CHAPTER 15: THE CRYING PRINCESS AND A SEMINAR
"PEOPLE WHO REALLY CARE FOR YOU WILL NEVER LIKE TO SEE YOU IN PAIN. DO NOT MISUNDERSTAND THEM IF THEY CAN'T WIPE OFF YOUR TEARS BECAUSE EVEN THEY ARE CRYING SEEING YOU IN PAIN."
Kalpi straight away goes to her mother and sees her crying. While downstairs Raghav is looking at the name Singhania chawl and remembers his father. Both the souls have tears in their eyes. One can show it but has no one to wipe it while other one does not show it in fear that no one will come to wipe it. Pakhi goes to Vitthal and Pakya and all three go running to Kamla to tell her the good news. Kamla senses Kalpi in the room and turns to see her. She finds her smiling between her tears. Kalpi opens her arms for Kamla and smiles. Just then Pakhi comes running and hugs Kamla. Kamla forgets that Kalpi too is present there waiting for her. Vitthal and Pakya comes and Vitthal is surprised to find Kalpi silently crying in one corner. He proceeds to ask but Kamla hold on to him and hugs him. Kalpi comes out and starts crying profusely while Kamla is busy embracing Pakhi. Unknown to them a pair of eyes from out watched everything that happened inside.
Raghav came upstairs to meet his Kamla maa. He waited outside and smiled when he saw Kalpi opening her arms for her mother and wanted her to spend some time with Kamla. That is when he saw Pakhi going and hugging Kamla while Kalpi was left all alone. Raghav was furious seeing this. All his patience broke when he saw Kalpi coming outside and crying. No one came to wipe her tears. He did want to but feared that she might see his tears as well. He could not withstand her tears even in his dreams. He decided to leave as he didn't want to meet anyone now. Thus he left silently looking at a crying Kalpi with an almost teary eye.
Here Kamla and family come down to meet Raghav but he is nowhere to be seen. The chawl people decides to have a party in the honour of Kalpi. Kamla decides that she would not work for the Kapoors anymore and tells everyone else to get back to their work. Pakhi goes to Kalpi to get some information regarding Raghav but Kalpi refuses to pay any heed. The preparations go on in a full swing and everyone decides to gift something or the other to Kalpi. Pakhi goes back to her house and decides to invite Raghav for the party as well. Pakhi enters her house and Neetu shouts at her for going against her family. Pakhi gives her a reality check by saying "Thank your stars Neetu. Chawl ke papers pe fodge signatures ke liye Raghav ne aap logon par case nahi kiya varna apni baaki ki zindagi aako jail mein kaatni padti." Neetu raises her hand to slap her but daadi pulls her back. Sahil asks Neetu to stop all this and reprimands her behavior towards her daughter. Prem comes down under the alcohol effect and says "Aa gayi Pooki? Kya hua apne bhai ko hara ke khush nahi ho kya? Apne parivaar ko barbaad kar do tum...Tumhare liye mere paas ek nickname hai. Ghar ka bhedi..ghar ..ka ..bhedi." Pakhi looks on with tears in her eyes. Neetu supports Prem to reach his room while Sahil asks his manager to arrange a meeting with Raghav at his place. Pakhi overhears this and smiles thinking she got Raghav's address.
Raghav is having a run on his tracks and having flashbacks of Kalpi's crying face "Kalpi ko main rotey hue nahi dekh sakta. Lekin Kamla maa Kalpi ko kaise ignore kar sakti hai. Nahi unhone yeh thik nahi kiya. Kalpi Pune tak gayi chawl ko bachane ke liye aur Kamla maa ne ek baar bhi usey gale se nahi lagaya." Sammy comes and gives him news updates. Raghav increases the rate of the walking track and Sammy looks at him questioningly. Sammy stops the machine and says "Ok ab bas. Apni umar kam karne ki zaroorat nahi hai." Raghav looks at him and gets down. Sammy notices his expressions and understands that he is having an inner turmoil "Kya baat hai Raghav? Main dekh raha hoon tu jab se Pune se vapas aaya hai kuch pareshaan sa hai?" Raghav brushes it off and asks him for sometime alone. Sammy agrees and leaves while Raghav is busy thinking about Pakhi and Kamla's relation "Yeh Kamla maa aur Pakhi itne close kyun hai?"
