Yes, Shiv's bow (dhanush) was called Pinaka and Shiv gave it to ParsuRam who was his disciple. Parshuram eventually gave it to King Janak. It was extremely heavy and long (8-9 feet long) and nobody except for Vishnu's avataar could lift it. Parshuram was another avtaar of Vishnu. Sita was playing with her sister and cousins when she lifted it up. Her father observed it and decided to marry her to a prince who was worthy of her. That's why he used that as a test.

Also Ram and Sita fell in love even before the swayamvar (love at first sight). So she never wanted anybody to lift that up except for Ram. And eventually it was only Ram who was successful in lifting it up. No other prince/King could even lift it. I have read in some versions that even Raavan came to that Swayamvar, but was unable to lift the bow though he too was Shiv's devotee. Ram who was the youngest one there (except for Lakshman) was the only one who could do so.

as for the actress, i agree with janaki, that she should be parvati.

Tara. I have never understood why Sita has been shown to be a weak or helpless character. She stayed in Raavan's capitvity for 10 months and that too in a garden. Only a strong person can survive that.

I like your interpretation of her as the first single mom. She was definitely that. She brought up her kids single handedly and they were even greater warriors than Ram - their father. How can a weak woman bring up two warrior sons? I don't know if somebody is familiar with Raghuvansham - Kalidas's great literary work. But it has the entire history of Raghu vansh - Ram's family. It shows how Kush - Sita's first twin turned out to be great king and that dynasty lasted for several generations. Luv was the twin who was more into devotion etc. Guru Nanak's ji (Sikhs' first Guru) is said to be his descendent. I don't know how much the latter part is true, but that is what I have heard. So only a strong mother can bring up such strong kids.

Rubina would have been great as Parvati, but I think she was committed to other shows when Parvati was chosen. Also, Rubina as a Sita is a good choice because Sita will be shown with minimal makeup during vanvaas. So they need an actress who can look good with very little makeup. Rubina has natural beauty and she looks more pretty with less makeup.

sita was though was a strong character but she was not a princess who is warrior. As jodha baai or laxmi baai.. these two scenes are different
but yeah she must be lifting the Pinaka that has shown here.

nevertheless she is looking nice and she will do well 😳 But i really dun wanna see the whole ramayan track here... because with DKDM I started watching it because of gaining knowledge and to see there interpretation
regarding shiv puran and other mahadev parvati related story... but I really doubt they have completed all the stories of mahadev from all the puranas.. This is not done to show mahabharat and ramayan for 6 months. A strange way really . 😳
