After two years of a private relationship, Taylor Swift and NFL star Travis Kelce have announced their engagement with a joint Instagram post. The photos featured the couple amidst flowers, with Swift showcasing a diamond ring. Their playful caption read, "Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married." The post showcased Kelce proposing on one knee, the couple in an embrace, and a detailed view of Swift's stunning engagement ring.

Swift's engagement ring features an 8-carat Old Mine Brilliant Cut diamond set on a gold band. This historic cut, popular from the early 18th to late 19th century, is distinguished by its small table, large culet, high crown, and 58 unique facets, making each diamond a singular treasurer.

According to Benjamin Khordipour from Estate Diamond Jewelry, “Taylor Swift was proposed to with a stunning elongated antique cushion-cut diamond that is approximately eight carats, F color, and VS1 clarity. The ring was handcrafted in 18k yellow gold and the center diamond is set with needle point prongs that perfectly match the antique style. Smaller diamonds and hand-engravings adorn the shoulders of her setting."

Designed by Kindred Lubeck of Artifex Fine Jewelry, the custom ring blends historical elegance with modern design. Although the official price hasn't been disclosed, experts estimate its value to be approximately $550,000, or roughly Rs 4.5-4.8 crore.

Their relationship, initially kept private, has evolved into one of the most-watched celebrity romances. Kelce first expressed his interest in Swift on his podcast, "New Heights," in July 2023, mentioning his intention to give her a friendship bracelet with his phone number.

Swift later admitted she was charmed by the gesture. "This all started when Travis very adorably put me on blast on his podcast, which I thought was metal as hell," she told Time. The pair began spending time together privately before their first public appearance.

By September 2023, fans believed they were witnessing their first date at a Chiefs game against the Chicago Bears. However, Swift clarified that they were already a couple. "By the time I went to that first game, we were a couple. We would never be psychotic enough to hard launch a first date," she said.

Earlier this month, Swift announced her 12th studio album on Travis and Jason Kelce’s podcast, jokingly referring to it as the "personal dating app" that sparked their romance, a nod to their public and playful love story.
