It sure takes a lot of guts to come down to a forum where 95% of the people love the show and give an honest analysis whether it appeals to their liking or not and I appreciate you for that.
I agree with your analysis.
The show promised a lot when it started and being a Sanaya Irani fan, I was super excited because she is one of the best on TV today.
so coming from that excitement, the show has been a super let down.
There is no story at all, there is nothing new, these concepts and tracks have been tried and tested so many times already.
what the makers promised to be innovative and what they are delivering doesnt match at all.
Like you said, being a dog trainer by profession or having a family where each one of them has a unique career interest, well thats common in most families today, yet coming from such a family ChhanChhan is made to look submissive and regressive.
A simple example is the fact that the ladies in her Sasural cant eat while thje gents eat and ChhanChhan has no issues with that, I can understand respect traditions but I would never tolerate someone undermining my own self respect in the name of traditions and cultures.
as of now, the story is very much predictable, and I watch it just so that I can see Sanaya, thats all that holds me to the show, remaining elements and storylines, its something thats easily predictable.
as for the chemistry between the leads, Sanaya is supremely talented, I havent seen Anuj in his previous shows but seeing him here, he is doing what is required of Manav, and as of now Manav doesnt have nothing much to do other than being a standby husband who despite being educated like ChhanChhan is unbelievably oblivious to his mother's nature and actions.
Manav is right now a Mama's boy who loves his wife dearly. I undersyand the need to show romance between newly weds but along with romance which is part and parcel of all Indian shows, the CVs need to being in a solid track, situations like HM being planned, then getting cancelled and then Umaben upto her evil schemes, these are not what you call tracks, its just situations that lead to nowhere.
Make an impact, give out a strong message, this is what the makers had promised when they were promoting this show, thats its the story about a girl who is modern and deeply rooted in her culture and that she will bring a change in her sasural.
till now whatever changes CC has made, like getting rid of Sarees and wearing Salwars etc etc , its only been for herself and not for all ladies, whatever happened to all family members being equal ?? I dont understand what the CVs are trying to convey, that Umaben's games do win partially, coz CC seems to be getting her way but the remaining ladies are still under the wings of their Saas.
so in a nutshell, the script is seriously not upto the mark.
I can see the fury of the fans of CC on this post, I hope they understand that the post isnt against the actors but against the content of the show which is being grossly over rated by its fans simply coz they love the actors.
try imagining the same show maybe with different leads other than your favourites and ask yourself if you would still appreciate the show, I guess then you will be able to get a clear and unbiased answer.
CC has a major competitor in the form of Diya Aur Baati Hum in terms of viewership. I personally hate the show DABH but unfortunately a vast majority of the TV audience love that show and its against that one that CC has to stay afloat and to do that , CC will need much more than normal romantic cliches and already seen and done saas-bahu situations.
I love Sanaya Irani to an extent that cant be explained and I watch this show only for her and will continue watching no matter where the story goes but that doesnt make me justify the poor quality of the show, infact it hurts to see her getting wasted in such a poorly written script that offers no surprises to the viewers.
