also making Thor fight with Shiva?honestly?

LOL in DC/Marvel comics , many of the different pantheons of deities from different cultures exist in the same reality. So Greek-Roman gods, Norse gods, Indian gods, etc all co-exist and it's inevitable that they would make them interact, team-up, fight, etc. 😆

But yea, I don't like that they had Thor defeat Shiva. Though they later retconned it (as you can read in the write-up).

Mixing odd things can produce interesting results too. And these are mostly superhero comics. The Thor in question is a superhero (who has been adapted into live-action movies portrayed by Chris Hemsworth) besides being a god. This whole shared universe stuff is a big thing in DC and Marvel comics.

Also, sci-fi and fantasy writers often like to mix and match gods. It can be interesting if executed well. What if Greek and Egyptian deities co-existed? How about the Indian ones too? Or what if all these myths were inspired by something else? Etc.

One thing: this is not a write-up for a comic book, rather it's just someone summarizing stuff that has already been written and published in certain comic books years ago.

@Kal-yeah i know it isnt a write up😆...i had heard of such stuff...mixing stuff isnt all bad,but you should have some respect while doing it...
for eg DKDM is a mythological bhelpuri...and it isnt bad!
like imagine if all Gods would come together and form justice league kinda thing...that would have been interesting...but making Gods of diffrent beliefs against each other..not happening...it leaves a lot a bitterness...it can be easily taken as promotion of one faith and putting down another
Indian Gods and our beliefs are highly misunderstood in the west, this article is a clear proof of that...
do some research and THEN try to make a comic like that

DC comics recently got out a nuclear super heroine called Rakshasi...with multiple arms, blue in colour who puts her foot on the enemies chest after defeating them
i dont know the plot though, but it looked kinda cool!

Shruti

You missed this part of the disclaimer

Clarifications

Shiva should not be confused with:
  • Shiva

  • Dr. Si Fan Chung, of the Nest, @ Marvel Team-Up Annual#1

  • Shiva

  • the computer program designed to kill those involved with the Weapon X program, @ Wolverine II#48

In other words, don't confuse Shiva w/ Shiva. That's where you're going wrong 😈😆 This write up doesn't make fun of Shiva; it makes fun of Shiva!

I actually like this idea of combining mythos, as long as they keep the good deities together, and the evil deities either together or separate. Like don't have Shiva battling Thor or Zeus (who are in any case the equivalents of Indra) But yeah, they could have Parvati, Lakshmi & Saraswati back different sides in the arguments b/w Hera, Athena & Aphrodite, or they could have Vishnu back Baldur and Shiva back Loki 😈😆, or have Hanuman pick up the Atlas mountains from Hercules, or Ravan make an alliance w/ the Trojans and Rama w/ the Greeks, and so on. The results would be fascinating.

DC Comics - the same guys who wrote Superman.

^^^ Not just that, but blue eyes, black hair and 510 lb

The weapons are a dead giveaway that Shiva is not Shiva - notice that both the trishul as well as the pasupatastra are missing
