Great post DB👏 .. as usual😃
look beyond the obvious
in the video the woman is beating up the man, in the middle of it a cop car passes by, if the man flags down the cops and reports, the woman gets handcuffs. he chooses to be valiant and fight his own battle
there are laws in a democracy regards abuse, if someone chooses not to utilize them, not the society's problem.
In a civilized society, what happens inside a household is the responsibility of that household, there are laws to prevent abuse, if someone chooses not to report abuse, it is their problem, may it be a man or a woman.
Thanks Vineet bhai for your response .. it is good to see you ..
You raised a good point here ... I am totally against abuse of anykind by any one .. but don't you think it is true that it is unlikely to get seriouse injuries by women compare to man ...
This topic is indeed very close to my heart.. some incidences has left permenant imprint on my heart ... infact back home such situations are very common among low socio economic group .. death of a women in domestic voilence usually get some small space on page 15 of a news paper .. and for us it is .. well ..usual ... I got first real shock when I recieved one of my senior in emergency with broken arm broken leg and ruptured liver .. her husband beat her on road infront of their house and none of the neighbours interfered thinking it a domestic problem .....
So should we still mind our own business in such situations?

I trully feel sorry for you friend about the situation, however
I think Raunaq has said what I wanted to say
IMO, it is first the responsibility of that person to get themselves out of the situation, that person is generally an adult, understands what is wrong and what is right
I as a citizen, I respect the privacy of their household, so that forbids me from reaching out, if they want to reach out to me and ask for help I certainly will and that is my boundary and feel should be the boundary of every person who is not a part of the household.

This topic is somehow considered a feminist topic.. and many of our male friends dont like to comment on this ... as if blame is on all men .. Though it is not true. it is just like the case of bank robery where you find more men involved compare to women . Not every man rob a bank .. same way not every man batter his wife.
While reading some discussion about this topic I came across certian points which were discussed. I would like to ask same questions to all of you .. plz do respond what you really feel about this problem .. you can add any experience or example which you observed sometime in your life after the answers
Do you think it is not true that only Men are batterers ? Is it easy to see one specific pattern among batterers and we can predict somehow about the situation ? It is true that most of the problem occur because of poor anger management of batterers? Do you think Psychotherapy is a more effective treatment than prison ? Is it true that women often provoke men into battering them ? Women who stay in abusive relationship specially in north america with full awareness of social services must be crazy ?
- Is it true that battered women could stop battering by changing their own behavior?
Nice post!👏

Women can be very abusive also without a doubt.
Is it easy to see one specific pattern among batterers and we can predict somehow about the situation ?
yes.. they have a pattern. a person who thinks it is justifiable to raise their hand / assault weapon on someone, they won;t think twice before repeating it, unless they are punished severely first time around- which most battered women don't :(
It is true that most of the problem occur because of poor anger management of batterers?
sometimes it is poor anger managment- but mostly it is the upbringing. "aadmi hai, isliye haath uthh jaataa hai, kounsee badee baat hai" is wrong thinking and if it is deep rooted, then the hand will never be tied down by conscience. 🤢
Do you think Psychotherapy is a more effective treatment than prison ?
if the therapist is not a quack, absolutely. The trouble with such men hoever is their general disregard for the system. They are usually very adamant arrogant individuals.
Is it true that women often provoke men into battering them ?
sometimes.. but again, battering is not justified. there are other ways to control the situation.
Women who stay in abusive relationship specially in north america with full awareness of social services must be crazy ?
they are not crazy, but many of them (our clients) were married off with dowry😉 yet no education. they dont hate their husbands either. even they share similar cultural values? that "aadmi garam dimag wala aur taakat wala hota hai, kabhi haath chal gayaa to koi gal nahee ji"
they are reaching out more that before- a good sign.
Is it true that battered women could stop battering by changing their own behavior?
Yes.. they should not just threaten to call police, but should call them. Over here, the husband will spend atleast a night in the jail. if another complaint is made, he can face severe consequences. Women should stop pitying thmeselves and know that it is never too late to stand on their feet atleast here.