The chawl is fully decked up for the party. Pakya comes and shows the the shield which he wants to present Kalpi as a gift. Everyone including Vitthal and Kamla burst out Laughing. Pakya was confused and pouted like a child. Vitthal came forward and took the shield from his hand "Tu pagal ho gaya hai kya Pakya? Hum Kalpi ko yeh denge? Arey Kalpi koi cricket match nahi jeet kar aayi hai jo usey hum yeh de. Buddhu kahin ka." Pakya made a face and said "Arey baba. Award de rahe hain toh lagana bhi toh chahiye na. Yehi denge." The preparations continue and everyone gets busy with their share of work.
Raghav is still in the gym working out his frustration when Sammy comes and says "Dekh Raghav main nahi jaanta kit u kis baat se pareshaan hai ya phir kis baat ke liye khud ko sazaa de raha hai." Raghav looks at his friends and thinks "Pata nahi maine kaun se acche kaam kiye the jo mujhe Sammy jaisa best friend mila." He stops his work out and searches for water. Sammy hands him a protein drink and says "Paani chod tu yeh pee. Body ke liye nahi par dimaag ke liye accha hai." Raghav takes it and looks at Sammy who is thinking something "Kya hua kya soch raha hai?" Sammy looked at him and said "Sahil Kapoor tujhse milna chahata hai. Maine mana kar diya." Raghav says "Bula unhe main miloonga unse." Sammy gets confused and asks the reason. Raghav smirks and says "Kehete hain ki doston ko kareeb rakhna chahiye aur dushmano ko aur bhi kareeb." With this he left and Sammy was now more confused that before "Pune mein Kalpana nein kuch khila pila diya kya issey. Yeh toh pehele se bhi zyada confusing ho gaya hai." Here Sahil asks Neetu to pick out the best suit for his meeting with Raghav while Raghav is checking different suits for the last fifteen minutes. Sammy who is busy playing video games laughs seeing this and says "Kya baat hai Raghav bada serious hai iss meeting ko lekar." Raghav doesn't say anything and continues his work of trying different outfits. Sammy gets irritated and goes to him "Pichle pandra minute se tu aaine ke saamne khada hai aur abhi take k outfit decide nahi kar paya? Come on Raghav. Tujhe toh kabhi inn outer appearances se matla nahi tha. Toh phir aaj kya hua?" Raghav smirks and says "Mujhe aaj bhi outer appearances se matlab nahi hai Sammy. Lekin Sahil Kapoor jaise log apni meetings ko kapdo se hi taultey hain. Jab vo dekhenge ki mera suit unki gaari se bhi zyada mehenga hai tab vo yeh anumaan lagate hain ki meeting ki shuruaat mein hi gad bad hai." Sammy understands his plan and smirks.
Kalpi is dressed up in traditional Maharashtrian saari and is busy decorating bappa's idol. Pakhi comes and hugs Kamla and says that she has asked Sahils manager to find out Raghav's address. Kamla goes from there leaving Kalpi and Pakhi there. Pakhi hugs Kalpi and she reciprocates. She asks Pakhi not get too much into Raghav as she will get the biggest jolt of her life when Raghav will push her back. Pakya comes and intervienes and stop their fight saying "Tum dono bhi na bilkul pagal ho. Raghav khud bhi sochta hoga ki do pagal ladkiyan apna saara kaam dhaam chod kar mere liye ek doosre se lad rahi hai." Pakhi leaves from there while Kalpi continues her work of decoration. Pakya stands there smiling and after a little while he too gets back to his work. Little did he know how true his words are going to be in near future.
