Aw so cute!
Light brigade means lightly armed troops on horses. During a certain war of the British against the Russians, due to some miscommunication the British brigade charged at the wrong Russian troops which were well armed. British suffered many deaths of soldiers. Alfred Lord T wrote that poem to applaud the bravery and courage of the brigade (who knew death was certain yet followed the commands given to them without questions)
Rudyard K however wrote another poem to highlight how these very soldiers (and other veterans from other battles) who were once applauded for their bravery are dying of destitution in their old age. Their deeds are sung in school but the British army has stopped caring about ex soldiers
