Episode Feedback 21/06: Disappointing!

Tonight's feedback is brutally honest. Ye be warned.
-------------
I am immensely disappointed in the writers, the director, and whoever else can be held responsible for the execution of tonight's episode. Toward the end of it, I was left with the following thought: "The creatives have no clue where they're headed. They're lost."
I'll be nice and start with the pros. I'll be honest and admit that, to me, there were only two pros.
1) Raghav-Gayatri's moment in her bedroom
2) Gayatri watching the childhood video of her two sons and shutting it off right as they started fighting [symbolic?]
I apologise in advance if anything in the following feedback seems rude. Not my intention at all. I just have a lot to say and not enough patience to wrap it in wool for sensitive ears.
Cons:
1) What are they doing to Viraj Dobriyal?
I have always enjoyed KVB's performance as V. But in recent episodes, I have been just about fed up with the dual image, the schizophrenic touches, the alter ego explanation -- I've got one question: Where the hell is the Viraj Dobriyal who walked around confidently with his skull-stick, conversed with himself [not his dual image], tended to be immensely scary in mannerism, and whose character related to the theme of the show -- which was domestic violence. Because all I see is the same V in dissimilar shirts, or dissimiliar hair style, who's trying desperately to hold my attention -- and failing.
Changing his hair doesn't make him distingushable from the original V. Having him sitting on the roof of a car or locked in the trunk doesn't make him frightening at all -- maybe the director should've considered shooting those scenes at night rather than broad daylight.
The bright, colorful shirts, V's calm mannerism is repetitive and boring to say the least. If the writers don't know where they're headed with the story, at least cease with the constant psychological drama and just show him as he is! Viraj Dobriyal has always been Viraj Dobriyal, rich, charming, cruel, confident, manipulative! This Version 2.0 is more like a Version 0.0 to me. The old Viraj was at least intriguing to watch.
2) Sia ka mahaan mission and her superpower
Being everywhere at the same time -- that's definitely a superpower. And an annoying one.
Gosh, what the hell is going with her? For a victim of domestic violence, she sure has a lot of energy and consideration for the entire world's woes. I mean, come on! They keep showing her as this self-sacrificing mahaan Indian TV heroine who's the reason that the hero mends his relationship to his mother. Forget the fact that she's so damaged herself that she turns into a nervous train wreck whenever someone says VIRAJ.
However mahaan they were trying to show her throughout the episode, she ended up appearing annoyingly nosy! Lurking outside every room, stalking the Singh family members, listening in on their conversations, etc. etc. etc.
Instead of showing her fighting Raghav's battles, they should've shown her fighting her own, for crying out loud. She must have issues, like a million issues herself. Fear, anger, confusion, hatred, SOMETHING. Worries for her family's safety now that Viraj is going back. Worries for Taashu's safety since she's travelling with him. Worries for herself since Viraj might one day get his memory back and then hunt her down again!
Instead she's prancing around in her pretty clothes and makeup, playing matchmaker between Raghav and his mother! I swear 🤢🤢 This only confirms my suspicions that the writers have no CLUE as to how a victim of domestic violence deals, how she is around people just weeks after escaping the torture -- most of all, they have no clue HOW to shape her personality!
God help me.
3) Raghav crying all the time
Um, out of frigging character. Raghav was sketched as a strong hero with issues, yes. He started out as someone who had trouble expressing himself, was diconnected from people around him, etc. Now they've turned him into an emotional wreck who cries in every scene. I mean, W*F? Butchering his character already? Huh. At least writers take more than two months to do that to a character.
Honestly, I'm tired of him being emotionally weak and needing Sia to make his decisions for him. Please. Take Sia and place her in another room when Raghav is deciding whether or not to talk to his mother, when he's walking to her room, when he's entering her room, and ESPECIALLY when he's having an emotional and PRIVATE conversation with his mother in her room!
Raghav wasn't this expressive to start with. He concealed his pain and tears from the world. They should've shown him deciding to confront his mother privately after the drama in the hall and then upon entering her room, get all nervous and emotional. Most importantly, they should've shown him having that conversation with her ALONE. No Sia to pat his back like a good boy and tell him shabaash!
They have weakened him, and I'm disliking it.
This guy, this emotional guy who needs Sia to push him to do everything [even though just weeks back HE was the one pushing her to do everything], is going to battle the evil that is Viraj Dobriyal? I say good luck to the writers on executing that with conviction.
4) The RaghaVi dream sequences
Yes, they have amazing chemistry. But please. If this was V's nightmare, Raghav would not have been romancing Sia with candlelight dinner and breakfast on bed. He would've been romancing her by dragging her to her feet macho-style and dancing with her the way Viraj did on their second suhaag raat right before she ran away.
The thing is that, according to Viraj, a real man is what he is. The way he acts around Jahnvi. He would've transferred that to Raghav in his nightmare, seeing him do all the things the way Viraj liked to do them with Jahnvi and being furious about someone other than him touching her his way. So, Raghav's approach should've been aggressive, bordering on violent -- not gushy softness and rose petals. Those were always decorative objects in Viraj's established scenes. Right before he'd force himself on Jahnvi.
I wouldn't have liked to see Raghav being a hard lover like Viraj -- but I'm talking about logic in relation to the characters. Those dream sequences made no sense if they were meant to be Viraj's nightmares on Raghav overthrowing him and taking over Jahnvi.
5) No progress
There is no progress in terms of character development. Raghav-Gayatri scenes show progress. Raghav-Krish scenes are always dynamic. But everything else, every other character including Raghav is stuck! V is always mellow, talking to his dual self, plotting plotting plotting in his peach/pink/blue/yellow/red frigging sunshiny shirts. Sia is always drifting left right left right, watering bushes, patting Krish on the head, patting Raghav on the head, telling Komal how hard she'll try to fix the whole world, but oh wait, forget about how she's soul-broken herself due to rape and trauma. Don't even get me started on how I almost gagged when Komal applauded Sia for trying to help rather than tell her to back off their personal matters and stop spying! And Raghav's always crying.
Having watched tonight's episode, I'm disappointed. Frustrated. And I think that what the CVs are doing right now is dragging this story because they have NO clue what they're doing. And while they're dragging, they're also digging their own graves with V's character bloopers, Jahnvi's character bloopers, and now even Raghav's character bloopers.
Whatever. I needed to vent about this and I did. Sorry, guys. No fantastically positive post tonight with any insight. Just straightforward feedback.

