Parvati Replaced- All discussions here only Nt Pg 41 - Page 41

I am sure makers know best n they have done well in past, so they must be riding high on confidence...!!!!

As for watching DKDM,even general audience I know r confused about the replacement but more so about the Ramayana track...if later on it clicks u will see a surge in trps, otherwise it might come down to serious reality check!!!

I wouldn't really complain if they show Mahadev alone doing his stuff, w/o any Parvati (although she would be needed in the Andhak story, were they to show it). In the Bheemasura story, Parvati ain't involved, nor is she involved in the Ayappa story, and in Manasa Devi, some versions actually have her as a villain, so it would be safe to exclude her, unless they want to show her as evil. In the Arjun-Kirata story, I've read the extended version where Parvati, Nandi and all their ganas take disguises and accompany Kirat when he goes to visit Arjun. But if they want to keep it simple, they could just show Mahadev appearing b4 Arjun after Kirat confronts him alone.

So yeah, there are roles left for Parvati, but the major ones are done and dusted. So this serial could salvage itself if it rushes the Ramayan, then gets back to Mahadev only stories.

But the magic is clearly over

Ranjusha, did they give any reasons for why they don't want to show these stories in DKDM?

These things are actually related to Mahadev - if they don't show them in DKDM then where else are they going to show them?

If they will insert Mahadev into things where he wasn't necessarily involved then why won't they show these stories, where he is very much involved???

If they are worried about timelines(!) then they could always start off by showing these as flashbacks/someone telling someone else a story.

But I'm disappointed that they've ruled out Andhak, Ayappa and Manasa Devi. If this is a serial about Mahadev, shouldn't his entire family be shown - particularly since they are sourcing it from different sources? Andhak is one of the nicer stories, although it would have a problem from a timeline standpoint - since he was adapted out to Hiranyaksha and later continued his activities. It would neatly span the Satya-Yuga and Treta-Yuga divide.

Manasa Devi story would have to happen during or before the Mahabharata, since Manasa's son Rishi Asthika was the one who persuaded Janamejaya to end the massacre of Nagas.

Ayappa story can happen anytime, unless they are worried about offending Vaishnavas. But I'd think they've already pissed off Vaishnavas by showing Mahadev as running everything in the Ramayan

There's nothing to offend Vaishnavas here. Ayyappa is known as Hari-Hara putra.

If at all, the Shaivites may get offended since, Srimad Bhagavatham does not show Shiva in a favourable light. For instance, SB says Shiva got infatuated and began running after Mohini, blah blah...but the CVs can always sidestep that point (as they did with Bhasmasur).
