For now, I have to go and write about my performance evaluation at work (that is what I did the whole year etc. - too bad can't write about the time spent on forum).

Angie I am so happy that I do not have to write my performance evaluation in my job.😃

DEVIKA8.....Radhika also had life in her but that got covered by responsibilitis and her sense of gratitude towards tha Shastris. Radhika was like a lamp that itself gets destroyed but provides a soft light to others. .....and she always had my attention, even more than Dev. 😉😃

Thanx Misti for interview. Just a thought, serials are sometimes made into a movie eg sex & the city, friends. Why not Bollywood make a movie of Choti Bahu. There are lots of fans worldwide. We just saw the ZeeNite
mauritius in SA last night. The number of cbian fans was overwhelming.
Why can't this message be conveyed by fans to Creatives?

Ameetasingh ... will definitely second you on that ... i have always thought it would be a great idea to make a movie of choti bahu ... but make the second wedding the end of the movie ... avoid the fire track, etc ..

Radev24, Imarti giving it back for Radhika to all the people who have used her would have been good but sadly that was not to be. If they had shown that then hte show would have become very interesting and also would have been fun and enjoyable. Rubina was doing a very good job as Imarti and she showed that she has a good comic timing. Also she was juggling the switch between Radhika and Imarti quite well. Radhika also could tease Dev but her resonsibilities made her subdue her humour whereas Imarti did not have to do that....I guess it will be more fun for Rubina to be more like Imarti than Radhika...Thanks for telling me that I did guess correctly.

Yep, in spite of my "premature premonition", I kept hoping that Imarti character was created just for that purpose in mind. And she even sunaofied Amma at PB in her 2nd or 3rd appearance, but CVs or whoever decided not to prolong it any further. Maybe out of respect for Gopiji, dunno. Or some internal politics, ego clashes .. who knows.
In Houston since it was just the 3 of us at the hotel lobby, I also wanted to comment (since acting critiquing my side hobby growing up) on how vastly oppositing characters the 2 were and how Ruby (being a new talent really) was able to handle it like a mature pro .. and also about the editing part and the directors having a field day taking advantage of small screen (as opposed to celluloid) and getting away with splicing the shots etc. The very fact that us viewers actually felt that twins were acting (and not showing the back of a dup actor, which they did do though), was a reflection IMO of how well cvs heads were working, just coz they knew the show was ending ?
But could not say all that as the two organizers showed up and we all had to disperse for the next agenda ...
Yes your guess was right on !

Actually, Amma's character in the beginning was realistic. There are many old women like her who are prejudiced because this is what they were taught. If the prejudice is combined with malice as was in the case of Amma, it can be very damaging. So, I could understand Amma's character in the beginning. They showed her as having no problem with Radhika doing all the work including cooking the meals. But, she didn't want Radhika to serve her the food. Similarly, she acted as all religious, but had no problem sending Vishaka - an unmarried girl with a married guy. Her brainwashing Vaishali was also ok. It was the burning track where she became this intensely evil woman and chunnu munnu never punished her for that. Last year, viewers were waiting for the track where Amma would be exposed and disowned by her son. But, then the burning track was unbearable and we all just wanted her character to be punished and be away from the serial. That's why Radhika and PF not mourning Shantanu's death was so unrealistic. In what way what his crime worse than Amma's?

Now, Vishaka was never shown to be very intelligent and could brainwashed easily. But, it never made sense for her to be brainwashed against Radhika after the burning track. Afterall, Radhika didn't have to save her and definitely didn't need to get burnt. So, Vishaka after that incident could never think that Radhika was selfish. It just became illogical after that incident.

Amma would have been a realistic character if they had removed the burning incident and had toned down her evilness. People like amma exist in life. It does not matter whether they live in cities or villages, if thats what they believe in then they will follow it. Even now it is present. It is wrong but these things take time to change. One of my cousins has married into a very conservative Bihari family and her in laws are like that. So that is one of the harsh realities of life but this burning a girl and then going scot free is something that should not be shown, specially in a country where bride burning is rampant and happens frequently (Iam keeping Kanha aside here). That is what irritates me regarding the cvs making hindi shows.....they will show the ills of the society but will hardly show the means to cure the ills, or to put a stop to the ills.

As for Vishaka, I found it very strange that one week she thanks Radhika in the hospital that she will never foget what Radhika has done to save her from getting burned and if Radhika wants she is ready to give her life for Radhika.......and then after two weeks she is nodding at amma. On top of that she knows very well that amma is after Radhika and wants to ruin her life. Guess the channel and PH changed their plan again.

I guess the intent was to show Vishaka as a changed person. But, she was shown to be involved with this shady guy Vikram who was an enemy of Dev. So, probably the initial plan was that Vishaka maybe would have helped Dev and Radhika in the end in exposing Vikram. But, the PH and channel decided that Dev and Radhika with Vishaka in the middle is the main theme and should stay that way. Maybe, they were influenced by Uttaran where Tapasya was always in the middle and thought this would keep their ratings high.
