very good topic for discussion!!

i agree with topic maker and Mais & Dikshi92!!

i started watching the serial much later when my dear friend Minnie suggested i give DEK a try!
i watched the serial on setindia youtube, Moniya's character was interesting & Priyal did full justice to that Akash in the beginning was ok but when they started to show him falling for Moniya it was hard to digest, the chemistry lacked and the actor (Abhishek) didn't suit the character of Akash! I remember the 1st date of MonAsh where Akash takes M for show Mumbai i was so bugged i fast forwarded all their scenes this was much before i like Uday or ManVeer.
Infact, i enjoyed Jai - Uday scenes a lot, i was initially rooting for them from the very first scene when a wet Jai get's out of her car only to taunted by Uday (his introduction scene) their chemistry was evident!!!

We had a topic earlier where a member was asking wht if Akash was played by tellywood hunks like Karan Takar, Gurumeet, Harshad, Arjun, Sushant?? will it be the same!!

this made me think what exactly is the problem with Akash!
Firstly, the character is poorly written and Abhishek is terrible miscast. Having any of the above actors playing the character would at least lead good chemistry b/w MonAsh & Akash character would be much more relatable in the sense the childish antics , i love you talks and day dreaming would be bit easier to watch and accept but nothing beyond this can happen! Because the major flaw lies in the characterization!

Secondly, the die hard fans wud still root for the favorite actor for them the actor comes before the character and our forum would have regular debate sessions b/w MonAsh & ManVeer😆

so my conclusion is that Abhishek is a major miscast for playing Akash, he might be good actor ( i haven't seen his earlier works) but this role doesn't suit him and the poor characterization makes it a dead end situation!

cheers

I completely agree with you. You echoed my thoughts completely.

The other day I was watching DEK in very low volume with my parents sitting beside me and suddenly that MonAsh phone conversation scene came. My dad's instant question was "Is he her dad?" And was in spills literally and during the whole conversation I was imagining him as her dad😕😆

I'll tell you, MonAsh aren't that bad, but the casting is terrible

And I agree with Mais even more😆

All in all, though I want a love story of MaanVeer, yet I would accept MonAsh (if they are the destined soulmates) if they replace Abhishekh.

LOL Chakku at your dad's comment. 😆
You are right though. Maybe Monash wouldnt be so bad if they replace Abhishek.
Thanks so much for your reply.😳

Another post I agree with. Perhaps if we had another actor playing the role, the fact that Akash is a poorly written character may have been overlooked, if there was chemistry with Priyal but here it is absolutely non existant!
And it would have been fun to see fans of both Monash and Manveer debating why their couple are soulmates.
In fact I wonder if there are ANY fans of Akash on this forum. Maybe I shold make a post and ask?😆
Thanks Kai for your wonderful reply.😳

Personally, i feel that AK's strong screen presence as Uday overshadowed Abhishek's because at the start, i found Akash to be sweet. But as soon as i saw Uday, i was like he's the right one for Manyata & i was instantly drawn to his character.
Great post, btw :)

fully agree with Kai
@red- I am yet to find one😆
Manveer any day for me. The fans amuse me though. 😆
I can see all fangirls defending veer even if he manhandles manyata by making comments like "uff mein mar jawa! he looks hawt /dashing/ delicious while hurting her" and so on
