SRK's first TV appearance was on Fauji, followed by Circus one year later.

😊 Actually I have heard that his first appearance was in a series called "WAGLE KI DUNIYA" where he participated in one of the episodes even before Fauji. He played this young brat who accidentally runs into Mr. Wagle and both of them spend a harrowing two days waiting to lodge a complaint at the cops. I have seen a small clip from that episode.

Apart from this he acted in two episodes of a series called Umeed. His full-length serials are - Fauji, Dil Dariya, Doosra Kewal and Circus.

WOW Awesome yaar. I have met him once and it still feels like a dream.

There is channel called DD BHARTI, some time back Circus and Dil Dariya were aired on it. But you should really see - Doosra Kewal. Just 13 episodes, awesome series but I don't know how much today's kids will be able to appreciate it.

Oh yeah, his wife's brother lives in New Alipore, right 2 blocks away from my grandparent's house. I have seen them, and I have even met Gauri Khan, but never seen SRK except in movies.😭 My 5th grade class teacher had SRK as her student. She said that he was a very silent and dedicated boy at one instant, sly and devilish the next. He loved playing pranks on his teachers and friends, but used to score really high marks in his class. He had topped the 12th exam for our school, and was the captain of the hockey and cricket team of our school, in short, an all-rounder. He was awarded the Sword Of Honor, the most prestigious award in our school, but the brothers later got annoyed with him because he persued the line of entertainment. There was an argument between him and the brother on this, but eventually it was resolved.

Yes me too. I feel blessed to have been part of the Golden Era. Its sad that today's kid will never know what it was all about. Those days of Ramayan and Mahabharat on Sundays when not a single person could be seen on the streets. Only one movie used to be telecast one Sunday evenings and we would wait for Sundays. Chitrahaar on Wednesdays. Chitrageet when film songs of various languages were shown on Fridays. Series like Udaan, Fauji, Circus, Mr Yogi, Paying Guest, Wagle Ki Duniya, Bharat Ek Khoj, Vikram Aur Betal, Dada Dadi Ki Kahaniyan, Katha Sagar, Mashaal, Gul Gulshan Gulfam, Farman, Chunauti, Dekh Bhai Dekh, Zabaan Sambhal Ke, Karamchand, Doosra Kewal, Life Line, Dil Dariya, Byomkesh Bakshi, Yeh Jo Hai Zindagi, Malgudi Days, Flop Show, Hum Log, Tamas, Indradhanush, Reporter, ...........I could go on and on. Wah yaar kya zamaana tha.

I think the decline started since Shanti, ever since the concept of daily soaps started, the quality started to fall. Earlier producers had to finish their stories in 13 episodes max and only if they gave valid reasons they could get an extension. So the story from start to finish had to be ready not like now where there is no story to start with.

Well I totally agree with you Prabha. These shows catered to his history, mythology, children shows, detective series and many more. They had wide range of option and yet the content was rich. The comedy than was also unique not like the baseless comedy we see now. Somehow I felt we grew up with all these shows and they played a very important role in our socialization process. I remember watching The Great Maratha and compare it with my history text book, also remember watching Jhasi ki Rani. Jhasi ki Rani shown today totally twist and turned the story to fit into the daily soaps, Primarily I never knew Gangadhar Roa married to Laxmi bai in her childhood 😲 Nyways those of who had really seen this are really lucky and am thankful I have been from this era. Thanx Visrom for creating this post and cherishing our old memories. 😃