Seriously Ana, I didnt even enjoy a bit of it. Viraj is getting irritating day by day. I am just tired of this two V nonsense, doesnt made any sense to my little brain. I wanted to yell at the cvs n tell them to move on. I wud hav prefered watching Sundars investigation then Watching Sach ka saamna of Viraj. Wat the hell do they want to show?? One on the car n other in the car. Both equally evil. One manipulative while other cunning .Uff I m pissed of this crap.

The story isnt heading anywhere. Viraj is back n that too with his goody goody avtar🤢. N Gayatri will b bak with her Mehmaan. mahan drama.

Sia is getting on my nerves. Why do she need to interfere in dere matters. Taking everything in her hand like typical indian leads. Komal is no less. She is giving a pat on her back for interfering.😡 I mean seriously?? Shudnt she stop her n tell her to mind her bussiness.

I want Raghav to go bak to his garage n becum a rough tough guy which he was in the first few epi.

Oh how can I forget d dream. Well I didnt enjoyed it a bit coz it reminded me of Viraj Priya scenes. HarshSri were amazing, no doubt abt it bt thought behind it made it creepy.

Now you know why off late I am not enjoying Raghav atall and what all I meant with his rustic personality getting lost
My problem is that Raghav was sketched as a very strong character with every emotion hidden inside but ever since his family came
all we were seeing was either majnu or devdas (sad) Raghav
the thing which disconnctd me from him
him getting so open with Sia all of sudden, well it could be that bfr thr was no1 to understand him but still thr was Sundar and we never witnessed such kind of interaction b/w them or like any kind of emotional interaction so how cum he is so free with Sia now, bcme so expressive over night.
well frankly I felt that cvs lost it there, they didn't developed their part, they didn't let viewers to understand and swallow this whole change.

