my favourite topic currently 🤣

i prefer both... as both have pros n cons for me....

coming to WFH.... cons are mainly on health side.... wen prons are high on family , personal and professional life....

WFH... helped me to understand to balance between family and work hours... spend time with them... talk to them... chill with them.... even its just for 5mts,... then continue work.... gives refereshing relax mind feel...

on health wise... sitting in front of laptop/desktop increases eye pressure, headache as common... another major problem is... getting lazy.... walking is less... other physical activity getting less....

during WFO time, we use to walk. atleast from gate to office.... in betweem goin for a coffee break... lunch break... we get some physical activity compared to WFH...

in professional way seen. WFO s more better in case of team work . its easy to convey the task or things face to face than email, or video calls or audio calls.... the other person will be sure f how busy we are on our work.. rather making them assume we are lying f being busy...

having chit chats in between work... goin for breaks... increases healthy team relation, and reduces stress .....

WFH is a dream come true for working mothers like me who want to be at home and working when my 6 yo son comes home from school.

Don’t have to spend money on day care or anything if we’re doing WFH.

But, it’s hectic and no gap at all b/w personal and professional life.

At times, I feel that WFO has less work than WFH.

But, WFH is worth it. My parents or in-laws can go on temple trips without being bound to a nanny job for my son

WFH for me.

This is the best thing to have happened to many in Mumbai city as we don't have to travel. This is a lot safer and convenient option. In IT you have to give 9 working hrs... excluding the lunch breaks when you are at higher position. That sums up around 10hrs in the office and then add min 2hrs for travelling. I was out for most of the day back then. Couldn't even speak my family properly as I used to be tired with no seating train travelling! This is the one of the con of WFO. Travelling has no alternative at all.

Agreed that WFH is having an effect on people's health. They are gaining weight, eyesight problem, etc etc. But all of this is something that we can solve if we adopt a healthy lifestyle and exercise. Also in WFH, an employee can take a small break inbetween work hours and compensate for it during the rest of the day. It is a very flexible structure for which earlier we had to take a half day leave resulting in loss of pay/leave.

About meeting different people or making friends, maybe organisations can call up employees for few days. Like my organisation had a workshop in the past week which encouraged people to meet and discuss upskilling, had a fun event as well. Something like this can be arranged for social gatherings.
