There is a word called madrasi kingdom used in the other Ashoka thread - I seriously do not know what it means. If they mean chola kingdom here, Raja Raja chola one of the greatest Kings South India ever produced won over Jakarta and Indonesia too in addition to securing almost all of South India - His son Rajendra Chola I , another great again won over Ganges and brought stones from there to build a magnificent temple in South India - All of them were much more inclusive , secular( in all senses) and never felt they were superior to any other race.
By using this word, I can sense a superiority of the said person over South Indians( Again a perceived one). All Social indicators indicate South is always ahead of North Indian states in social security and progress. Anyway, we can leave all that - It is due to good or bad politicians,
I am failing to understand this obstinate belief of a superior race to other. Akbar, Rana Pratap, Krishna deva raya, raja raja chola and Ashoka belong to me 100% and I belong to all of them. Each one had its traits (+ve and -ve) but what makes one claim that madrasi kingdoms are to be looked down upon ? 😆
I am a Tamilian, incidentally and a proud one but even more a prouder Hindustani and take great pride in Rajput history as much as chola/cheras/panidyas.
