India admires Pakistan's television dramas,

Sorry, that's a wrong statement by BBC....pakistani shows are not even telecasted in India, thus the whole thing of its being respected is out of question

yes,and that's precisely why pakistani soaps arent popular...India boasts of unity in diversity.,...Everyone's so diverse in India....The Malayalam Speaking population wouldnt want to watch any hindi/urdu soap...thus why would they want to watch a Pakistani soap....Similarly,a Tamilian /andhraite wouldnt want to watch a Urdu/punjabi soap.....similRLY A BENGALI wouldnt want to watch a urdu soap...Thus there's hardly any demand..and the hindi speaking population is contented watching the hindi soaps...But,in Pakistan, urdu being the only desi official language, and hindi being similar to urdu, and MAINLY BECAUSE PEOPLE WANT TO WATCH THE INDIAN SOAPS(MAINLY KEKTA SOAPS) the indian soaps do enjoy viewership...Whereas in India, there's no demand, and thus the shows arent being telecast😛
as far as urdu and punjabi r concered...i CANT understand punjabi...and speaking it? haah 4get it....ask aparna di..she knows 😉

fine, perhaps they are not similar but Point was,Urdu and hindi are similar(hindi is afterall a mix of Urdu and Sanskrit😛),and that's why the pakistani viewers(whose official language is NOT hindi) watch the HINDI soaps....But the Indian audience, who do not know hindi/urdu wouldnt want to watch a Urdu/punjabi soap.....and even those who know urdu arent too keen on watching a Pakistani soap,as there are so many soaps in India itself which people find interesting

Ok, me back!!! :)

First of all, let me say a few things. All the points I made in my past replies were not only for Ekta shows. But for every Indian soap. They all are same and inspired by Ekta jee!!! Many shows start of good, but then slowly they all turn into "policy making agencies" and all those 1 dozen marriages and remarriages. I started watching Yeh meri Life hai, thinking it's a different show, after some time it was same old thing. Kareena Kareena was different and Jab Love Hua is defiantly good. But if u see the majority of the soaps, they ALL are same, with similar storylines.

And a point was made that, we, as in Pakistanis, should have no right in pointing fingers on Indian Shows!!! I can only say that as a viewer of those, we have every right to talk about them, and criticize them also!!! Doesn't matter if I am Pakistani, Indian or Bangladeshi!!!

As for Indian artist's talent, I strongly believe that Pakistani artists are better…………. Way better!!!! Rajeev and Amna and all others were not called coz Pakistan has a lack of talent. They were called coz of their fan following from both sides of the border, and of course for money making thing. The production team will be getting money from both Pakistan and India. What more do they need??? ARY Digital, says that they are an "international channel" so that's why they keep calling artists from India.

Aparna di, I don't know what drama you watched and in what year, but dramas on PTV have always been classic. And now it is getting bigger and more advanced.

If you have time, visit www.muziq.net or www.pakistanvision.com and watch the dramas there. From Unkahi to Barsoon baad, all are great dramas. Regional shows might be low budgeted and strictly for ppl of that region, but dramas which are made on national level have always been great. You seriously need to see some dramas.

If India is not showing Pakistani dramas, then it's not Pakistan's headache!!! Seriously!!! There are enough viewers of those Dramas all around the world. So if India isn't showing them, so its ok!!! Pakistani mags carry reviews of English series too, it's a whole package, ppl interested read what they want to read.

When I went to India in 1990, I saw PTV in the home we stayed their. And they were great fans of it, they were glued to the TV at 8:00pm to watch "guest house" (A Pakistani Drama)

As a neutral viewer, I don't think anything is lacking in Pakistani serials. Wearing same type of sarees with different color is NOT glamour!!!

In this whole debate, I don't understand one thing, why are ppl taking and making wrong meaning of comments posted by the Pakistani members. I think you all should see what is written on here, instead of assuming things.

sana if magazine give you an update or exerpt from Indian shows. Its all about "demand" and "supply". The magazine wants to sell and will give you anything that has its demand. Therefore the Pakistani people demand the updates (just like members do on I-F) and therefore the Magazine supllies it to them. They don't do it for charity sake. Publishing this material is making them earn money through the sale of the magazine that is co-related to the demand.

