new for Ranaji and Gayatri.
They aren't a typical couple who've accepted each other neither are they completely and casually comfortable in each others presence yet hence the sexual tension is bound to be a little more blatant as physical intimacy with each other is something alien to both.
Thus the elephant in the room was acknowledged more by Ranaji in my opinion.
Though I have to say Ranaji is far from shy.

RNJ is a very sensual man...we saw that even with Sulakshana...and he has kept that side of his nature repressed for six years now...now when G has finally unlocked the floodgates, he is having a hard time controlling himself...he tried to control his expressions in the dori scene but her response to his proximity encouraged him...he tried to take it a step further in the jewellery scene when he grabbed her hand...and it has been stepping it up ever since...

G is the novice here...all of this is new to her...she dares to push the envelope...and then, her husband's powerful response both thrills and scares her...so she backs off...

They are both very honest in their expression of their feelings, even if it is not pure romance but a more visceral response to each other...I like that!
