That's why the scene from Swades works for me, because its neat and decent. The two characters here are attracted to each other but are so amazingly decent, that you can only applaud. Here the female lead is strong, educated and a subtle fire-brand. Of course, SRK and Gayatri werent desperate like Rana Deo and Gayatri! 🤣 In short, Rana Deo and Gayatri are not at all shy. That has been made quite evident.
For understanding what I mean by interpretation, this can be read (its in Hindi)

Rekha, you are absolutely entitled to your opinion...but I still maintain that you are comparing apples and oranges...so let's respectfully agree to disagree...

And just for the record, I do know what interpretation is...but thanks for the quotes that unfortunately don't show up!

S,

Did you find the Dhoti scene sugary ?😲

Di my theory is that comfort level does not increase that quickly at least mine doesnt. Where your comfortable dressing someone and flirting with them within a few days of marriage. Its been how many weeks since their wedding. I don't know how things use to work back in those days but it seemed so unnatural for someone who till yesterday was grieving about his ex-wife and a girl who was shown to be innocent and inexperienced.

Now if it was PC's character from Quantico and Ryan Boothe who were shown to be quite fast, forward and progressive since day one that would have looked natural.

Or was he trying to tell her something indirectly, that he enjoyed it so much he didn't want he process to stop.

There was some what of Romantic undercurrent in the Swades scene but it was not as blatant as oppose to what we are seeing in the show. SRK's character clearly felt something when the character was tying his dhoti but romance was not the main theme of the film it was just more of a side element. Now its based on preference on which one a person would prefer subtle romance or blatant, sugary type.

Thanx, Shwets.
I remember many scenes from Swades...definitely not this one. 😆 Girl is the boss here! Quite a simple scene.😊

Red,
@Bold- 😆- They were back to just pulling each other's legs.😉 The passion had been broken by bhabhi's giggle...both were back in their elements. G was still slightly embarrassed...and RNJ was in a mood to tease her more. That was also because he wanted to spend some more time with her...just spending time...joking...teasing...he is a different man with her and he enjoys that aspect she can bring out. He was also ziddi like a kid...wanting attention all the time. G found it cute and amusing...hence the blush as she left. 😳 More than hot simmering passion, it was playful and passionate...very well conceived. 👏

S,

I am with you on this ...The CV's have failed to show the viewer's slow progression of their relationship ...but then you and me know ...in daily soaps it's all about TRP's ...the original characterization in never intact unless it's a finite series or the show starts off with high TRP's ...ETR , unfortunately was neither . By no means am I justifying ...I have seen the other side also and can see their POV . Older shows things may have worked then ...but with heavy competition staying in business is not an easy task .

Exactly the slow progression is the best part in a love story you dont jump from complete ignorance to all mushy romance within days. These scenes would have been great after another 2-3 months maybe

Completely agree.I was looking forward to the whole loestory which now seems to have jumped to its last phase already which is acceptance. That so disappointing.Cvs gave failed in this aspect truly .But since they only register trps next weeks trps will speak for itself I presume.

Red,
I am just CP ing from my reply in SV's thread on RGD. I definitely don't feel the romance is rushed from her side.😳 Yes, G has not learned the proper etiquette or English yet... yet she has charmed Rana Deo...by virtue of just being herself...he accepts her as who she is...that is a huge thing in itself.👏 G is still at the same point she was when she fell in love with the king...RNJ has progressed so far...he has strayed but has come to her as the center of the circle of his life...

From SV's post-

To me, Gayatri is one step ahead of the woman of her times...she has been taught to become the salt in her sasuraal. but she knows very well how to be the mirchi in her husband's diet when the situation demands...😉or the sugar in his coffee if that is what he needs.
I feel Gayatri opens up her real self to only one person- her husband. That is because she has carried him in her heart as an idol...and even if that idol is not what it appeared to her at first, she can vouch that he is her one and only soulmate.

In the light of that, I find Gayatri's behaviour acceptable. She is a romantic- one of the traits women of those days couldn't afford, as her mother clearly told her.

Totally agree with the bold
I don't even have a major problem with Gayatri being comfortable with the closeness..she has always been in love with RNJ
RNJs change from indifference to current state in such a small time is what is difficult to digest
Acceptance and attraction are understandable, but mushy romance, mere days after crying for his dead wife..
They might have fast forwarded the romance for trps but they basically sacrificed the most enjoyable phase of a love story..slow burn romance..and a chance to develop a story
Let's see how much trps they garner with this

[QUOTE=DanseuseHe can wake up in the middle of the night after an awesome sensual rendezvous with Gayatri and yell,"Sulakshana! Oh Sulakshana!" What a tragedy. 😃
