I love to write about Chhoti Bahu as if I am going through some literature.....whatsoever I like this soap and ,surprisingly not getting bored first time.....may be because it is not saas bahu saga...why this soap...I ask myself as I can not stand any other Hindi soaps as they all start looking same after sometime….I used to feel this story belonged 60 or 70,s era...Such a lovely, poignant, simple love story with lots of sadness .tears, lyrics with melodious music....In between here and there some moments of happiness with presence of Lord Krishna sometimes... it was really nice and was refreshing , unique , different from others..... Choice of songs and even background score was really good.....I used to feel It was like Cinderella story with wicked grandmother.....prince charming waiting.....DJ Creatives has made good soaps at least starting with good storyline , something different, not aping rat RACE…..C B bring back the glimpses of past B&W movies, even Dev …..So calm and peaceful..... Accepted this was work of fiction, not possible in today's time….. now the girls from the small town are more clever than the big cities.....innocence is gone…… Dev Radhika reminds you B&W time of actors.....when there was innocence, simplicity....you could feel their joy or pain as if they were someone of your own....same goes with Radhika Dev ,s magical chemistry....both of them have strong characters...bad people were always there even in mythology, without them we can not value the worth of goodness...want to congratulate the creative team for good music, old time charm and good story.... . If there love was to be like RADHA KRISHNA, they have done full justice to that role…....many soaps from the different channels even Zee itself hijacked tracks from here and there from C B,s concept.....but none could do the justice.....every actor has done good job with their characters as they all were seasoned actors.....chemistry between Dev and Dadi was great.....stars of your show were Avinash and Rubina......Rubina as radhika did the fantastic job.....her innocence, simplicity, family values, her love for the Kanha .....never appeared as if she is acting...she just looked the part....never lost her cool whatever was the situation....she looked calm, serene and at peace with herself...specially she looked ethereal whenever she was in bridal attire....same goes with Avinash ...he did justice to both the characters as dev ,having child like innocence but head strong , and as Abhay mature. Cool .and somewhat emotionally controlled ….best good looking couple from the current lot of actors in TV soaps.....with all the family dramas, social issues( that disappeared in the half way) this was the best (love story)... . They both look convincing as if the role has been written for them .......Never went overboard.....It was pleasure to view when they both were in the same frame..specially in emotional scenes....she is excellent in acting as well as in looks......same goes with Avinash.....you just relate to them as radhika or dev or Abhay.... .They just took the viewers into the B&W era of movies........many times radhika reminds you of Meena kumarai in her emotional scenes ……Radhika dev. kind of people are rare species in today's world....sacrifice, innocence, simplicity. Purity every thing was there in their love.......They both had inner strength, which helped them to sail through any storm….. you can feel the tranquility, peace in Radhika Dev personality….even I liked Vishakha,s character....she was selfish but stupid with one track mind....easily can be manipulated.....basically was not bad, yes childish and sometimes funny.....in the last few episodes turned her uglier…sometimes even I don't find Mrinalini character vicious….. she is justified for her behavior.....sometimes you get fed up with all time comparisons...no two persons can be alike.... Purohits are shown cultured, dignified, subtle, with good dressing sense........Purohits life style really reflects some old time respectable Delhi family.....nothing flashy, with old time values..... later on reasons unknown creatives ruined a good story…..you feel some thing is missing because of abrupt ending…..however with so many illogical twist turns I stiill find Chhoti Bahu special……

Thank you for sharing your thoughts.You have so well articulated what we all felt--

CB is special and always will be ---not only that the story started of being different, but it was Avinash and Rubina who made the portrayal of Dev and Radhika so real, that we all fell in love with them and in turn loved the serial.

And that's why its abrupt ending was so painful---
Let's hope the news of Avinash and Rubina's return in "CB2" is real and that the PH and Zee is not playing games with the viewers...

Hope to hear the official announcement from Zee re. Avinash and Rubina in CB2
In addition, I hope that the PH and Zee have learnt a hard lesson, in not messing with a good story line.
I hope they have a good creative team whose focus is CB. I hope they have decent screenplay writers and good dialogue writers. I hope they have decent sets ( and not just recycled from other shows) and costumes for the lead actors. Most importantly, they keep the focus on Dev and Radhika and do not waiver from the main theme of the story.

We all are anxiously waiting to hear the "news" from official channels

Thanks Neerja...........Very apt description of CB
CB was brought to life by its unique and simple story........by its characters who somehow made us interested in their stories and in their feelings. CB was also about two pairs of eyes and the emotions in those eyes..........the eyes belonging to Avinash and Rubina.
CB was like a fairy tale with all the ingredients in it. It had a prince and a princess, there were good people supporting them and evil opposing them. Unfortunately in fairytales the evil does get punished, evil does face retribution which did not happen here.CB was a fairy tale until vaarmala in November last year when Dev and Radhika exchanged garlands in the second wedding, but after that it became a nightmare. There were patches of good in this nightmare but those patches did not last for long. So all was left for me were the two pairs of eyes of the leads.
Hopefully if CB2 comes back, it comes back with a strong story, good characterisation and a sense of need from the makers to not play with the screenplay.

You are so right---it was the POWER OF EYES that spoke so much without actually saying a word; the incredible talented Avinash and Rubina who expressed such multitude of emotions;
when I look back to all the captured images and the beautiful moments of CB--most of them were the ones where there were few dialogues and the camera focused on the expressions of these two young talents---we could read the feelings, we could hear the unsaid words and we got totally immersed in their magical world-------------------

I totally agree with you Misti ....thanks for reminding me .....when i was writing the post i knew something was missing........it was about their eyes.....their eyes spoke volums , they did not need words to describe their emotions , it was all there in their eyes.......there were so many small things which made Chhoti Bahu special......how come Ammaji was not punished.....just in a hurry to end the soap they forget the loose threads.....there are so many illogical tracks but i just want remember the good things about this soap....

Beautifully expressed the reasons why we were so attracted to Choti Bahu. It really was a combination of the magical talent of Radhika and Dev as well as the values, simplicity and innocence portrayed by these two that made us feel a part of the show. It was so real. There is no other show to compare with Choti Bahu. The standard was high. It was a classy show with beautiful, talented, intelligent actors.We miss CB very much.

Thank for this post:
Not only their eyes that spoke volumes, but also the way enacted their emotions. Just by looking at them one can sense what they are feeling. With their portrayal of their characters.....they have made us cry, laugh, sense their pain, their guilt and no one has thus far done that. They have not been winning awards but they're most deserving than their peers. CB had best directors, cinematographers, soundtrack, unique storyline, but when these same individuals did not have great script to work with their artistry started to dwindle. Just my opinion....so call creators in the last few months of CB.....started using Jugaad techniques ( quick fix ) which lead to their destruction. When one does last minute scripting, using cheap resourses of course their product will fail. I hope if they do bring CB2........they get better creative team and learn from their previous mistakes. I want to see that uniqueness so that Avina can reach the stars....
