kripsy: As I said, maybe we need to hear the entire conversation but the whole 'society blaming the girl' really got me worked up. I know people talk crap but I didn't think that the woman is always blamed for a divorce. Its not true! I mean I know of couples living in India who have seperated and its been quite clear who is at fault.
I know Riddhima's indecisive nature is making it worse but I think Shankys' words about the woman being blamed affected her in the wrong way.
It really did seem like to me that he was telling her that its necessary that you make this marriage work otherwise you will be blamed.
Lets see.
Ok honestly I don't think that was his intentions or his meaning but say for a second you're right and that he was saying society would blame her for the divorce. Tthis time don't you think they have reason to? Like Shashank said he knows it's not her fault but society being given selective glimpses into SR's marriage will see that the divorce happened a few weeks after her ex-fiancee (who made many grand and public displays of apology to his "girlfriend") returned. We know Armaan would never have done this if he knew the truth but most people dont think that rationally and WILL jump to harsh, unfair conclusions.
Now I don't like the idea of a girl being the sole guilty person in any relationship falling out cos from what I've seen it's usually both their faults and in most cases the guy's have caused the problems and girls have crossed the limit with their sacrificing, compromising and understanding. But in this case what would strike people and stay in their minds is that she must've still been in love with her ex so her husband divorced her.
Be that it is a narrow point-of-view, Shashank isn't wrong or unfair he has just told it like it is.
