I like this look. Love this attitude. They should show this stronger side too.

but yeah she must be lifting the Pinaka that has shown here.

nevertheless she is looking nice and she will do well 😳 But i really dun wanna see the whole ramayan track here... because with DKDM I started watching it because of gaining knowledge and to see there interpretation
regarding shiv puran and other mahadev parvati related story... but I really doubt they have completed all the stories of mahadev from all the puranas.. This is not done to show mahabharat and ramayan for 6 months. A strange way really . 😳

That is what I thought too, maybe she was lifting the Pinaka...but even that looks a bit odd since she looks like she was using the bow. Well, we'll see I suppose, though I have stopped watching the show ever since they began distorting Ramayan. I'll keep reading WUs until they get back on track with the story, and stick to Mahadev's Shiv Puran instead of showing other puranas.

It depends on what version of Ramayan is being used. Sita in Tulsi Ramayan is more of a soft princess who was just Ram's follower so to speak. Sita in a Valmiki Ramayan is a very strong character who had a lot of self pride. That's why she did not agree for second Agni Pariksha and refused to go back with Ram. There are other literary works where Sita was shown to be quite a fighter.

Also the reason for that test by Janak- Sita's father was because Sita herself had lifted Shiv's bow. So he vowed that a husband of Sita has to be stronger than her. If she could lift the bow when she was a little girl, her husband should be able to do that. Remember nobody except Ram was even able to lift Shiv's bow. So Sita was a warrior princess. It is another thing that she is always shown in TV serials as this weepy character who is helpless.

Raavan had raped his half brother Kuber's daughter in law, but was never able to even touch Sita. Does not that tell that Sita was a very strong character?

So I actually like this depiction rather than what is usually shown. Of course, just commenting based on a single picture. In reality, they may show Sita as somebody else. TV serials can not be trusted when it comes to depictions of characters - mythological or historical.

In serials after serials, we get references of Sita and Savitri to justify the typical maahan weeping TV serial bahus. Neither Sita nor Savitri were weak characters. They were actually quite strong women who lived life on their own terms even when circumstances were not best.

Of course Sita was a strong character, but one need not show her as a warrior princess to show her as strong. She was strong in mentality and in personality, but she did not fight in wars. If DKDM's version of Ramayan will show her as a Jhansi Ki Rani type character, then that is inaccurate. Sita was both shy and outspoken. She was gentle as well as firm.
As for weeping, it does not symbolize weakness. To show Sita constantly weeping would be annoying, yes, but even Valmiki writes of Sita's despair in Lanka. Just read the Sundara Kanda. There are nearly 2-3 chapters that talk of Sita's despair and frustration where she is contemplating taking her own life. When Sita's abduction is shown, obviously she will be shown weeping in some scenes, or else it would be unrealistic. Her strength came from the fact that she survived living in an enemy's place for 10 months, without her faith in Ram unwavering.

I am liking ruby as sita...sita is an different varition and it will add another feather to her hat...
She was great as kanha...the only actoress played this role...and i have full confidence on ruby...

Sonia, thanks for writing that. I enjoy reading all kinds of mythology - India, Greek, Roman etc.
Based on one picture, I do like Ruby's look as Sita. She looks very innocent and pretty. Also, Rubina is very good in emotional scenes. So she will do the justice.

Why is Sita shown with a bow and arrow? 😳

She seems more like Satyabhama here. Sita was never a warrior princess. 😆

yes But I remember reading a scene in Ramayan where, Sita lifts the Bow while playing with her sisters.
May be it was some thign related to it
But yeah though Sita never fought, she her self had excellence in the fields of war, it was given in Ramayan of Valmiki
