😕 What are you all doing? I hope you guys are just arguing for fun basis. This topic shouldn't have gotten out of hand.
This topic has no end to it. Pakistanis will always defend their shows and Indians will defend their side.
This world is pouring with fine actors and they can come from either Pakistan or India. To say that only Pakistan produces better actors just shows biased opinions. Why can't you agree that both the countries have actors according to its culture and taste? I have seen Umar Sharif and Rima and some other Pakistani actors being invited to many Indian celebrity functions. Similiarly, I have seen Sonu Nigam and some other Indian actors in Pakistani movie award functions.
And now Indian movies are trying to work with Pakistani actors. Actually the trend started with Raj kapoor production ,"Heena." where Zeba, a pakistani actress was taken as a lead role. She was pretty cute in the movie.
GUys it's just a Man-made borderline that divide the two countrty....we come from the same blood line, so how can we be so different. The differences that exists is due to decades of cultural molding that has taken place in Pakistan and India. Otherwise, we are all humans and are capable of doing anything...

coz I started watching Indian soaps 6 years ago, when we moved here, coz ATN doesn't show Pakistani shows. before that, we had dish in our home, but we never used to watch it, except "Hum Panch" (that too sometimes only)

Magzines are published on private level. and they will include, anything to attract ppl, If i take a youth mag, i will read about the bands of UK, US and all. and will read reviews of films, which i am might never see!!

its just another way of selling. its human nature to know more. If i start writting a story, and it interests a few ppl, they will come again and read the next part too. and if i put that story on sell, I will earn the money, doesn't matter if the ppl liked the second part of it or not!!!

afew mags which Sana mentioned are weekly, and they come to u, doesn't matter u read them or not!!!! after words those mags are used to pack bartan, if u are moving.

Plus, another thing, all this Indian drama craze started recently, when Pak-Indo dosti ka "drama" start howa tha. they started giving more and more info about India. I don't think India was really interested in the dosti, thats why they didn't publish info about Pakistan!!!

First of all, let me say a few things. All the points I made in my past replies were not only for Ekta shows. But for every Indian soap. They all are same and inspired by Ekta jee!!! yes when Ekta's shows became popular some other producers copied her like Kumkum , YMLH, Bhabhi etc but NOT ALL Producers.Many shows start of good, but then slowly they all turn into "policy making agencies" and all those 1 dozen marriages and remarriages. I started watching Yeh meri Life hai, thinking it's a different show, after some time it was same old thing. Kareena Kareena was different and Jab Love Hua is defiantly good. But if u see the majority of the soaps, they ALL are same, with similar storylines Here again u r talking abt SOME serials .

I have heard that paki movies r being copied by INDIAN movies. if ur serials have such a DIFFERENT stories so why paki film Producers dont use that stories why they copied Indian films .

And a point was made that, we, as in Pakistanis, should have no right in pointing fingers on Indian Shows!!! Read my topic carefully. I have said "U have no right to point a finger on INDIANS and INDIAN Actors acting ability."

Do you know the definition of drama that which is purely for entertainment and there is some touch of imagination in it and u can see American serials like Passions and many more which r just for entertainment and i think serial producers dont make documenteries. I never watched a Paki serial so cant comment on that

I can only say that as a viewer of those, we have every right to talk about them, and criticize them also!!! I have NEVER said that u have no right to criticize Indian shows But INDIANS No Way!!!!! U dont have ANY right to say this abt INDIANS.Doesn't matter if I am Pakistani, Indian or Bangladeshi!!!

As for Indian artist's talent, I strongly believe that Pakistani artists are better…………. Way better!!!! And I m saying Indian Actors r Far Better Than Pakistani Actors.Rajeev and Amna and all others were not called coz Pakistan has a lack of talent. They were called coz of their fan following this proves Indian Actors and Dramas r so popular in Pakistan and thats the topicfrom both sides of the border, and of course for money making thing. The production team will be getting money from both Pakistan and IndiaWhy from India? that serial has not telecast in India yet.I dont think so there is ARY tv in India What more do they need??? ARY Digital, says that they are an "international channel" so that's why they keep calling artists from India.

