Friends, here is my next VM. I am actually in a middle of another VM. But this song was coming to my mind for few days and I ended up making this one. This one was fairly quick to make as I only used very few episodes for this and didn't have to edit that much.

Rajsri/Misti: Hope you like this VM as it shows Dev's raw emotions. I have used couple of parts from the first part of this VM in my other VMs. But here I have used almost entirely the whole scene. There was another scene that I wanted to use. It was after Radhika returns Dev's ring and he is sitting in his room like a statue. It was a 3 minute sequence but I got about 20 seconds of Dev's scenes because each frame had another character. But I wanted to use this scene because Avinash had done a really good job in this scene. Wish they had kept camera on him for a longer time.

This VM is titled "Dev's Grief" and is based on Talat Mahmood's song "Sham-e-gam ki kasam" from the movie "Footpath". "Sham-e-gam" means an evening of grief.

Misti: You chose the perfect song for the first part of Bholu, Phullu and Rohan relationship. Thanks Angie I was skeptical about this song even when I started making it as I wasn't sure that it fit Rohan fully. I had couple of episodes in mind, but once I started editing them, I realized that this was the best song for their situation and suddenly all the other scenes came immediately. Rohan's, Bholu's and Phullu's expressions are priceless. Such a great chemistry between these three characters. So again it was so much fun to make this VM. So thank you for recommending this song.
Truthfully when I first watched this song, I was not thinking of Rohan ...it was Bholu in my mind and I was smiling thinking about his reactions, his glares, his hissy fits and thats when I started thinking that who can be the other person and then I realised that it can be used for Rohan and Bholu...with Phullu thrown in ...Usually I subconsciously interpret songs from Bholu's POV ...the other characters enter the picture later on based on the song and what I think Bholu might e thinking.

This VM is based on the song "Dilbara, Dilbara" from the movie "Dhoom (I)". I have titled it "The Princess and the Lap Dog". This is a spoof on the story "The Princess and the Frog". In the story, princess kisses the frog and he becomes the prince. But, Princess Phullu is not at all interested in either a frog or a lap dog as she already has got her Prince Bholu.

By definition, the lap dog is a small cute dog that can be cuddled in a lap. Now Myra would go for that definition for Rohan. But in human terms, it also means " a person who attaches himself to someone either in admiration or infatuation."

Here Rohan is the lap dog who tries his best to appear cuddly to Princess Phullu. Rohan and cuddly!!!!!!!!! But she considers him a pest and tries to shoo him away. The more she tries to ignore him, the more he comes after her. This infuriates her real Prince Bholu who is getting increasingly irritated with Rohan's shenanigans, but is not doing much at this time except sulking or glaring at Rohan and sometimes at Phullu. 😆Thats classic Bholu...andhe is also stompingPhullu ignores Rohan but as usual is concerned about Bholu's reactions. So towards the end, she takes matter into her hand as usual (to spare Bholu) and tries to deal with Rohan in her own calm, diplomatic way. But does it work????what do you think😆

Myra/Misti, hope you like this interpretation. Angie I loved it and was laughing throughout..I specially loved Bholu's sarcastic remarks and his perfect expressions

Neerja, thanks. Misti did pick a perfect song with great lines that fit Dev. I didn't even remember Dev's expressions until I picked up the episodes. Then it was so hilarious. If this song was longer, I could have used more expressions of Dev and also of Rohan. Yeah, tapori lyrics do fit Rohan and especially the way he was acting during his fake illness days.

Even though Misti picked up the song, it really is for Myra. Ideally I want to make one or two more on Rohan, Dev and Radhika. This song picked up more of innocent Rohan who was happy in his own world. He was acting spoilt and manipulative as that is his second nature. But he wasn't exactly sly and vindictive as he was later on. I want to use those scenes of wedding scene where Rohan and Dev had telepathic conversation. Also I want to use that scene just before the first fight between the two when Rohan was being sarcastic and Dev was acting all righteous in his anger. Then they had those scenes where each was taunting the other just before kidnapping. They were some great episodes. So I hope Misti finds another song for Rohan & Dev with Radhika in the middle. She is brilliant in picking up the right songs for these characters.

Neerja, I hope you did not disturb your family at 1:30 a.m.

