Somehow I felt we grew up with all these shows and they played a very important role in our socialization process. ............ Nyways those of who had really seen this are really lucky and am thankful I have been from this era.
I agree these shows have played a huge role during our childhood, have a hand in what we are today a human beings. We learnt so much from them. We did not have a TV set till late 1988-89. All the kids from the colony would gather and see TV at our neighbor's house. I still remember seeing Vikram Vetal with other kids and the discussion we had about each story. How crazy we were about Arun Govil who played Vikram, we would enact the part where he would get Vetal from the tree and put him on his back. I used to play Vikram and my younger brother would be Vetal. So as soon as I got to know its out in the Market, I got a copy immediately.
Kya time tha yaar, we weren't as advanced in technology, I wish I had capture it all for current times. I too am thankful to have born in those times.
Its amazing how during those days there used to be one TV in a colony with one channel, now we have two TVs in one house with 100 channels and nothing to watch. Most of the times we are just busy changing channels. DD just never tried to be in race, else it had so much but they are so lazy they just gave it up. Today DD is a joke, its sad.
IF you get a chance to see, check out
Jhansi Ki Rani starring
Varsha Usgaonkar. It was awesome, this current one is a shame. I wonder where are all the historians now who had issues with Jodha Akbar.
Does anyone remember the serial - INDRADHANUSH, starring Vikram Gokhale, Akshay Anand and guess who Karan Johar? Also STONE BOY?