Aparna di, I don't know what drama you watched and in what year, but dramas on PTV have always been classic.thats why paki people watch Indian Dramas And now it is getting bigger and more advanced.

If you have time, visit www.muziq.net or www.pakistanvision.com and watch the dramas there. From Unkahi to Barsoon baad, all are great dramas. Regional shows might be low budgeted and strictly for ppl of that region, but dramas which are made on national level have always been great. You seriously need to see some dramas.

If India is not showing Pakistani dramas, then it's not Pakistan's headache!!! Seriously!!! There are enough viewers of those Dramas all around the world.Oh really I know so many Pakistani people here in Canada but nobody watch a single Pakistani serial and some of them dont even know Pakistani actors' name so where they got worldwide viewers. So if India isn't showing them, so its ok!!! Pakistani mags carry reviews of English series too, it's a whole package, ppl interested read what they want to read.

When I went to India in 1990, I saw PTV in the home we stayed their. And they were great fans of it, they were glued to the TV at 8:00pm to watch "guest house" (A Pakistani Drama)that television era was totally different frm todays.In 1993 suddenely there was change in television industry when ZEE came.We have lots of Channels & programms who have time to Watch Paki serials

As a neutral viewer, I don't think anything is lacking in Pakistani serials. Wearing same type of sarees with different color is NOT glamour!!!

In this whole debate, I don't understand one thing, why are ppl taking and making wrong meaning of comments posted by the Pakistani members.Because u r making wrong comments. u r pointing Indians and their culture.this debate is abt dramas not abt indians and their culture or value. U guys have startrd all this not us.

I think you all should see what is written on here, instead of assuming things.

One more thing I think God has made Pakistani actors and serial makers PERFECT.They dont do anything wrong.and Indian actors and serial makers r full of lack of talent. u guys r trying to prove that Right!!!

This is the worst statement I have read in this whole debate. I thought we were debating and not attacking. I don't think there is anything left to say now because your words have really hurt me, I don't know about others.

I have read similar debates in PSF (which is a part of IF) where Indian soaps and movies are criticized and some harsh statements against India which have gone without any warning. I personally have took that as a debate and never bothered about it until now.

With statements like this I don't think I am very comfortable in debating on this topic any more.

Now that's a sweeping statement. I strongly believe that some of you haven't even watched a single good Indian serial and know about great actors like Shefali Shah, Harsh Chayya, Rohini Hattangidi, Lalita Choudhary and the likes mentioned by Buffie earlier. Some of these Indian TV stars have gone even upto the International levels.

Yes!! That's what I meant too. Rajeev and Amna are used because of their popularity value. Isn't that the subject of this debate? They rake in more money for Pakistani producers so they are used.

Woah...cool down people! This is not about Indo/Pak actors lacking talent - both have enough talent.

Going back to the topic at hand, I have a question:

Which particular Indian serials are popular in Pakistan? Are they predominantly Ekta Kapoor serials?

Because if this is the case, it may just mean that people from both sides of the border enjoy watching Kekta's over-the-top and senseless dramas.

IMHO, it is human nature to get attracted to weird/scandalous things which involve your favourite stars ... I personally feel that is one of the main reasons people watch Kekta's dramas over other more logical serials like Astitva, etc. Plus there is a weird addiction factor which is undefined by most K-serial watchers.

If Pakistan starts making such Kdramas (assuming there aren't any already), its probable that people in India will start to watch, going by the current TRPs in favour of KSBKBT.

Plus, if the story about the Bans on Indian serials is true, that could be another reason why they are popular - sampling the sweetness of the forbidden fruit.

These are just my theories. Now I dont know if I'm making sense anymore. 😕
