Those who enjoy this show shld also try amish's immortal of meluha series. He has done a wonderful job in potreying lord shiva in a human form. A very wellwritten book with an amazing concept. The ieads of the book would surely make everyone perceive lord shiva in a purely different form.

recommend for all

i read two books.. IMMORTALS OF MELUHA and SECOND PART: SECRET OF NAGAS... and now waiting for third one...

they are nice.. characters and names given after shiva, parvati, sati, kali, ganesh... those names and characters given like mythological names...

nice book.. well written... good to read.. sends you into totally different world..

but 1 thing is certain.. it should not be mistaken to be mythology.. or story from puranas

Certainly not...there is no comparison to it with the puranas...
its an altogether different concept, but pure entertaining and absorbs the reader in its story line

Sorry to disagree... but I didn't the book /s at all. In fact, detested them. It is rare that I find a book unreadable and this was one of them.

Why use names and characters from the Puranas if you are going to weave you own story? Here Shiva is a Tibetian tribal chief who just happens to have bluish tinge on his throat. He seeks refuge in a kingdom where Sati happens to be the king's daughter and she is a child widow...Seriously...

though i didn't read fullly but ya i am aware of the concept..i found it amazing fictitious tale..which is sign of great creative mind but absolutely no connection with puran amrish tripathy only used the names from puran ..may be that's why the book became controversial and gained more publicity
one thing i disliked..ganesh is shiva's step son..Sati was married to anyone else too..now when god's name are being used then its hard to digest coz shakti can be married to shiv only and Ganesh can be Shiv-putra only (ok bappa is gaurinandan but then shiva gave him life with elephant's head)

I am yet to read the books. Wanted to, but talking to a few friends who have, I got the same feedback as Varaali had mentioned. Now I am not so sure.

Can't comment on anything before I read but if it is a work of fiction, why name the characters as such, Shiva or Ganesha are common names, but every name from the same puranas...does not quite sit well with me...
