Chapter 1
He walks into the house weary... The house is dimly lit... dropping his briefcase and coat on the sofa... He heads towards the kitchen to get himself some dinner. Seeing the light on he wonders who is awake at this time. Frowning he glances at the wall clock that chimes one o'clock.
Seeing her heating his dinner... His heart skips a beat... he whispers, his voice hoarse, filled with emotion,"you shouldn't have." Turning towards him... She gives him a radiant smile... She says playfully,"You are right. I shouldn't have." Her doe shaped eyes piercing into his soul... Leaving him gasping for air. Not realising the effect she has on him, she turns away, her focus back on the food and says, chuckling, "now that I have... How about you freshen up before I serve."
He watches her serve him... His heart racing into dangerous territories... The what if.. The if only... Territories. He shuts his eyes, trying to reign in some control... Before his heart believes in a world that does not exist.
She sits by his side while he eats... Conversing... Him about his present... Her about her dreams and aspirations. With a smile, she says goodbye and heads out of the house... Across the lawn... Towards the outhouse.
He stands by the open glass door... Watching her walk away... His gaze following her every step... His heart fills with yearning... Whispering... I love you. She stops at her entrance... Forcing her beating heart to still... She turns towards the house... Waves politely then steps into her home. She leans behind the closed door... Allowing herself to feel the rush of emotions that refuse to be held at bay any longer... The back of her neck still tingling away from awareness of his presence... Of his gaze... Her heart whispering... I love you.
With a sigh, he stares into the dark sky, mentally cursing himself for falling in love with another... his memories rushing into the past... to a year ago... the night she was fighting for her life... the night his world came crashing down when he realised that his love and affection for her ran very very deep... that she was more than just Kamla maa's daughter... somehow she had crept into his heart and had made it her permanent home. Her listless body as she lay on the hospital bed was something he could not overcome. There and then he had decided that she would never use public transport or walk. He had insisted that she use one of the cars and drivers. He was thankful to his wife for convincing her to accept the offer.
Ragav breaks away from his memories as he chokes on guilt... his mind chanting... I have a wife... I have a wife. He looks towards the outhouse one last time... his heart calling out in anguish... KALPI. He shuts his eyes... internally battling with emotions... his love for her versus his guilt for his wife... and as always responsibility and commitment wins.
P.S: sunyy for you... added to my tincy wincy chapter😆