The three did have great chemistry. That's why their scenes were most of the time very good. They had a lot of characters related to Dev and Radhika they could have explored, but instead went on to artificial characters instead. After the truth came out about Dev, Rohan should have been part of the story as he lost everything to Dev - Radhika, RP title, property, legitimacy and Dada too in some manner because now Dev was the grandson of Dada in blood sense too. Also he found out that Hari's dream child would have been Dev too because he was Chaya's son. So he lost that dead father whom his mother had idolized. Before his wedding ceremony to Radhika, Padma had told Rohan that his father would have been proud of him. So Padma did think highly of Hari and then it was discovered that Padma was not his choice but he had married her under compulsion. That Hari talked to Dada about Chaya and their unborn child (Dev) rather than Padma and Rohan at his deathbed. On top of that, Dev was the superior one and it was acknowledged universally. So this best friends turned foes/half brother was very interesting.

So yes, CB2 did not need any artificial stories or artificial villains as they had plenty of natural ones. Also actors were very capable of delivering and had great chemistry. Rohan was a negative character, but he was not a repulsive character like Barkha or Madhavi where one just wanted to fast forward the scenes.

But Dada - another interesting character was killed and Rohan was expelled. Others interesting side characters like Virat and Maheswari were made into clowns who were used as props. So CB2 that had easily one year worth of stories at least - Dev/Radhika/Rohan with Virat/Maheswari on the side, Chaya's story with Padma/Rohan on the other side, Savitri's story, RB/Ruby etc. Instead it hobbled to its end using some very artificial characters and artificial stories. No character or actor was properly used in the CB2 in last several months.

Dev and Ruby's chemistry was awesome😉 The song suited the scenes perfectly .I always hoped that Ruby would mockingly show Dev his mistakes towards Radhika and make him repent for it. She was the only character that I wanted to see pin point Dev his mistakes and make him realize what damage he has done by not trusting Radhika .
Thanks for the Vm it was great😊 ..Will come by to see more

Yamuna, thanks. Ruby and Dev's chemistry was indeed great and I used to find Ruby very entertaining. Also Ruby was not a one-dimensional person but had complex personality. She was also not entirely self-centered as she was greatly attached to her father and was protective of him.

I too wanted RB/Ruby track to be Dev's remorse track where he could have seen how Radhika's actions were so opposite to his when she had faced worse with his family. Also I had really liked that confrontation scene where RB had thrown Dev's past behavior with Radhika at his face and let him know that his past behavior was really the main reason because of which RB found him unworthy of Radhika. Unfortunately, the track was cut short soon after.

I wanted to see Ruby becoming protective of Radhika eventually and her having a sort of hate/like relationship with Dev where eventually they would have become buddies. But where she would have given him a hard time regarding his treatment of Radhika.

Thanks for visiting this thread. Do come for other VMs at your convenience.

Thanks, Neerja. I have always loved this song. This movie was very different than other movies as the hero here was very grey (almost negative) who used the character played by Geeta Bali. So this song was towards the climax where he is tempting her to come to him.

CB1 definitely had more of their scenes. Also in the first year and even in the second year, their scenes did not consist of a third person popping in unnaturally or they talking about somebody else. So you could make a VM from just 2-3 episodes. In CB2, it is difficult to find a long scene between the two especially if one wants to use scenes from last months of the show.

This poem was very appropriate for Dev of CB1 because there Radhika had so many shackles and he is the one who helped her break them eventually. So he was the one who finally made her understand that she too has a right to happiness.

Yes, Avinash is very talented and his forte is definitely these emotional scenes where he can use his eyes to express his thoughts. Even when many of his lines used to be quite bad during Barkha track, his expressions conveyed more of his character.

Myra, thanks for liking my VMs.

Myra, thank you for liking the one on Rohan. When it comes to making VM on Rohan, I always think of you. I have always found your threads about Rohan hilarious.

I knew you would be ok with him as a lapdog. As far as Radhika is concerned, he is a mosquito. But he is stubborn where Radhika is concerned. Just doesn't want to give up and keeps on going back to her. In the VM, first he tried to be cute, then started throwing tantrums when she didn't give in and went away in anger. I found his expressions very hilarious in these episodes and so were Radhika and Dev's reactions. Radhika used to be exasperated with him, but Dev was the one who always got irritated.

As far as the title is concerned, I thought Rohan was acting like a lap dog. But I wanted Radhika in it too and so this came to my mind. I actually wanted to put Dev too in the title because even though he is not present in many scenes, his reactions are the ones that make it so hilarious. There was a comedy movie titled "Pati, patni aur voh" (Husband, wife and the mistress). So I thought of calling it "The prince, princess and the lap dog". But then I thought of "The princess and the frog" story and so took out the prince (Bholu) from the title. He is the surprise element of the VM.

Myra, I have always found Hemant Kumar's voice to be one of the most melodious voice. Thanks for liking the poem. I have no talent in writing any poetry but I do love reading poems. This one just suits Dev's feelings (of CB1).