The fire that we saw in initial epis is no where now, the air which was around him is no whr now, I dunno I am not being able to put my feelings in words but in short this character is totally new and not the one we witnessed in initial epis, every character undergoes some changes but that does not mean one has to adapt new layers and completely wipe off old one

I have not watched the epi or rather past week epis but this is my POV based on earlier judgement

I don't know if I'll be sticking around for much longer if it continues like this. I've been patient because of Raghav and how intriguing he seemed to me -- refreshing on a dark show. But I feel like they've altered his character and made him weaker. Now I'm only watching for him and his mother. That's all keeping me coming back.
One more week like this, and I might take a solid break 🤢

I watched all of the episodes from this week today and I must say I am hugely disappointed. I'll focus on today though...

You basically nailed it, Ana. No positive thoughts from my side either.
The only thing about V I liked used to be KVB's acting but I don't know why they are trying to butcher that as well with the whole duo-Viraj 24/7. I liked it when it was shown for the first time but EVERY SINGLE SCENE? Seriously? Plus it seems like almost spoonfeeding it to us - we get what Viraj thinks, don't need a reminder every minute of every episode. I would hate to see this going on permanently now. At one point, I may have considered Viraj to be a complex character (very early episodes) but the manner in which they are shaping him now leaves nothing to be desired as it appears the writers themselves have no clue what they are doing.

Same thing with Janvi. I absolutely hate it when she stands at the doorstep of every person's room or stands by the stairs whenever there is a showdown between Raghav and Gayatri. They've literally made her a doormat! I don't get why she interferes so much in everyone's problems considering for one, she isn't THAT close to any of them and the fact that she has enough problems of her own. If anything, if she is so concerned about solving other's problems then how about they also solve yours, Janvi? Just tell them who you are already! My mom doesn't watch the show but knows the general story and when I was watching it the other day, she made a passive comment that Janvi's just hiding that she's married to lead Raghav on. I didn't even bother to defend Janvi because even though that may not be the reason, I have no other logic to offer? I don't understand her thought process. Period. I just can't find it in me to sympathize with her anymore or let her have the benefit of doubt.

As for Raghav, also agree. The problem has always been there - for 4 years. All of a sudden, it has become so big that he is a crybaby about it all the time? It's not like it just happened. And this is coming from the guy who preached about staying strong? Ruining the way the character was introduced in the first month - mentally strong and determined.

Slightly disagree about the dream sequence though because even when he imagines her with someone else, I'd expect it to mushy and romantic because with that, he KNOWS that that is what true romance is and that what he does is not love. He knows that THAT is what he has to fear - someone loving Janvi without hurting her.
But I still like your take on it too -- I hadn't thought about it that way.

Overall, I agree with you. In the 6 months that I have been watching the show, the CVs drag and drag tracks on forever, but usually they don't keep creating the chaos that they have now. None of the pieces connect and it is disappointing to say the least.

Don't understand how the CVs could go so wrong. This isn't the same team who executed every episode from December-May. But I would've still assumed that the channel would've chosen a team who could remain true to the story, characters, and show overall.

Raghav was a tough strong person outside ... but within he was always very soft, always caring, going out of way to help ... he is breaking down after his family came into picture because his family has been his weakness for all this while ... he is still strong otherwise if you see how he's handling V and his antics and saving his family and Sia from V ... but when it comes to that emotional issue of his lost brother and his strained relationship with his mother he breaks down ... he breaks down infront of Sia because he is in love with her (one thing though that I didnt understand was how why he fell so in love with her ... i hate cvs for conviniently skipping off that) I am not at all saying that CVs arent butchering Raghav ... they have, they are ... infact sadly i never felt they had properly established Raghav in the first place itself ... they are too busy attempting to prove wrong things on the show! But regarding why Raghav has started crying I feel though they should have shown it more subtly but kinda makes sense why he's opening up to her now ... he has made her a part of his life, and thus a part of his pain too ... though am not not liking them make him emotional all the time ... i mean gayatri ke alawa krish is also there in the house ... why doesnt he talk to him nowadays :( lol i miss his scenes with krish thats my major complaint atm 😆
