... and the forum comes alive :)

My two cents - the phrase 2 sides of the same coin is a very big misuse by Sanjog ... Way to butcher the language...

As a viewer, i don't see any fine line dividing viraj and raghav ... its more like the great wall of china

... and if anger was supposed to be the common factor in the "coin" then we will all be sides of this billion sided coin because who in today's world doesn't have a temper

... but i guess i am late to the party. The debate seems to have shifted to whole other level

So what if they are "trying" to create "sympathy" for Viraj .
It doesn't matter as long as your not feeling sorry for him ! 😛

Aya, I think that the issue for most people is that in "trying to create sympathy for Viraj", the writers are stepping on dangerous ground. You see, there are men out there who've openly declared that they worship Viraj. They see him as a role model.
There's a lot at stake here than just annoying one group of viewers. The writers are dealing with a social issue -- domestic violence. And trying to create sympathy for a character such as Viraj who is the abuser, it'll present a very wrong and damaging message.

I will repeat what I said before.

They had created sympathy for Viraj long before. This is nothing new. They are not trying to create sympathy for Viraj. They've already done so.

Yeah. But it's disturbing nonetheless. Especially when you read the response from young men. Response like "I'm trying to be just like you, Viraj".

That is disturbing.

I hope they watch the show and realise that power or anger or whatever you want to call it, should be used the way Raghav uses it not the way Viraj uses it.

This is what I was trying to say before, that both get really angry about things they believe in BUT Raghav uses his power for the good whereas Viraj for his own needs.

Raghav like Viraj does what he wants and follows his own rules. And this is what some of us have been trying to say that although in some ways they are similar, ultimately they are completely different people, as they have different beliefs.

The power they have is the only thing that is similar, but they have different paths, Raghav good, and Viraj bad.

Hope guys choose to be like Raghav, as they will still have power, but they will use it for the right causes.😊

Hmm who knows that those men who worship Viraj could be the CV's of this show .
& if they worship him, that's their problem . Just because you watch something on TV that doesn't mean we should try to do like them even if they send out a wrong msg . American shows are always sending out wrong msgs to teenagers, but that doesn't mean we should try to copy them . You yourself said that Viraj is no longer a kid . He's a grown man & knows the difference between right & wrong . All grown ups know the difference between right & wrong . It just depends on you & how you use your brain . If they show Jhanvi going back to Viraj then so what ? I'm not saying this because I'm a RajVi fan, but because a lot of women do go back to their abusive husbands & forgive them, but just because you saw that on TV it doesn't mean you're gonna do what Jhanvi did . Besides, this is a tv show not reality, you should expect all kinds of endings. Viraj could die or get cured. In reality too, you should expect all kinds of situations because there are all kinds of people. There are people who punish, people who sit quiet, people who forgive and go back, people who forget but move on. We have to understand the source of his personality, the reason. You can't judge someone without knowing why they are what they are. I am really confused too because I don't know the reason why he is what he is. I don't sympathize with him nor do I justify his actions because I don't believe beating someone or punishing them can make them any better. However, I don't hate him either because I don't understand him at all. He is unpredictable. We can't make any judgement because so far, Viraj hasn't opened his heart to anyone not even Jhanvi, his soulmate. That's something I feel sad about. I think the CVs should focus more on that than Raghav and his family. When I think about it I feel he is really lonely but that's also partly his fault
because of his inability to change
(the source;his dad is partly at fault too) . You make your own decisions so, don't blame the show . You yourself said Viraj can no longer blame his dad anymore . It's not a wrong msg . It's reality . Whether you like the msg or not . Like I've mentioned before, there are all kinds of people in this world and life throws all kinds of situations at you, so don't be suprised at whatever comes in this show. It's unpredictable, like life . Jhanvi may go back to him or she may forget or forgive him and move on. Whatever it is , it's reality because people are capable of doing anything . Whether it's forgiving like what Jhanvi had been doing or punishing which is what Viraj can be doing . And yes, people are capable of changing. So if God can forgive, then who are we to carry a grudge all our life . God can forgive a guy like Viraj if he repents & ask for forgiveness, like it or not ! & for how long can someone hold a grudge how are we going to move on if we just keep on remembering the bad things ?
* Who knows Viraj's dad might have abused Viraj...what are you guys going to say then ?
* & I disagree with the fact that Viraj punishes ppl just because he enjoys doing it !
There's a reason why he punishes them not just like that .

I have no idea how I managed to miss this topic 😆😲

But seeing that I already wrote a debate on something similar, I'll keep it short.
It is clear that while CVs managed to maintain a grey character in the earlier days of the show, Viraj turned more and more towards the dark side as the scope of those affected by his deeds increased relentlessly and so did the atrocity of his actions - he lost all control of what kind of pain he was inflicting and on whom and that to me is unredeemable.
I guess they've realized now that Viraj has gone to the dark side completely and they are trying to shift him back to grey with both the viewers as well as Janvi. But I just want to say one thing, if his amnesia turns out to somehow be real although I highly doubt that, and Janvi sympathizes with him, I'm sorry but neither Janvi will gain my sympathy nor Viraj.

And to wrap it up, no I never try to put down Viraj because I know for someone to become what he is, they must have endured something terrible themselves. I just hate to see that he had a caring family, he had Janvi, he had his mother -- all these people who understood that something was wrong with him and they forgave him for his actions because they knew he needed treatment but he STILL didn't accept their help and succumbed to his dark side. That, to me, is what made him evil. The fact that he knows he needs help but turns it down repeatedly.

I agree on half of the things you've said, but we still don't know why Viraj refuses to get treatment . That's something I just don't get .

Because criticaleyes' posts, the post which actually is the most problematic for many (the slave comment) had been posted weeks back. This thread was dormant.

So suddenly there's a reply. No problem. And a whole lot of replies. Also no problem.

Then I come in and post because I was misquoted.

Mystic only added to my point. It was very much on topic. And why shouldn't she come in and add her point? This thread has no 'attraction' for her or me. It's not her fault that a whole group here automatically labels anything she writes as "wrecking the debate." There was the earlier instance on this thread itself. Where all she did was bring up a valid point. And of course the group comes terming it as not contributing to the "healthy debate."

Apparently healthy debate is limited in who can post, and what type of points can be brought up.

How nice!
