Why use names and characters from the Puranas if you are going to weave you own story? Here Shiva is a Tibetian tribal chief who just happens to have bluish tinge on his throat. He seeks refuge in a kingdom where Sati happens to be the king's daughter and she is a child widow...Seriously...

I completely agree with you...the storyline, suspense were good...but its a completely different from purana...he took some happenning of Shiva and make a logical explanation by his own way...that"s his freedom...but why he used the same name and relation? Only just for publicity?

It is just that for some people using the name of Gods to depict any kind of fiction is not acceptable when MF Hussain tried to do something with Hindu Gods by painting them nude he had to leave the country. We live in a so called democratic country but are we really free.
I see more nudity carved on temples and it is described in detail in scriptures but we are surrounded by hypocrisy. If u question these things it leads to undending debates. Those who like to read and enjoy do so. No point in racking too much of brains here.😊

his story is based upon shiv, n the concept id different to what we knw.
So since his story is abt shiv, i dnt see any wrng in those names being used.
There is noo need to compare his book with the purans, bacause a comparison can't even be made amongst the two.
One should just enjoy his fiction as it is. Thats it!
I dnt get the reason of debate on such topics.

I think everyone should have their own image n ways to connect to god. No body has the proof of what god looks like. Or even if god is present in one form. Ppl shld be able to perceive god in their own ways without any remarks by others.

Amish Tripathi's books are purely fiction, he's just used the popular names. The content of these books is no way connected to our show DKDM. Let's discuss DKDM related things only here.
