Thank you.😉

i have mixed feelings abt what they are showing ... i am possibly a little one track minded and focus only on rads or dev/abhay's characters and am less inclined to be worried if they ping pong other characters. I really loved rads and the way she dealt with abhay today ... rads usually gets her way by being soft and sweet, not by nagging him which they showed her doing a few times and i did not like it bcos that is not how she is with dev. However as far as Abhay is concerned, they have not shown him becoming any smarter

Oh I liked Pataka today, back to her sweet talk.....if she uses her brains she is very formidable opponent.😉.......but yu know me...I look for all the charatcers and I like this Rajjan chap.......the actor is very good and should go far in his career. I have given up on Abhay.

We all agree on how much better they could have done with this track 😡... so i wont even go there
- however as they end this track and before he recovers his memory i would like abhay to decide that he does not want to marry kanika, not bcos she ran away ... but bcos he is attracted to rads and that is the only person he has connected with in 5 years and so wants to marry her
- i am appalled at the extent to which they dumbed him down and i really hope they show the reason for that ... or show him being smart and confrontational in how he deals with both klady and amma
- if dev/abhay was acting and actually was wise to klady's ways (which i dont think they will show him being) ... all i would tell the creatives is that it is a very dumb way to tell the story to keep the audience in the dark
- in short, i remember gardes writing abt this but i need emotional closure on this track more so than many other tracks but know i will not get it

I think I am with you.........infact not even expecting emotional closure.......if they give it I will be pleasantly surpised but won't waste my time expecting it.From where did you get amma here? I thought they will be protecting her and for the first time in Indian soaps will show a person who has burned another human being set free to roam about freely. They have been protecting her a for a long time.

This is the first time I watched Uttaran....I mean I visit the forum frequently because have got a friend there.....there are some brilliant satirists in that forum one of whom sometimes pops over here (Arunima). How I wish they had done something like Uttaran during the wedding truth episodes. Infact Uttaran has copied from CB as the concept is the same.......but they have brilliant writers. In CB during the truth episodes amma was given the freedom to rule and shastriji, dadima and Dev were completely dumbed down. If only these three characters were given their dues then CB would have reached a new level. The ONS track was not needed.they could have shown Radhika realising that her silence is killing Dev inside and that would have been the push....ONS removed the soul from CB. We never got any emotional closure from CB and even after burning a human being, most probably amma will be protected by the creatives and the channel and the production house.

I also watched these three episodes only of Uttaran. Today, Beena (mayee) asking for forgiveness and asking Ichha to stay with them and then Jogi Thakur's performance. He is comparing himself to his daughter. He accidently killed a person (and that too it seemed this guy came in front of his car) and he felt extreme remorse and then he has a daughter who planned two murder of two people whom she knew very well and still had no remorse. That was great performance. I was thinking that Shastriji should have been given that type of dialogues where he is feeling extremely guilty about not realizing Amma's evilness and putting a stop to it. Also, him feeling devastated that Devki was an accessory. Instead, his dialogues were that Amma and Devki hid the truth from him. There were no dialogues where he said that Amma and Devki along with Vishaka were the masterminds behind this crime against Radhika. Then, the burning truth never came out. How I wanted it to be Dev to find this, connect that interview of Radhika with police to Amma pouring kerosene on Vishaka. He would have started thinking about it when Radhika disclosed the truth. There was no need to show Radhika taking Kanha's oath (again to increase the melodrama). I would have preferred that Devki was shown to be quiet because she was a weak person. Even if she disclosed the truth, there was no punishment from her. Her dialogues made it seem as if she was against the idea and just couldn't do anything due to her family's prestige. That was nonsense. She also wanted Vishaka to go to this rich family and be a wife to this educated, good looking guy with a title. They never disclosed that Devki went to that havan to break the wedding or asked Radhika to deceive Dev again by making him marry to Vishaka. All those were totally skipped. They also never showed Radhika's remorse or ultimate realization that how wrong she was in the end (not the beginning) to ask Dev to stay with Vishaka or to make him marry Vishaka without his knowledge. That was never even discussed.
In last three episodes of Uttaran, they seemed to tie all the loose ends or at least the important ones. The evil Tapasya was totally rejected by both families and was kicked out. The parents were shown to be totally devastated and aghast at their daughter. Great script and they are going to contiue with it for few more days the whole fallout. Yes, some people were complaining that Tapasya wasn't sent to jail and I agree with that. But, still it was great.
Now, with this show, it seems that we would be lucky if we get proper closure of this track. At this moment, it does not seem so.

