@Shagnika- I agree with you. By promoting Daya as a behemoth of power, FW added fuel to the fire of people's stereotypical thinking that only huge men make good cops. As a result, Aditya sir was elbowed back. It is only his sheer talent and unmatched panache that has not rendered him into oblivion.

No, IF ranks are not considered. AS's rank had earlier risen above all else in CID.

i blame all to characterisation.even dinesh sir is getting nil importance due to his character in cid,especially after fw started making cid taking target audience as kids.
dinesh sir is soo much sidelined that even we dont discuss abt him a alot

Yes he is...for me he's the best actor I have seen on TV.

I would not say that Aditya sir is sidelined in CID. His is the only character based on which a 10-episode long series was made. He did get his share of importance and despite its flaws, the series gave us many commendable scenes performed by Abhijeet. Who can forget that exemplary drunkard act? Not I. 😳..In fact, I felt that he surpassed even bollywood stalwart Amitabh Bachhan in doing that scene.

If Adi sir had done that, he would have done much better than Manoj Bajpai...but he didn't...he had his CID...regular work, peace of mind...no big struggle to find work. But he wanted to keep his preference for films intact...so he didn't create an identity for himself as a TV actor...Ronit Roy did that...he has clearly established himself on TV, but for Adi sir...it was like sailing on two boats. Hence the problem.

It is sudden that Manoj Bajpai has been in the limelight for the past fortnight because of Gangs of... and the Cannes affair, where actors like Manoj and Nawazuddin were vocal about non-mainstream cinema. What I didn't understand was, that had they been successful even as supporting actors they wouldn't have even done films like GOW and now they are criticising mainstream cinema?
