Part Three

They were driving along the route happily. They were in their private car without security. They just wanted to go back to Mumbai as Manyata had to continue her lessons and he had to attend to hotel business. They had almost reached Mumbai when a van sped in front of them.

Udayveer frowned.

"This route usually is vacant now. Why are they in such a rush?," he said aloud.

"Who knows. People can be strange at times. Remember when I first came to the rajmahal. I didn't know why everyone was staring at me,"Manyata quipped.

He glanced at her with his signature smirk.

Suddenly he stiffened when she screamed.

He turned to see the van had stopped and was now stopped in their way. He slammed on the breaks.

His eyes snapped wide open, as he realized this time the screams were coming from the bedroom Manyata was sleeping in. He got up and realized he had fallen asleep in the office. He got up and headed over to the bedroom.

He opened the door to see her sitting up in bed.

She realized a presence and looked up to see Udayveer. She sighed and rushed over to hug him tightly.

"Tum theek toh ho?," she inquired.

He patted her cheek.

"Hum hain yahan, bilkul theek hain princess. Now tell me did you have a bad dream?," he inquired.

She was thoughtful.

"I don't know what it was. You were hurt and I was trying to reach you. I yelled to warn you, but I don't know if I was able to..," she trailed off.

He held her by the upper arms.

"You did save me Manyata. It's because of your love and strength I am alive today," he declared.

He helped her lay down. She grabbed his wrist. He turned to face her.

"Kya hua?"

"Just stay here please," she pleaded.

" Don't worry I am here," he assured her.

He laid down beside her. Each stayed on their own side. He watched her until her breathing slowed down and she lulled into a calm sleep. He took her hand in his and kissed it.

The next morning, the staff had arrived. She was up earlier, drying her hair. She paused when she saw him enter the room.

"Ab kaisa lagra hai tumko?," he inquired.

She smiled slightly.

"I am fine. I just wondered there is a scar on my upper back. Do you know how I got that?," she inquired nonchantly.

He wasn't sure at first if he should tell her but then again that had happened by accident when they were kids.

" We were playing with swords when we were kids. I accidently hit you. We both cried together afterwards," he quipped.

She smiled at him.

"Is that how you always know I am me?," she asked.

He looked at her stunned was she remembering something.

Then she turned back to her hair. He turned away disappointed and decided to get cleaned up before breakfast.

They sat down for breakfast. He had French toast and she had her gobi paranthas. She looked over at his breakfast. She grabbed a fork and grabbed some off his plate and gobbled it down. He stared at her wide eyed.

"Kya hua? Main aap ki biwi hoon. Muhje haaq hai," she stated.

"That's fine Manyata but you have syrup all over your chin and lips," he hissed.

She looked at him wide eyed.

" Really? So I should ..," she trailed off as his finger touched her chin.

His eyes met hers.

She moved slightly back he moved in closer and soon their lips met. She returned his kiss.

She sat back and turned to look at her plate. He grabbed some off her plate. She merely looked at him.

"Hum aap ke pati hai. Huhme haaq hain," he retorted.

She couldn't believe she had kissed her husband, a man she didn't remember marrying. In fact she still had lots to relearn about her life. She chewed slowly. He was already on his second cup of coffee when she finished.

"Manyata I was thinking, we should go out. This time we'll go together. I can't risk you wandering around when you don't know the city," he stated.

She looked at him.

"That's fine. I just think I should call my mother before we go out," she stated.

"Theek hain. I'll get your cell for you. I have already fed the numbers in there," he stated.

She smiled at him.

"Thanks," she said.

Manyata felt better talking to Komal. She hadn't told her she had kissed Udayveer but told her she felt strange because she didn't remember anything about their life together. What she did all day and what did he do all day? Was she being a burden on him?

Komal assured her Udayveer was understanding and no was expecting her to remember everything overnight.

"Beta I will talk to your father. I think it would be better for you two to be here with us in Mumbai. However we need to make sure it is safe for you here," Komal stated.

"Lekin Ma, all Udayveer has told me that some incident had happened. Why did he bring me all the way to London?," she inquired.

" He brought you there because you'll be safe there and you have been to London last year after the wedding,"Komal assured her.

"Oh ok. Give my regards to everyone. I hope I can remember soon," she said.

"Manyata we all love you, take care of yourself and Udayveer. I hope he can stop blaming himself," her mother said.

"Don't worry Ma. I'll make sure he stays in a good mood. Bye love you all," she said before hanging up the phone.

Udayveer awaited her entrance by the car outside. He reached around and tucked in her scarf better.

She smiled at him brightly.

" I want to go everywhere we went the last time we were here. If possible do everything we did last time," she insisted.

He smiled brightly.

"Then let's see what we can recapture princesss," he declared.

They sat in the car together and Udayveer gave the driver instructions.

They arrived at a subway station. Manyata looked around in surprise.

"We came here?," she inquired.

"Yes you wanted to travel the trains here. We ended up in Paris for a late dinner and we did lots of sight seeing and shopping," he stated.

She placed her hand in his.

"Then let's do it again," she exclaimed as she grasped his hand with hers.
