Chapter 9

Seeing Manyata fainting, Rohan himself felt dizzy. He immediately ran

towards her, shaking her.

"Manyata ! Manyata, open your eyes please." He sprinkled some water on

her face, still shaking her.

Manyata slowly opened her eyes, battling her eyebrows. Sitting up in his

embrace, her eyes instantly clouded with tears. She shook herself free

and got up.

"Manyata, he will be fine." Rohan murmured "Please trust me."

"It's all because of me. It's my fault." She whispered as the tears made

there way down again. Before Rohan could say anything, the doctor came

out of the operation theatre, making them run towards him.

"Doctor, how's Maan ? He is fine, na ?" Manyata asked frantically, hoping

for the best.

"I am sorry but when you brought him in, he had lost a lot of blood. We

have tried our best but ..." The doctor stopped and looked at the pale

faces "He has slipped into coma." He sighed and walked away, leaving

them alone.

Rohan was the first to recover and looked at Manyata in shock to see her

non - responsive state.

"Manyata !" He shook her trying to break her from her revives. But she

shook herself free and ran out of the hospital. He didn't follow her thinking

that leaving her alone would be the best.

She walked in a daze, remembering the day Maan was born, when she had first held him, when her brother had given him to her, when she had

promised to take care of him ...

She sat down on the bench by the road side and cried her heart out. After

hours she collected herself and walked inside the hospital with a new

determination. She would nurse Maan back to health.

"Manyata, where did you go ? I was so worried." Rohan hugged her in

relief. "I am so sorry. It was indeed my fault. I ... I should have been more

careful." He whispered.

"Maan will be fine, Rohan. He will be with us again; playing, running, talking

..." She said looking him in the eye. While Rohan shivered slightly. He

hadn't seen this side of her. he was used to her looking up to him for help

and support.

Manyata sat beside Maan, holding his hand in hers. Suddenly her phone

rang, diverting her attention. Her face paled looking at the caller ID. She

picked up the phone hesitatingly.

"Hel .. Hello" She whispered.

"Where the hell are you ? You haven't visited the bar once this week and

your performance is due this evening and you are still missing. I want you

here in 30 minutes." Thundered a voice from the other end.

"I am sorry but I cannot be there today." Manyata said in a determined

voice.

"Oh really !" Sneered the caller at the other end. "Don't forget everything,

Manyata. Or maybe have you forgotten everything already?" She could

clearly hear the mocking tone in his voice.

"Please try to understand, Vikram. I cannot come today."

"I don't care. I want you here in 30 minutes." Snapped Vikram and the line went dead.

Manyata kept on staring at the phone in her hand with a blank look and she finally wiped her tears and got up.

she had made a decision and she was going to work it out !

So how was it ?

I know, i was supposed to update half of it but my laptop has gone for formatting and i lost the data ... 😡

Seems like i am having all these problems at once ... 😆

But don't worry, i will update soon and ... there probably is a new thing building up in my mind ... 😉
