Well, next distortion, if not downright fiction - Shravan Kumar being killed after Rama's birth. In fact, he was killed when Dasharath was still Yuvraj, and not yet married. This apart from Mahadev snatching Vashistha's role in the namkaran, Kaushalya worshipping Mahadev, etc

I do think Mahadev will play a major role here. What role? Remember, how did Rama's last battle w/ Ravan take place? Indra lent his chariot and charioteer Mitali to Rama's service, and it was he (at least as per Valmiki) who advised Rama to use the Brahmastra and finish Ravan.

But in this story, where is Indra? He abdicated before this track started, and Nahusha reigns in his place. Now, Nahusha can easily be among the frightened devas who run to his sasural to try and get this sorted, but there are things Nahush can't do. He can't fight Meghnad and lose to him - that won't give Meghnad the Indrajit name. Similarly, he can't appear before that battle and give Rama his chariot - that would look too funny, and he'd get at least some credit.

What I think will happen is that Ravan will take his flying chariot and attack Rama, and so Mahadev, like he did for Kartikeya in this serial (but not in any of the actual stories) will take a ginormous figure and take Rama in his palms and put him in front of Ravan. Similarly, instead of Mitali, Shiva will be the one telling Rama which weapons to use, when & where. Ravan will look shocked at his aradhya betraying him, and in that state, Rama will shoot him.

As a result, Mahadev will be seen as being behind Ravan's death, just like he was behind Tarakasura's death.
