Hey everyone,
Very very sorry for being so late in updating but I was really confused as to how I wanted to take this story forward so that's why it took me so long to pen something down. I want to loosely follow the show but appropriate to suit my desires haha so yet again bear with me :)
NAYA RANG - CHAPTER TWO - LOST IN TRANSLATION:
The strong beam of sunlight peaking through the gap in the curtains penetrated through Tara's sleepy lids who had had the most peaceful sleep since the incident. She would toss and turn every night dreaming of the bloody bodies that lay in front of her, their expressionless faces haunting her every where she went but last night she didn't dream. All she remembered was cuddling up to Mrityunjay's warmth and falling into a deep state of unconsciousness where everything was pitch black. She slowly opened her sleep heavy eyes to see the light gently caressing the defined features of Mrityunjay's face where a small smile was spread across his lips. She planted a kiss on the mole on the tip of his nose as he began to stir from the sunlight.
Tara turned to her right despite being tightly secured by Mrityunjay's muscly arm. She glanced at her side to find the usually warm indent in the sheets cold with no sign of Aditi bundled up in her blankets. Tara jolted up and checked if Aditi had fallen off the bed but there was no trace of her or her blanket anywhere. Tara rubbed her eyes profusely, hoping to God that she was still sleeping and that this was all just a bad dream.
"Mrityunjay, Mrityunjay! Please get up! I can't find Aditi anywhere!" Tara bellowed at the top of her lungs while frantically searching every nook and cranny of the shanty house.
Mrityunjay's eyes fluttered open at the sound of Tara's yelling that Aditi was missing. He pushed the covers aside and lept into action trying to look for Aditi as well.
"Where could she go? She can't crawl or walk so how could she have just disappeared like this? Also I can't seem to see the blanket she was wrapped in either," Mrityunjay reasoned as he rubbed the deep creases on his forehead.
Suddenly the image of the black shadow prancing across the walls flashed before his eyes. His hands and feet became cold at the thought of there being someone secretly spying on them. The strong beam of sunlight hit his face again and alerted him to the window gaping open where the slight breeze and light had entered through. His heart began to beat faster as he approached the window where he found a crumpled piece of paper resting there.
IF YOU WANT TO SEE ADITI ALIVE THEN COME GET HER NEAR THE CLIFF EDGE OR ELSE PREPARE TO NEVER SEE THE LITTLE GIRL EVER AGAIN.
Mrityunjay felt as though his world had come crashing down as the ground beneath him began to tremble. He scrunched the paper in his fist and turned slowly to face the tear strained face of Tara whose eyes were filled with questions that he didn't have the heart to answer. She grabbed him by the arms and shook him violently demanding her to tell her where her little girl was.
"Mrityunjay, what does the note say? Why aren't you saying anything goddamnit?! Where is Aditi? Tell me where Aditi is!" Tara screamed as her eyes began to well up with tears again seeing Mrityunjay stand there almost as if his soul had been drained out of his body.
Tara snatched the crumpled note out of his hands and scanned the cursive handwriting hurriedly when suddenly she felt the world around her start to spin. The writing became hazy and instead of a single Mrityunjay standing before her, she saw multiple figures of him. Before she could hit the ground, Mrityunjay's arms had pulled her free falling body towards his and pushed her along into their jeep which they had escaped in. She felt as though she was in limbo as her mind couldn't focus with the speed of jeep overpowering her senses.
"Mrityunjay, she will be ok right? Nobody will hurt her right? What answer will I give to Meethi? I-I-I can't lose her Mrityunjay, she's our life!" Tara choked out those words as she began to sob into her hands.
"Tara please not now, I won't let anything happen to her! But I need you to be calm. We have to get there as fast as possible but I can't concentrate if you break down like this. Please everything will be alright," Mrityunjay said gritting his teeth, feeling the anger pulsing through his veins, the thought of someone taking Aditi away from them made his blood boil. He knew he wouldn't spare the bas***d who took his little girl. He would destroy whoever dared to hurt their bundle of joy.
"Mrityunjay stop! Stop the car! They left Aditi on the road in front of us! Please stop, we're going to hit the baby!" Tara's screaming from the passenger seat averted Mrityunjay's attention to the white bundle wriggling on the road ahead and instantly his hands began to turn the steering wheel which sent the car swerving to its right, avoiding colliding with Aditi.
The car spun out of control as the cliff edge drew nearer and nearer. Tara grabbed onto Mrityunjay's arm as the vehicle nose dived and tumbled several times down the steep terrain. Mrityunjay and Tara both saw their world tumbling around them as they both drifted into black oblivion.
"NO MRITYUNJAY!" Tara jolted up as the vase on the table next to her shattered into pieces causing her to flutter her eyes open.
She rubbed her temples in a circular motion as a sharp pain niggled the back of her head. She patted her face, her hair and looked down at her nightie. It was same one that she had been the same silky garment that Mrityunjay loved to see her in.
"Phew, it was just a bad dream," Tara comforted herself as she turned to see that there was no one next to her on the large king size bed.
"Mrityunjay? Aditi? Where are you?" Tara questioned as her eyes fell on the calendar next to her which was positioned next to a framed photo which the glare of the sun hindered her from seeing.
Her head began to pulsate painfully as everything around her was different to what she remembered from the shanty house they had rented out. Everything was so meticulously arranged and every piece of furniture and decor seemed to be worth more than her. She rubbed her head again as she glanced at the calendar.
16TH JUNE 2014
The pulsating sensation at the back of her head became stronger and stronger as she pinched herself on the arm. She was alive and present here on the 16th of June 2014 but how she wondered. She couldn't have been asleep for a whole month.
"Where am I? Mrityunjay? Aditi?," Tara whispered to herself as the pain forced her to close her eyes once again, plunging her into the black oblivion once again.
Sorry this was so rushed and I'm sure this was nowhere near the quality of the first chapter. Please let me know what you think! I would love to hear your feedback 😊
