Maham,
Okay, you already know how happy I was with that disaster of a track.. 😆 All the more so because this particular premise is tailor-made for you! And you, my friend, didn't disappoint! 😃
I love what this SS is all about. Not just in respect of the bond VirMan share, but love in general.. When a person becomes the sole reason of your existence, becomes the purpose of your life, it's hard to demarcate love from life. And since life is flawed, so is love.. of this kind, atleast. I commend you for bringing out the shades so beautifully.
LOVE the whole scene where Virat breaks down and Maanvi abates his pain while trying to keep her own apprehensions at bay -- some exceptional writing there! Their urgency and desperation to keep the flame of hope burning within themselves has been very well portrayed.. The rawness of it all is overwhelming. The part where she asks him to just let go -- "Its okay for you to cry, it's okay if you are scared.. There's nothing wrong with fear. What's wrong is that you put up a facade of strength everyday for my sake alone, what's wrong is that you deny your heart the need to express that fear and that pain that consumes you by day and haunts you by night, its okay if you aren't so strong all the time. It's okay to be weak." -- sheer brilliance. (Reminded me of Harry Potter a lot! Go figure the parallels now. :P) And this line here -- "I'll be your shadow too Virat. I'll tread every path that you will, I'll live every moment that you will, loving and protecting you. How can I die when you are alive?" -- this will remain etched in my heart forever. Brilliant dialogues throughout the scene!
Coming to Virat's decision, and his eventual rebuke of the same, I think he stands at a point where selfishness and selflessness are two sides of the same coin, and essentially the same thing. He dedicates his whole being to one single person, he feels one with her.. so every little thing that concerns her will involve a part of him too. It's only when you selflessly love someone, that your love becomes 'selfish'. Quite a paradox, yes, but a fascinating one all right. *Good Lord, I can connect with this guy so much!*
The dream was a nice touch.. Considering how perceptive he is, the dilemma he is in justifies itself. This choice is anything but a click of a button.. The demons will continue to haunt him.. But in the end he will find his light. I am sure of that.
Looking forward to the next update!
