Actually there are plenty of stories in Tamil Literature on Shiva which will suit the CVs to the hilt. If only they are open to newer ideas. And they need not be even shown as happening somewhere in South. It can just be a random place, a random king.

I was surprised how they missed a good opportunity with the Mallikarjuna story.

Don't expect them to do any justice to South Indian stories. Minaxi, Murugan, Mallika Arjun all looked so funny in DKDM.

If at all, the Shaivites may get offended since, Srimad Bhagavatham does not show Shiva in a favourable light. For instance, SB says Shiva got infatuated and began running after Mohini, blah blah...but the CVs can always sidestep that point (as they did with Bhasmasur).

Speaking anecdotally, one guy (who I won't disclose) PMed me telling me that the Ayappa story makes Vaishnavas uncomfortable, since Vishnu, as Mohini, is shown becoming the wife of Shiva. I have no idea how representative that view is.

Yeah, I don't think either Mahabharata or SB show Shiva in good light - there, variously, characters such as Samba and Ashwatthama are referred to as his ansh avatar. Given how heinous the latter was, I am surprised that they put him down as a Shivavatar. That is one thing they'll have to sidestep when they show the Mahabharata. Similarly, they can't show Krishna's war w/ Shiva over Banasura, since the SB account describes Shiva as losing it (even though it was a part of Shiva's curse on Banasura)

The show always had the potential to be bigger, better n grander but stories n content could have been worked upon...they have kind of let down their own creativity n lead pair's hard work when occassions arose to raise the bar...!!!!!!

Well, Vaishnavas are generally uncomfortable adoring anything other than Hari - Lakshmi.

There is a funny story which comes to my mind.

Once a Vaishnava pundit was walking down a village road and since it was mid day took shelter under a temple pillar. A crow which was perched up on the temple tower dislodged one of the stones and the stone fell with a thud on the pundit's head. The pundit shrieked with pain and began cursing the crow. Then the pundit realized that it was a Shiva temple under which he had been standing. Now, the pundit began praising the crow- saying it was doing a commendable act- and that it must be a Vaishnava crow- since it was demolishing a Shiva temple.

Sorry- I am digressing from the topic. Back to DKDM Sonarika and Pooja...

Uma thanks for the video it gave more feeling when heard it from the horse's mouth. Felt bad for what happened to her but life goes and she will find her way and do something better.

Duped by the people that promised her big things. Not right and can never be justified. She is out of the current mess that DKDM is churning out in the form of Ramayan where she will have nothing more to do than she has been doing in past months but stand and smile.

Anyone imagined - what if Sona was in DKDM right now? Though we would say DKDM stories are crap, we wouldn't say, "Oh Sona is unlucky to be in such a bad part of the show!"
