Chapter 7: Confidants

Kalpi reflexively touches her maang, overwhelmed by Ragav's gesture.

Sammy walks in and finds Ragav and Kalpi crouched next to each other on the floor, lost into each other. Chuckling he clears his throat loudly, breaking the spell Ragav and Kalpi stand up. Sammy is pleased to see a relaxed Ragav in front of him and thanks God for Kalpi.

Kalpi heads towards the bedroom when Ragav holds her hand to stop her. He waits for her to turn, looks into her eyes and with a hoarse voice that is filled with emotion says "Don't wash it off."

Curious, Sammy looks around Raghav towards Kalpi. It is then that he notices Kalpi's filled maang and thinks to himself "Yeh Ragav bhi... doesn't know how to wait when he wants something."

Kalpi blushingly releases her hand and walks away whispering "You are mad." As she reaches the bedroom door, she turns and finds Raghav looking at her a smouldering look, so lost in his passion for her. She blushes again and heads into the bedroom.

Raghav and Sammy are soaking up the sun on the terrace and chatting away. Sammy is happy to see that Raghav is relaxed and composed when Kalpi walks towards them anxiously and says "Ragav I can't find my phone, I must have left it when I hurried over. Aai and baba must be frantic with worry. I did not inform them when I left and I have never been away from home all night" she completes blushingly.

Raghav looks at Kalpi anxiously and thinks to himself "Oh gosh! I totally forgot about them." He quickly looks at his phone, surprised to see no miscalls. He wonders aloud "Why has your aai or baba not called me or Sammy!"

Sammy chuckles aloud, grins at them and sates calmly "Raghav that is because... after Kalpi came over, I called Kamla maa, apologised and explained to her that Kalpi was needed as there was a work emergency with regards to one of our projects. I informed her that it might be an all nighter and not to worry as the three of us would be working from your home."

Raghav bursts out laughing as he puts his arm around Kalpi and says "Quick thinking. Thank you." Kalpi brushes Ragav's arm of her shoulder, puts her hands on her hips and exaggeratedly huffs and says "You are thanking him for lying to my aai." Raghav rests his arms on her shoulders, leans towards her and stares right into her eyes and says "Our aai". Kalpi overwhelmed by his words breaks into a grin and gives him a tight hug.

She takes Ragav's phone and goes into the house to call her aai. She tells her aai that as soon as she is done with work she will come home. She disconnects before her aai can respond, feeling guilty for her lies.

Ragav calls out to Kalpi and tells her to come over as he wants to have some important discussions with both Sammy and her.

After a lengthy discussion, Kalpi goes off to prepare lunch. She immediately rushes back and says "Ragav, I need to tell you something." Not waiting for Raghav to respond, she immediately continues "Aai thinks you proposed for Pakhi and that you want to marry Pakhi. she has already informed Pakhi about it."

Raghav looks at Kalpi stunned for never in his wildest dreams did he imagine hearing such words. In utter disbelief he says incoherently " What... How... Why..."

Kalpi continues "I have corrected aai's misunderstanding. I told aai and baba that we love each other and that you want to marry me. But Raghav we will have to postpone the wedding..." Raghav interrupts forcefully with one word "NO." He calms himself and continues "No postponement, in fact I want the wedding date to be brought forward."

"But Ragav" Kalpi continues pleadingly, hoping that he would understand "Please understand that aai thought that you want to marry Pakhi and because of aai, Pakhi thinks you want to marry her. I know it's a misunderstanding. Please give me some time to help aai clear this misunderstanding with Pakhi." Ragav glares at her stonily, his eyes speaking volumes.

Kalpi glares back and says forcefully "How am I supposed to be happy on my wedding day, knowing that I am hurting someone." And walks back into the house. With a sigh she continues preparing lunch, all the while thinking what is she going to do now. It was obvious from the look Ragav gave her, he was never going to agree to extending the wedding date.

As Sammy gets up to leave after the delicious lunch his bhabhi prepared, with which he teases Kalpi; Ragav calls out "See you within the hour" and shares a conspirational look with Sammy. Kalpi notices this and looks curiously at Raghav. Raghav turns and gives her an innocent smiles and thinks to himself "You take care of others, I will take care of you".

questions

1) what are the 7 vows? when u do the pheras - is the vow before, during or after the phera

2)which phera do they swap places?

3) who says which vow?

4)order of the procedure - mangalsutra, sindoor, pheras

5) Any specific God you have to marry infront of. Can I use Ganpatiji?

6)anything else that is important and i have missed out

I just need some information, so that there is some authenticity.
