Part Two

Udayveer called up Unnati soon after they arrived back at the mansion. His father had it built when he had married their mother. They had stayed here when they were studying here in London and held many parties with their friends here. Now many of them were all spread out busy in their own lives, they would meet on special events or when in each other's cities for business and pleasure trips.

Most of the staff for this place had not yet arrived. They had arrived with short notice. They were supposed to come here a few months down the road. However the incident had changed plans. Manyata needed to see this doctor and everyone thought it was better they both stayed away from Mumbai for awhile. They had been coming back from Jaighard when the incident had happened.

Udyaveer sighed and dialed his sister's number. She had always been his constant support. Yes she had fumbled when Manyata still thought Akash was her true love but now things had started to mend.

"Unnati I really want to tell her everything but the doctor said we need to take it slow with her," he stated.

Unnati was thoughtful she knew her brother had to work hard to gain Manyata's love the first time around and now he had to start all over.

" Dada you have to win her heart all over again. Be her support, when things calm down in a few days, you both can return home and we can all help her remember who she is," Unnati assured him.

"Unnati you are right. However I really miss Manyata , I made vows to her. I plan to keep them. I'll never give up on her," he declared.

In the distance there was scampered footsteps and a door slamming. Udayveer turned to see the door slam shut.

"Unnati, I'll have to call you back," he stated.

He ran outside. She was already down the block. He messaged his sister.

Manyata may have heard everything.

Her mind was racing. They were married? Then why did he stay away from her? As far as she knew married couples weren't like this unless something really awful happened to cause this. Had she done something wrong or maybe he had?

She didn't know because she had no idea he was her husband until she heard him on the phone.

She stopped short on a random street. She had no idea where she was. Even if she has been here before, she had no idea how to get back to the mansion. She wanted to say so many things and to know why he had brought her here in a hurry. Her mind began spinning. She didn't know where to turn.

In the distance a bicyclist was coming up the path. She didn't realize this but soon strong arms pulled her out of the way just in time.

She looked up to see Udayveer.

"What were you doing? He could have hit you! You really shouldn't be going around on your own!," he exclaimed.

She had caught her breath and punched him in the chest.

"Why didn't tell me the truth? Why are so always keeping me at arm's length if we are married?," she cried.

He held her firmly as she sobbed and pounded her fists at him a few times.

"The doctors have been telling me to take it slow with you. You have to remember everything on our own. We can guide you but too much information at a time can be overwhelming for you,"Udayveer said as they sat down with coffee in the parlor.

She nodded.

"So let me decide for now how much is too much. Give me some clue Udayveer. I want to remember something. Is there something you can show me or tell me for now?," she inquired.

Udayveer sighed. He took out her manglasutra from his pocket.

"I guess we can start with this," he stated.

She smiled slightly.

"Can you put it on my neck?," she inquired.

He merely nodded. She turned and lifted her hair up. He placed it on her neck.(Imagine wedding mantras in the background)

He smiled as she turned to face him. He straightened the pendent in the front. She got a bit shy and tried to hide her blushing. He pinched her cheek.

"I think this is good for now. I am here with you Manyata. No matter how long it takes, I'll be here when you need me," he promised.

She nodded.

"Thank-you. This must be difficult for you but I promise I'll try to remember everything soon," she stated.

Later that night he tucked her in. He gazed at her lovingly. Then he recalled what had caused all this to happen. His expression turned grim. However he knew he was lucky to be alive and with her. She had saved his life that day.
