Well, I was too small, but I remember watching Woh, X Zone and these other horror shows. They were real scary, not like this crappy Aahat that they show nowadays. I was fortunate enough to watch the repeat telecast of the Aahat episode of Aditya Srivastava in Aahat when I was bigger. I have watched a lot of re-runs of DD shows like Bymokesh Bakshi, Flop Show and Karamchand and loved every one of them. Verything was so simple and to the point. Unfotunately, in today's times it's not the case. I also remember watching Just Mohabbat and Movers and Shakers, they weren't the typical talk shows or soaps you'd see nowadays. Indian TV, unfortunately, has becoma a lucrative business, and taken a turn for the worse.

The very first season of aahat was really scary. I remember how much I used to get scared. I used to like z horror show too. But the way they make horror shows nowadays makes me wonder whether I should laugh or cry.

Yes me too. I feel blessed to have been part of the Golden Era. Its sad that today's kid will never know what it was all about. Those days of Ramayan and Mahabharat on Sundays when not a single person could be seen on the streets. Only one movie used to be telecast one Sunday evenings and we would wait for Sundays. Chitrahaar on Wednesdays. Chitrageet when film songs of various languages were shown on Fridays. Series like Udaan, Fauji, Circus, Mr Yogi, Paying Guest, Wagle Ki Duniya, Bharat Ek Khoj, Vikram Aur Betal, Dada Dadi Ki Kahaniyan, Katha Sagar, Mashaal, Gul Gulshan Gulfam, Farman, Chunauti, Dekh Bhai Dekh, Zabaan Sambhal Ke, Karamchand, Doosra Kewal, Life Line, Dil Dariya, Byomkesh Bakshi, Yeh Jo Hai Zindagi, Malgudi Days, Flop Show, Hum Log, Tamas, Indradhanush, Reporter, ...........I could go on and on. Wah yaar kya zamaana tha.

I think the decline started since Shanti, ever since the concept of daily soaps started, the quality started to fall. Earlier producers had to finish their stories in 13 episodes max and only if they gave valid reasons they could get an extension. So the story from start to finish had to be ready not like now where there is no story to start with.

I didn't like Zee Horror Show. I watched a few episode of it on Youtube and noticed that it took too much time setting up the plot. But the Archana Puran Singh episode was good. Have seen Circus? I loved it. There was SRK and then there was Ashurosh Gowarikar. They should put Circus on Rajshri too.

I wasn't even born when Circus was originally aired. 😆 However, I remember, in 2004 or 2005, in the morning slots, Sony used to show these old gems.

You will be shocked to know that its been created by the makers of the original video. They had a tie-up with Zoom to air it and its making.

No, DVD of Fauji is available, I have it, but Circus is not out yet. There is so much demand for these old DD Soaps why don't these producers release them on DVDs.

Do you know which was SRK's first TV appearance?
