Humans are not the only living beings in this universe.
Other beings could be living in their own realm which could be invisible to us. Before a human being is reborn as a human or an animal etc he or she will have to "hang around" or wait somewhere in their spirit form. Those with too much wicked thoughts would be hanging around as demons ! Yucks !

I don't know - there was a time when thinking that the world is round and people magically stick to it somehow was just as hilarious as believing in ghosts today.

Science and technology are not sophisticated enough yet to explain the phenomena people call 'ghost experiences'.

It can be a geographic, chemical, psychological, etc. phenomena - no one really knows for sure.

Voted for 'cant say'.

i believe spirits exist because its simple science. energy is neither created nor destroyed, it only transforms from one thing to another.

Usually the body decomposes and the energy is transferred to everything like bacteria which causes the decomposition.

When burnt, the energy is spent on burning.

When alive, a human constantly 'kills' plants and animals to utilize their energy to live.

I'm an atheist and so I don't believe in any supernatural powers but for those people who believe in god if there's a positive energy in the world there has to be a negative energy to balance it out. Positive energy has no value i.e.valueless if there's no negative energy. So, if there's god there's also ghost. Even in our epics, there're clearly both the forces everywhere, if there're too many gods then there're too many devils too.

Our minds are also the creator of many things we see including Ghosts and Spirits. Because we believe in them they become real...so too with God, we create our own God and they become real and we reap the benefit.
