Watchign so many serials with their own versions of the legends has made me immune I guess. I didn't even feel irked reading this but was laughing so much.

Since when did Lord Shiva have blue eyes? 😆 And his height and weight (in libs, that too) is known? 🤣

The note at the end was hilarious.

By the way, from what I know of the original Norse legends, the events of Ragnarok are yet to happen.

There are some similarities between Norse and Hindu legends.

That reminds me - I had some trouble explaining to an online friend who is neither Indian nor Norse that Thor and Indra are not the same 😳

Vibs

Both Thor & Indra are their respective deities of thunder, lightning & rain. Only difference is that Thor is the supreme head of the Norse pantheon, while that's not true about Indra (although apparently, it may have once been the case.)

I think the comic makers did a superficial study of all the religions, picked the best known parts of them (although how do they miss Shiva's weapons?) and then started fusing the stories. Maybe after some Hindu group protested, they ret-conned Thor's victory over Shiva to be a victory over Indra. Actually, in addition to what they know about Shiva's physique, what amused me was that Nandi is described as Shiva's pet (I'm guessing in the same way Cranger/Battle Cat was to Prince Adam/He Man, or Scooby Doo was for Shaggy). I wonder what they thought Shiva's vehicle was - a Shivmobile? 😆

To be fair, DKDM is a religious show (as in they are taking a serious approach to the issue with Shiva, Parvati, etc supposed to be the gods that people worship) whereas this is basically just superhero comics insanity. 😆

@Kal-ha ha ha!!!-that would be outrageous...
but you have a point egyptian and norse gods do not have much of a following today...but Indian Gods do...
about people in our country getting offended...even one mosquito is enough to offend them!🤣

On my part, I'm glad that the Hindu pantheon isn't left out. And since the DC Comic guys are not Hindus, I don't have any expectations that they should respect them, although yeah, I would prefer that the top gods - Shiva at least, would be spared from any embarrassment, such as defeat by Thor. Good ret-conn - getting Indra to substitute him & getting trashed. That does sound like our Indra 😆

But yeah, such a book should be made into a movie. Although I shudder to think about who's play the various Hindu deities 😲😆

Okay, okay, I won't give them ideas 😆

@Vrish-last i heard they are planning to make Ramayan with actors from the West...
😆..hey Ram!

there is this one version of the Mahabharata that my dad showed me-i dont remember its name but the entire cast was of different origins...like the Krishna was a Caucasian,Bhishma was a negroid,Duryodhan was Chinese, every member of the cast was from a different country with different accents
only Draupadi was Indian-Mallika Sarabhai
but trust me it looked weird...it was a very different interpretation though, and it was derived from an english play with the same star cast
however they put together the story very well
but in matters of casting weird!!!-plain weird!

ive also read a comic book by an Indian American Artist based on the Ramayan, where everyone looks robotic rather than human😆

That's Peter Brook's The Mahabharata made in the 80s. It was originally a 9-hour play that was later edited into a tv series (5+ hours) and a film (about 3 hours). An interesting adaptation.
