I absolutely loved the last part ... I was being very petty and hoping that amma would trip and the oil would land on her face and people would realize what she had done ... but this was so much better

It was like a balm to watch Rads give back to Amma ... we all knew Rads had it in her. She needed to be pushed to the extreme ... and she feels like she has lost the Dev that was happy and carefree ... so this has awakened the tigress in her and she is ready to fight

Btw ... what is Mrin doing perpetually positioned outside Radev's room?

rajsri : I really wished that Vish knew that Amma was trying to pour hot oil on her. She would have sent Amma back home.

Thanks, Radev. It was excellent. It seemed long overdue on one hand but yet it was a perfect moment! What a gal!

Well lets hope the creatives don't ruin Rads by making her go back to her old ways if and when Dev snaps out of his obessesive guilt. These creatives just don't understand that they don't have to show Rads strong and intelligent at the expense of Dev or vice versa. I absolutely hate the inconsistencies in characterization of these two and I hate the fact that the creatives don't show them as a strong, united front!

The best thing about the episode was indeed Rads standing up to Amma but at the same time maintaining her dignity and good-upbringing. I hope she puts Vishaka in her place next!

Sandeepa, totally agree with you! She is now the REAL CB, basking in the love, nurturing and laad-pyaar of a mother and a grandmother at PB, away from the wicked witch of Vrindavan, finally.
Creatives, please continue to make her strong to admit to Dev all the untruths of her life and make them a great couple!
The show has finally regained, at least for now, the raison d'etre why I was first attracted to it!

I also liked the part where Rads tells Amma that she has done something like this before but today she will not let her succeed today!
That was necessary for Rads to let Amma know that she is aware of her setting Rads on fire, but now enough is enough and she will speak up!👏
I hope they keep showing positive changes in Rads and not go backwards!

Gardes, in my humble opinion the reason that Amma did not have a rebuttal is very simple. Today when Radhika held Amma's hand and stopped Amma from hurting Vishaka not only did she break the cycle of violence but also broke the power Amma had over her.

In real life such a feat is very difficult to achieve for a survivor! How was Radhika able to do this?

Amma has controlled Radhika in various ways. She has always treated Radhika like a servant, degraded her life, made decisions for Radhika and consequently made her feel that her emotions and her needs are insignificant. Amma robbed her of her identity as a woman worthy of love and tried to erase her existence by attempting to murder her.

After Rads became Dev's wife, people who meant a lot to her (Dev, Dadi, Vaishalai, Vivek, Birju and the staff) treats her like she is a queen. They want her opinions and bide by her decisions. Dev gave her, her life back and nullified Amma's act. The PF has given her back her identity as a woman to be loved and cherished.

The strength that Amma saw in Radhika today rendered her speechless. But she has a perpetrator mentality through and through. She will be re-energized in thinking she can bring Radhika's downfall by continuing to wield her power and control over Radhika. It will be interesting to see how Radhika will continue to fight back.

Loved today's episode. It was very therapeutic!!!

Angake, thanks. I was hoping you would post your take and you are right. This was Radhika untying the shackles of her past! It was very symbolic when Radhika held on to Amma's arm and prevented her from hurting "mor poti". Goes to show Amma's short-sightedness even though she is B M Shashtri's mother and widow of one of the learned men of Vrindavan. Does she even really love Vishakha, for the extent to which she chases the Purohit wealth? How abominable! Today Amma was reduced to NOTHING! The last vestiges of her power were gone in a flash!
It did not stop Amma from trying her old modus operandi of verbal abuse, though, as far as she could take it. Eventually Radhika very respectfully gives Amma the one reason that empowers a person on this earth - LOVE, something Amma never learned and knows nothing about! It stunned Amma speechless! It was a divine moment for me.
It is funny that in those 5 mins of Radhika, I felt like a proud Mama! If I were watching at leisure at home, instead of sneaking in at lunch time, I would be crying my eyes out! I plan to do so later in the evening. 😳
Angake, for me the episode was very cathartic!

As Angake has said she broke the cycle of abuse ........it takes lots of guts, will power and self belief to stand up to ones abuser and give that person a piece of your mind. ......She did her duty by touching ammas feet but did not wait for the blessing.......it was really a sublime scene........where were these creatives hiding in the past year and in the beginning of this year.

Mishti, this was what you and I had wanted for so long! Radhika in a very short time being exposed to the right kind of love and the right kind of nuture has blossomed into a strong person and it was such a pleasure to see her stand up tall and face Amma squarely. She went as far as telling her that she is on to Amma and Amma needs to stop here and now. And all this without yelling, screaming, crying, pleading, nothing and with utmost respect!
Radhika has been lovingly accepted by the right people and she in turn is getting the kind of guidance that was owed to her to become strong! She will be a lot of things to Dev in the future as Daadima explained on couple different occasions recently - a wife, a lover and a friend!
I repeat - How divine!

Yes, Gardes,
When I heard that dialogue from Radhika - "It always mine!!" in a invincible manner, I went "Wow"!!! My brained paused for a moment and then I realised, yes, isn't this Radhika that I want, yes exactly, what I want.
The next dialogue was about her strength coming from her husband's love. Me again going "Yes!" in my mind.
Then I went on to watch Radhika touching Amma's feet.
Radhika did no wrong, way to go girl!! Way to go!

Gardes:

I felt amma was suffering from an electric shock when rads spoke to her strongly without fear that she couldnt utter a word. Miss polka dots was left speechless, what a sight.
