Hmmm...let's face it...that role in Adalat required someone of Adi sir's calibre...only he can match up to Ronit. 😛 The channel was forced to accept this.

Now there's someone like Majoj Bajpai...who is his contemporary...both started out at the same time...Manoj has recently had a big movie to his credit...because he didn't spend too much time on TV. He chose to stay in films..
If Adi sir had done that, he would have done much better than Manoj Bajpai...but he didn't...he had his CID...regular work, peace of mind...no big struggle to find work. But he wanted to keep his preference for films intact...so he didn't create an identity for himself as a TV actor...Ronit Roy did that...he has clearly established himself on TV, but for Adi sir...it was like sailing on two boats. Hence the problem.
It is sudden that Manoj Bajpai has been in the limelight for the past fortnight because of Gangs of... and the Cannes affair, where actors like Manoj and Nawazuddin were vocal about non-mainstream cinema. What I didn't understand was, that had they been successful even as supporting actors they wouldn't have even done films like GOW and now they are criticising mainstream cinema?
