Part One
It has been one month since she first encountered Raghav following his arrival to India, thought Kalpi as she sat alone with her thoughts on the park bench. He was so changed, so arrogant and distant. She could still remember the time; her family had helped him when he wanted to escape from the Kapoor's residence, as it was brought to their attention that they had ulterior motives and were only keeping him there so they would be able to take control of his father's business and property. When he left, he was a kind hearted person who was always there to help Kalpi. When she started working at his company, she had so much hope and could not wait to finally be close to her childhood friend again. On one hand she had no knowledge of what he went through to change him so much, and he had no idea what she went through for her to long for that bond with him. She was sent away to boarding school shortly after he left India, so they both shared similar circumstances of being alone which made them build an invisible wall protecting them from the world. The wall that Kalpi had developed around her started to develop cracks when she first met Raghav, but his arrogance soon became the agent she needed to fill up those cracks, once again securing her firm wall of protection. As Kalpi tried to figure things out, she decided that she will bring back the old Raghav as this will allow her to fill the void that she too has been carrying around. Kalpi was in deep thought when she suddenly saw an elderly lady running by, and she thought to herself that this is not the age to be exercising and that too in a sari. The thought made her chuckle a bit, which was very short lived when she spotted another women running calling out to the elderly women. She was shocked as she realised that the second lady was her mum, whom she was calling out to, but her mom didn't respond. Kalpi decided that she will follow her mum and find out what was happening. The elderly lady stopped running after some time, and Kamla too settled down next to her. Kalpi then made herself visible to her mom, whom at this point was shocked fearing the endless questions, to which she had no answers. Kalpi eventually caught her breath and enquired from her mom about the lady and why she was running after her. Kamla explained that she does not know the women's identity and was trying to assist her for the sake of humanity, as the lady has lost her memory. Vitthal and she are in the process of getting her to a safe place, but in the interim she is their responsibility. Kalpi requested her mother to bring the lady to their home as she will be safer and there will always be someone to look out for her. Her mother looked at her with such admiration, thinking that even though she was away from home for so long, she didn't forget her upbringing and values. Kalpi went to the lady and greeted her; introducing herself and went to touch her feet requesting her blessings. The lady was taken aback and told Kamla, that she has wonderful daughter and that she will one day make a great daughter-in-law to a blessed family. (Little did they know what destiny had planned for them.)
