Actually I have also seen it in my bro's marriage only n dere they just took the name of home god n started with the rituals...

But s I think Lord Parvati is surely workshipped by saying "Sarva mangla... ... Namostuthe" Shloka...

Chapter 8: Pledges

Raghav takes Kalpi's hand into his and head towards the terrace saying "Kalpi, I want to talk to you"

Kalpi lets Raghav lead her to the terrace wondering what he wants to talk about. Raghav sits on the terrace floor, his back supported by the wall, pulling her along with him. She sits between his legs and rests her back and head on his chest as his arms circle her waist. They sit like that for some moments, content in being in each other's arms.

Ragav places his hand under Kalpi's chin and turns her to face him, pulling her towards him and kisses her. He places his hand around her shoulder as she leans into his chest and rests her head on his shoulder. Both content with the peacefulness in the atmosphere.

Raghav breaks the silence and says softly "Kalpi, I want to talk to you about our wedding. Kalpi lifts her head from his shoulder and looks into his eyes, eyes that are shining with the intensity of his love for her. She interrupts him, only to have him place his right index finger on her lips... stopping her and continues on softly "I have given some thought to what you said and I understand where you are coming from. Kalpi, you too need to understand where I am coming from." He stops, he is slightly apprehensive not knowing how to continue. "What would be the right words" he thinks to himself.

Kalpi smiles at him reassuringly and tells him not to worry and continue, that there was nothing he could say that would upset her. He smiles reassured and continues "Kalpi, I want to protect you."

He thinks to himself "What if something were to happen to me. He did not trust Sahil Kapoor, he was capable of anything. After finding out that about the attempts to his mother's life, anything could happen. He needed to keep his Kalpi safe, always."

He looks at Kaalpi and continues "After last night, you might be pregnant. I couldn't bear it if somebody hurt you because of me. Last night I took advantage..."

Kalpi shakes her head and is about to interrupt him again, not wanting him to continue; when Ragav lifts his hand, using the universal gesture to say stop. Kalpi bites her lip to stop herself from speaking, knowing his need to complete what he needs to get off his chest. Ragav, distracted by her gesture, stares into her eyes with smouldering passion for some seconds. He looks down at their hands... hands that are interlocked into each other and clears his throat, looks back at her now that his passion is more in control and continues "I will always be honest with you, Kalpi. I took advantage of you... of your love... of your trust."

"I have thought of a solution that will suit both of us." Ragav says. Kalpi looks on confused at first, then breaks into a smile and hugs him as Ragav explains his idea. Once he finishes his explanation, Kalpi take his hand into hers and lifts his hand and kisses the inside of his palm. Her eyes shining with love for him, she says " Thank you."

Sammy is busy with the finishing touches of the mandap that he has set up in the sitting room while Ragav thanks the pandit and the court's legal representative for coming over in such short notice to officiate his and Kalpi's marriage before God and country.

The bedroom door opens, Ragav turns... his smile frozen... his bride...his eyes simmering the intensity of his love for her as he walks towards her and he holds out his hand. With equal intensity she looks up at him as she places her hand in his.

Seated at the mandap with the agni in front of them, Raghav takes out a thick black thread from his pocket and with a slightly apologetic smile towards Kalpi, he ties the mangalsutra around her neck. Ragav and Kalpi hand in hand, lost into each other; walk around the agni giving their pledges to one another. Each taking their turn to lead the other around the agni.

With each round, they say " I pledge... "

1^st pledge

Ragav : "... to always love you more than life itself, for you are my life"

Kalpi: "... your aai is my aai and no harm will befall her in my presence"

2^nd pledge

Ragav: "... to always stand by you, my strength and courage is yours for the taking"

Kalpi: "... to always support you, be your pillar of strength in your time of need"

3^rd pledge

Ragav: "... I love only you"

Kalpi: "... I love only you"

4^th pledge

Ragav: "... your aai and baba are my aai and baba"

Kalpi: "... your aai is my aai"

5^th pledge

Ragav: "... to fill your life with happiness"

Kalpi: "... to fill your life with happiness"

6^th pledge

Ragav: "... to fill your life with pleasure and peace"

Kalpi: "... to fill your life with pleaseure and peace"

7^th pledge

Ragav:"... you complete me"

Kalpi: "... you complete me"

He then takes the sindoor the pandit places before him and fills Kalpi's maang once again and thinks to himself "Mrs. Kalpi Raghav Singhania"
