There are times in your life when you want to say so much but you can't. Specially if it is to a particular person, it may get more difficult. Reason? You don't want to hurt them, You can't afford to offend them 😆 , it might strain other relationships, you are scared it might embarrass you 😆, you know they don't understand anyway so no point expressing, you want to avoid a scene, you don't want to stretch it or something else whose consequences you fear or want to avoid.

What do you do? Either you suppress the thoughts/feelings/emotions or hide them.

While too much suppression leads to mental health problems and frustration, expressing it all out may lead to more enemies or a strained environment or awkwardness or whatever else.

Depending on your environment, your attitude and a lot of other things combined determines how much you are at liberty to express yourself.

As much as it is always good to express, you can't. So how much and what do you suppress and hide? What compels you to stop from saying out what you want to?

My problem is, I express too much and don't suppress enough. I easily let people of my displeasure and sometimes I can be too blunt which borders on plain mean...Every year I make a resolution to suppress my thoughts to myself but I just can't.

Suppression can lead to an emotional burden that can be unhealthy. I personally believe in expression. Things don't always work out, but you spare yourself the torment of buts and ifs.

I hate when people use useless expressions like, '''''Needless to say.'''...Needless to say? Then don't say it. 'Well, it goes without saying.' ...Then shut up.

some people suffer from a diarrhoea of expression and there is a NEED for them to express every f#@%ing thought that comes to their mind . FB is a good example 😆

@bold: A pet peeve 😆

FB is so full of BS and loser talk. I hate it when people talk in crypts and act mysterious. They are bursting to say but want you to beg them to tell you. Attention seekers 😡 I just don't ask "what next?" deliberately. 😛 😆 I end up upsetting many that way. No suppression there.😆

I wish I could be even half as expressive and extrovert in the real world as I am in the online one. Pretending yourself to be what you are not can be a real pain in the a$$. Maybe someday...

If one thinks that they are suppressing their emotions, maybe they just have too much to express. They need to work on the management of their emotions.