Misti - I always love to read your take on each days show and absolutely love it.
Over the last few weeks, since Dev/Abhay has lost his brains, like you, II have started to like Pataka and Chuchunder more and more where they are my favorite characters.
Creatives have killed my vision of Dev by taking out any semblence of intelligence in him. I just do a count down every time Abhay talks as to how many seconds before he spouts the my wife....my son....MR.... dialog.
I have followed the discussion you are all having on this show Uttaran. Now I will have to watch it because of how the closure seems to be handled.
I totally agree with you all that the creative team totally cheated the viewers and wasted the opportunity to give closure to the various incidents that made up the whole story of CB. So many threads left hanging.
Given their talents, Shastriji, Dadi Dev and Radhika would have been outstanding if the revelations had been explored more fully based on true personality of characters as developed in the early days Devki would have been outstanding in her range of constipated expressions.
They did not show anyone's remose after the fake melodramatic disclosure. I think the viewers were cheated and the serial lost some standing with that bad decision.
If it is true that CB is ending, I will always have a feeling that something good did not come up to its potential but loved tor ead all your discussions on it!!!!!!!!!
Thanks!!!

Misti,
I forgot to write one compliment where you linked Vaishali's dialogues to "Sadma" movie. I knew that Sridevi had amnesia in that movie, but I forgot that she had double amnesia where she first forgets her life prior to meeting Kamal Hassan. Then, she gets her memory back, but forgets her time with Kamal Hassan. That was brilliant linking the movie to Vaishali wishing that Dev would get his memory back and also forget CN for good. That was too funny.

Just read somewhere about this show's impending closure and tempted to feel the reactions of those who have become habituated to this show- for all its wonders or faults. This is more out of curiosity over the marketing clout that this kind of 'brand' producers have been able to generate from this form of entertainment -a form which has been taking shape barely since a decade, if we discount previous era's finite no. episode based serials. This quirk visit has naturally drawn me to Misti's article, having read her poem thread occasionally.

The subsequent reply posts here show how your group is going to miss this well put out 'istyle' satire with its extravagant dollops of yellows, along with the 'source'.

But real reason, over all this boring explanation to post a reply here, is an unchecked, childish desire to point out a truly class apart product in this genre to some one as discerning as Why3 when I witness you comparing the merits of other serial 'Utran'- another long drawn out affair with its fair share of humbug storylines even though it may have flashes of brilliance occasionally. No offence please.

'Meri Zaat Zarra a Benishaan'- a recently concluded, 20 episode, Pakistani Serial, has just opened my eyes to how very sharp they can become in all aspects of making a T.V.Drama-Storyline, Castings, Acting, Editing, conception, direction. A true classic, easily available on you tube with name and episode no. Though somewhat poor quality on You tube and yet more satisfying then watching a nicely made Hindi Movie. Checking even one or two episodes should clearly show the superiority of this product. Our 'K serials' or Utrans pales miserably in comparison.

In the end, do excuse me for this unwarranted intrusion. I do mean no offence.

Thanks Anamika good to see after a long time.It is extremely sad that such brilliant cast were not used properly in CB....most of them were wasted when their talents could have been utilised. All the open threads and the lack of any emotional closure have left the viewers with an empty feeling....atleast it is true for me as a viewer. I have been wondering that how on earth are they going t bring back Dev.......I mean the original one, because to me even if the memory comes back he will have some of this five years of lifes experience in him.......he should have some part of Abhay in him........but today one f Vaishalis dialgues gave me the hint of a possibilty. It might not amount to anything but the option is there now for Dev to come back......but will the audience accept him after all this he has done with Radika?

Actually Angie I mentioned Sadma in one of the threads when the track had just started..........I think the question was that how will Dev deal with all this when he gets his memory back and I had mentioned Sadma, that like Sridevi he might forget the years of amnesia..........and I found it funny that Vaishali is saying something similar.

I succumbed to watching today's episode after not watching the show for more than a month. I am not sure to feel relieved or hit myself on the head for succumbing to temptation. :)

Please bear with me but why is it that Abhay feels its okay to marry Kanika when he has slept with Radhika. Isn't that deceiving Kanika? If he is this obligated to the scary lady in black shouldn't he feel guilty for sleeping with a woman who in his mind is not his wife and in the process he is being unfair to the scary lady's daughter not to mention Radhika? Or has it all been explained in the show?

Misti, loved your humorous take as usual.

Rajsri, my friend, so wonderful to see you back.

Loved ur funny review misti di... thanks! Misti di,the film sadma in hindi,i saw in my language named "Moondram pirai" acted by kamal Haasan&sridevi. What if dev forgets his past 5yrs after he regained his memory&say bye-bye to CN,then......will klady try to remember dev about his past 5yrs by keeping utensil on her head&dancing like kamal Haasan at the end, whereas dev will throw some coins/food to klady thinking she is mentally retarded like what sridevi did to kamal Haasan in that film!!!
