Teen years are so rough. Long ago if you were duffer in studies, you were the one who felt ashamed. But now trend is different, if you are not socially aceptable, people make fun of you. You are the out cast.
Look Bubble gum, focus on your studies...that's if it's your passion. If you are only using books to escape from all the other people..it can turn into an ugly thing.
You have to have a balance in life. You should study for a secure future, but also participate in sports or extra curricular activites.. Join Tenis or dance class where you will make new friends. Join high school news paper team or year book editing team. You need to stimulate both sides of your brain. In future you will have to go out in work environment and work with all sorts of people. This is the age when you learn how to mingle.
People can be rough especially in your age...if someone makes fun of you..just avoid them. You don't have to entertain their thoughts, nor you have to feel sad about yourself. If someone talks bad about you, they are only harming themselves. You don't need to carry their burden.
When I was your age, I used to worry all the time and gave importance to usless opinions of others. Then my older sister told me a story. One time a sadu(sage) was sitting with his students. All of a sudden this angry guy comes in and starts to yell at the sadu. He screams angrily and calls him names. "you are a fake. you don't know anything. why do you preach when you yourself don't anything." The Sadhu doesn't utter a word. He lets that man ventilate his feelings. When the man doesn't see any reaction from sadhu, he leaves. Sadhu's students were amazed and asked ," why didn't you say anything to him? Why didn't you defend yourself?" Sadhu goes ," Why would I let his thoughts and beliefs distrub me?" If he is happy saying the things he wants to, then let him be happy. Why should I carry his stones of burden on my shoulders?" He has a lot of anger and he is stuck with these stones forever. If I had said somehing to him that means I accept his stones of burden."