Now the Indian Magazines do not do the same as their is simply no demand for Pakistani shows.
It is clear in Pakistan that there is a new wave of filmmakers who are tackling the traditions of Pakistani Cinema. The industry in Lahore is on its last legs as it has been utterly rejected both by the public and the government. What I saw at the Karachi festival was a fresh approach to filmmaking by a new generation who will undoubtedly have a major say in where the future lies for the Pakistani film industry.

The strong points in Pakistan are the television drama serials. India admires Pakistan's television dramas, whereas Pakistan respects India's film industry.
it is an except from an article frm BBC heres the link http://www.bbc.co.uk/bradford/films/2005/irfan_bollywood_tri p.shtml

BBC gave a wrong statistic, totally unconvincing. Where's the data? In my state(West Bengal), I never heard about anyone watching Pakistani serials. I studied in a regional engg. college(where people from all over India come to study), no one ever informed me about Pakistani serials. No one in my work-place too. Only after coming to US I am learning about them, that too after joining IF.

BBC must be talking about the Indians living in UK not India.

we said saba appi 👏 👏 👏

ypu people are attacking everything we are saying just because we are pakistani and you think we are being biased 😭

that is as far from the truth as u can get....ive said it befoe and i will say it again..i will watch anything as long as i understand the language...so when im watching a drama or a movie i dont watch it cuz itz made py pakistan or by india or america or watever. i watch wat i find interesting. if i were supporting pakistani dramas only because they are pakistani would i say that pakistani movies suck? as ive said b4...i dont watch pakistani movies because they are not worthy of my viewership...but i do waatch pakistani dramas and that too with a lot of interest. i watch bollywood films but i dont like the indian serials. maybe its just my taste (many mnay other ppl feel the same way too tho)..but i feel tht india's film industry is a lot better than its drama industry and it is vice versa in pakistan

But if u see the majority of the soaps, they ALL are same, with similar storylines.Sabah YMLH and Kareena Kareena are the worst examples of what could be good non- Ekta show. They were most mediocre in comparison to the old shows that came 4-5 years ago and many are being repeated now on Sony- Alpavira, Saaya, Kora Kagaz, Hubahu and some names that are slipping me now. 😭I don't watch that many shows currently on TV so can't say i like any in particular and want to recommend.

And a point was made that, we, as in Pakistanis, should have no right in pointing fingers on Indian Shows!!! I can only say that as a viewer of those, we have every right to talk about them, and criticize them also!!! Doesn't matter if I am Pakistani, Indian or Bangladeshi!!!I second you here. But your knowledge is based on Ekta and some latest mediocre shows.

As for Indian artist's talent, I strongly believe that Pakistani artists are better…………. Way better!!!! Rajeev and Amna and all others were not called coz Pakistan has a lack of talent. What more do they need??? ARY Digital, says that they are an "international channel" so that's why they keep calling artists from India.I strongly disagree , check out the list of names in my previous post about talented TV actors and actresses. I can tell you these Indian actors are Emmy award worthy. I will not say anything about Pakistani actors as i haven't watched any latest shows. But i am certain i don't doubt their acting ability. Before watching the actors named by rajeev ka heer plz don't pass judgement.

Aparna di, I don't know what drama you watched and in what year, but dramas on PTV have always been classic. And now it is getting bigger and more advanced. i watched them in my school dayslike dhoop kinare and another one i really can't recall as its been a 1-2 years for me since i left school.😳

If you have time, visit www.muziq.net or www.pakistanvision.com and watch the dramas there. From Unkahi to Barsoon baad, all are great dramas. Regional shows might be low budgeted and strictly for ppl of that region, but dramas which are made on national level have always been great. See this is what we are debating there must be SOMETHING that doesn't attract Indian viewers to Pakistani shows. As they are satisfied with what they get at home. But Pakistani's turn to Indian shows to satisfy themselves. Why are they not satisfied with that they get at their homes.

In this whole debate, I don't understand one thing, why are ppl taking and making wrong meaning of comments posted by the Pakistani members. I think you all should see what is written on here, instead of assuming things.
