Part 8

Kalpi fell asleep as she sat there watching him; holding his hand. She suddenly realized that he was waking up, and when she looked at the clocked almost 2 hours have past. He opened his eyes looking at her with so much love, and squeezed her hand telling her he is so grateful that he has her in his life and nothing bad can happen to him when she is by his side. She smiled admiring his gratitude, thinking finally she has her Raghav back, when she suddenly remembered that picture in the cupboard. Kalpi was not sure if this was the right time to ask him, as he was just starting to look and feel better, but her curiosity got the better of her, fearful of what the answer would be, she was stammering. Raghav held her hand tightly and told her she can ask him anything, he loves her dearly and that will not change. She eventually built up the courage and told him that when she was looking for a towel/cloth to use with the water, and the fact that she had without his permission opened his cupboard, before she could continue, he told her that it was not a problem, as whatever is his, is hers too. She smiled listening to his words, but then continued to tell him, that she saw a picture of a lady, and wanted to know who that was, she could see that the smile on his face vanished and he turned his head away from her, telling her that its nobody of importance. She insisted that he tell her, and what he said next shocked her completely. He told her that the lady in the picture is his mother, and she left him years ago, and he has since not seen or heard from her. She was beside herself in shock, thinking that if she saw right, as the lady in the picture is the lady that is at her home, and she has had loss of memory. Kalpi told Raghav that maybe something happened that resulted in his mom not contacting him, if he ever considered that, he was adamant that it was her choice as what other reason would there be for a mother to leave her child.

Kalpi explained about the incidents that led to her mom bringing an unknown lady into their home, she was in safe home for about 10 years, but the room she was staying in was burnt, so she had no were else to go, so they had taken the lady home until they found another solution. She told him that the lady has no memory of her past, and therefore it is no fault of her own that she has not looked for her family, but what she could not understand was why her family was not looking for her. Raghav was confused, wondering why Kalpi is telling him this story, just then Kalpi tried to get his attention, and asked if he would be able to take her home. He obliged, thinking there was no way he was going to let her go on her own anyways. She asked again if he was sure he was feeling ok, and he was very happy to get more time with her as he really was feeling a great deal better. Sammy walked in asking if they going out, Raghav told him he is taking Kalpi home, as much as Sammy wanted to join him as he didn't want Raghav to drive back alone, he also wanted to give them time alone. So he instructed Raghav to call if he needs anything.

Neither of them knew what was awaiting them on the other side. Kalpi was nervous and this did not go unnoticed by Raghav, he held her hand and asked if everything is ok, she simply nodded. She silently prayed, that everything must work out and that all she wants is for Raghav to be happy. Even though she was nervous, part of her felt happy that the second task she had set out for herself at the beginning of the week may just be complete. As they drove up to her house, she asked for him to come up, which he found strange as she is normally very shy to allow him there. He was very happy, thinking that she was in my space today, so know she wants him in her space. Little did he know was that what he was going to see upstairs was going to change his life and clear many misunderstandings.

As she stepped into the house, she called for her mom, and informed her that Raghav has come, and as always Kamla gets happy hearing this. Kalpi asked her mom were "ma" is, and Kamla informs her that she is resting, Kalpi eagerly wants Raghav to meet her, so she goes to the lady and calls out to her, and as usual the lady gets happy to see her. Kalpi tells her that she has brought someone to meet her, and asked her to freshen up and join them, and the lady is happy to do that. Raghav is becoming impatient as he has not seen his Kalpi's face for about 5minutes now, so he started talking to Kamla to distract himself. After some time Kalpi comes out holding the arm of an elderly lady, and when Raghav looked away from Kalpi to the lady, he stood up in shock. Kalpi told the lady, this is my boss, Raghav Singhania, and the lady started repeating the name continuously and started to become worked up as she was finding some connection to the name, Raghav realised that she indeed has had loss of memory, therefore she was appearing confused upon hearing his name; as only the name will make her react and not his face as he was very young when she left them. YES, that was his mother, the lady he hated for so many years thinking she left him by choice, only to realize he was wrong. The lady started to become hysterical, and was about to faint when Raghav got out of his trance like state and ran calling out to his mum, catching her before she hit the ground. At this time Kalpi realised that this was indeed the person in the picture, Raghav's mom. Raghav looked at Kalpi in silence, and she could hear him shouting out to her saying thank you, thank you, a million times just by looking at her. Once again she could see how incredibly grateful he is to her. Kamla still could not fathom what was happening in front of her.

Raghav held his mom and cried, asking her for forgiveness, for not trying hard enough to look for her, and for giving up on her so soon. His tears falls onto his moms face, which makes regain consciousness. She looks at Raghav, and wanted to know from him if he really is Raghav Singhania, with tearful eyes he nods. The lady seems to have regained some of her memory as well, as she remembers her name, and that the person in front of her is her son, as her sons name is Raghav Singhania. He took his mom into his arms, and felt that he never wanted to let go, breaking down as he remembered all the years he misunderstood his mom. His mum embraced him, comforting him and continued reassuring him that she does not hold him responsible for anything, and that they will soon deal with the culprits at hand.