The satkaar samaroh has started and Pakhi and Kalpi do the first hit on item number. After the dance Pakhi gets a call and is delighted to know that the latter has found out Raghav's address. She goes and informs Kamla and takes her along with her. Kalpi is called upon the stage as it is time fot the honouring session. One by one every chawl member comes and blesses her. Pakya calls Kamla to ho the honouring but she is nowhere in the chawl. Kalpi feels disappointed as yet again her mother left for her memsaab's daughter. A taayi from chawl comes and does the honouring. Everyone gives a big round of applause. Kamla and Pakhi reach Raghav's place and asks the Guard to inform Raghav. Here Raghav and Sammy are playing video game and are challenging each other when the phone rings and Sammy goes to pick it. Sammy tells Raghav about Kamla and Pakhi's arrival. He looks at him and then gets up from his seat. Sammy asks whether he should call them inside. Raghav gloomily says a no. Kamla and Pakhi are surprised but Kamla explains Pakhi and takes her along with her. Sammy hears everything and goes to Raghav. Raghav has flashbacks of Kamla and the care she showed him "Main aapse milna toh chahata hoon Kamla maa par nahi mil sakta. Aur aaj jo aapne Kalpi ke saath kiya uske liye main aapse bohot naraz hoon." Sammy comes and questions Raghav on his rude behavior. Raghav pours his heart infront of Sammy "Vo bohot acchi hai Sammy. Aur acche log mujhse dur hi rahe toh accha hai. Jo bhi mere kareeb aata hai mujhse dur chala jaata hai. Pehele mom mujhe chod ke chali gayi. Phir dad chale gaye. Kapoors mujhe apne saath toh le gaye lekin apne faidey ke liye. Ab mujhme aur himmath nahi hai ki main aye rishtey banau aur unke tootne ka intezaar karoon. Raghav Singhania kush aur kho nahi sakta Sammy isiliye milne se mana kar diya" Sammy's heart went out to his dearest friend and he silent prayed to god asking for his friend's happiness "Oh god please Raghav ko uskey hisse ki khushi de do na. Poori zindagi akela raha hai ab toh usey uski khushi de do." Little did he know that his wish would soon be granted and in return he too was going to get his share of happiness, his gift, his lady love.
Sahil comes to meet Raghav and addresses him as son but Raghav sternly says "The name is Raghav Singhania." Sahil asks him to leave this rivalry but Raghav keeps forward his condition to end this rivalry "Thik hai main yeh dushmani bhool jaunga par meri bhi ek shart hai." Without listening Sahil blurted out "Haan beta jot um kaho. Agar tum chaho toh main vo chawl ki zameen bhi tumhare naam kar dunga." Raghav gave a fierce look ti him and said "Vo zameez meri hai aapki kabhi thi hi nahi. Vaisey tajjub ki baat hai aap business man kaise bane aap toh kisi ki suntey hi nahi. Anyways coming to the point. Meri shart yeh hai ki aap chawl valon se aur specially Kamla bai aur unki family se maafi maang lijiye, main vaada karta hoon ki main aapki family aur business se dur rahoonga." Sahil had a shocked face. Raghav very well knew that the Kapoors will never seek for forgiveness neither from the chawl people nor from Kamla and her family. He stood up and started going upstairs when he turned back and said "Aur haan jaatey waqt zara darwaza bandh kar dijiyega." With that he left to his room. While Sahil was still pondering over the fact that Raghav had yet again managed to kick him out of his expectations. He left with a gruff. Upstairs Sammy and Raghav were having a hearty laugh seeing Sahil Kapoor's condition. Sammy was lying on the bed holding his stomach "Yaar Raghav tujhe acchi tarah se pata than a ki Sahil Kapoor maafi nahi mangega. Phir bhi tune ussey maafi maangney ko kaha. Hahahahah tu kamal hai yaar." Raghav looked at him with a wide grin and controlling his laugh said "Jaanta hoon aur ab toh unhone maafi na maang kar khud apne liye aur musibatein invite kar li hain." Just one look at Sammy and Raghav again burst out into fits of laughter. Sammy was rofling on the bed while Raghav was taking the support of the wall for keeping himself on his feet as he too was finding it difficult to control the laugh.
