My Thoughts on This Sudden Shift in Story

I know a lot of people here want Dev-Meera and this sudden Mehak-look alike angle is a whole throw off and stupid. Yesterday's episode was full of drama and now suddenly we have today's episode which continues that drama, but I have a feeling there's something else to this whole thing.

Firstly the sudden appearance of Mehak's look-alike and then the way she is easily found. It seems too much of a coincidence that within the period of a few days/weeks not only does Dev see Vani, but he finds her, reaches her house, and learns of her unhappy marriage.

The OTTness of Dr. Sahay. For a man who is supposedly cunning, he's making it overtly obvious that he beats his wife, that his wife is possibly not even his wife, and that he suspects her of having an affair with Dev.

The OTTness of Vani. She's been married for 6 years and yet has no signs of domestic violence. And I don't mean just physical. Mentally she should be a wreck. She shouldn't be so easily to go about doing basic activities. And why is she giving Dev such obvious clues about her not being happy in her marriage? Shouldn't it be the opposite?

The attempts to hide the fired gun. As soon as that happened, I knew that there was a bigger plan at hand. Dr. Sahay wants to trap Dev in some type of illegal activity and as can be seen from the precap he does that by killing the ACP in Dev's car and blaming Dev for it.

The same tattoo. When they showed that tattoo from last week it reminded me of Red John (Mentalist) or the Eye (CID) or the Hand (CSI) or the Clown (Agent Raghav) and so on. It indicated a bigger game at play, maybe an old foe or a large network of illegal activities. Now the same can be seen on ACP's foot. My guess is that Dr. Sahay has it somewhere as well on his body and possibly Vani as well.

Vani is far from innocent. Like I mentioned above, she doesn't look like someone facing domestic violence. And her obvious attempts of faking that she's fine make me feel like there's something else to her. Additionally, she lets out more information than is necessary to Dev and it almost seemed forced. Not only that, but when Dev invited her and Dr. Sahay to his house, she made many moves to remind Dev of Mehak, which Dr. Sahay stopped. Again a bit too obvious in my belief.

Dev pushing Zohra Apa away from him. Dev is intuitively smart and can see things that others can't. I have a hard time believing that he is so blinded by Vani that he can't see the bigger picture behind it. Something tells me that the way he has suddenly turned on Zohra Apa means he's preparing for something big and maybe so that Zohra Apa doesn't get hurt in the process, he's pushing her away. Alternatively, both of them might be acting as if this misunderstanding has developed between them. I feel the latter is highly possible.

And of course the series is soon coming to an end. Unless the CVs plan on carrying this over to the next season, they are going to want to wrap this series up on a high note. And what better way than a plan to trap Dev, he saves himself, and we see the start of a new romance as this chapter closes.

Very smartly sensibly written post @Athene ... !! 😉
I have been watching Dev since start n I cant just stop watching suddenly 😭Considerring I have a respect for creatives team for hardwork in bringing creative different show n Ofcourse Ashish aka Dev n Sumona aka Meera actors. but still I m trying to watch Show skipping Dev Mehak scenes which I find forced ones ... everything is bearable but seriously cvs going way too much with Dev trying to get close to someone else wife n kissing her :( 🤢😭...I so wanted to kick cvs butt n shake Dev's head

poor Zohra apaa😭 I just couldnt able to see her teary eyes n Meera too poor her she is trying her level best to solve Vani mehak mystery which I loved today how she was all detective mode ... good job girl power. 👏

I wish after seeing Dev kissing Vani 🤢...Meera better u ignore Dev from now on ...😡

Although this angle sounds interesting, can't get myself to watch the show again. For the sheer reason that they ruined it completely so close to the finale. Even if it is some big plan, it's extremely silly to show that he kisses someone else just coz she looks like his dead wife.
And the sudden shift in the dynamics between so many characters is so stupid coz all the past episodes mean nothing anymore (Narvekar- Meera angle is ridiculous too. If they wanted them to be together, they should have built it up from the beginning. Two very strong characters wasted for a seemingly obsessed detective and his boring look-alike).

It would have been better had they just concentrated on the plot and not ruined it with all this love shit. It's not practical and quite forced tbh. None of the couples or relations make any sense anymore. I don't know why you would ruin a perfectly good show with such a silly love story. Quite disappointed with the turn it room and seemingly how it'll end!

@ Saaniakh and Jj30: Hey I'm with you on the whole thing being ruined and kissing another's wife. I FFed through today's episode watching only the parts that didn't have Vani or Dr. Sahay in it, but even with the FFing I caught and understood enough to know that I don't feel like stopping until I see next week. If next week it gets completely ruined then that's different.

I just don't see the CVs ruining all their hard work with such ridiculousness. They must have another reason behind this week's stupidity and that precap.

I agree with you.. very brilliant analysis...
Dev and mehak scene... it's seems forced.. she behaving like pativartha abla nari... i hate it...
I think vani or mr sahey wants to trap dev...
When dev kissing vani meera is crying that means meera have feeling for dev...

I absolutely agree with you Shreya and your analysis is on point!
One thing that intrigued me was when Dr. Sahay said he was in a long coma. It could be possible that during that time, Vani left him and became Mehek, but returned back to him once he regained consciousness out of fear (or some other misplaced emotion)? This seems pretty far fetched, but I feel like if there is no larger plot or game at play, then this would be a more tame explanation. Either way, I'm looking forward to seeing how they're gonna tie up all the loose ends. Anyone know how many more episodes in this season?

Gun you watch the show as well? 😲

Based on a 26 episode series, 6 more episodes are left. There was a week in between with no episodes.

It's possible that next week and the week after they'll probably continue this drama, the murder accusation on Dev and all, and the last week will be an emotional wrap-up of sorts with a small case added to the mix.

Oh I hope Vani isn't Mehak. That would be a really far fetched explanation (like you pointed out) and it would suddenly make Dr. Sahay seem justified in doing what he did because his wife "cheated" him. Not only that how do you explain Mehak's death? She died, had to be examined by a doctor and get a death certificate, and was buried and no one managed to find that she was alive in the process?

I agree with the clan theory and Mr Sahay's plan to trap Dev. As for Mehek, she must've married Dev to reach Swami but developed feelings for him, hence the suggestion of shifting to another city.
S2 seems doubtful cos they've covered pretty much all sorts of crimes plus S1 is already dragging due to lack of content.

I like your theory and I am really hoping Vani is not Mehak. When Dev first saw Vani I thought this could be interesting but the past few episodes have been a complete let down, it didn't have the charm of the previous episodes in this series.
