I am unable to vote in the poll

but my view would be we need Invite only CCs.

as much as I-F would strive to be a friendly and free for all place to chat..not everyone is friends with everybody else..sometimes restricting the poeple who are allowed to talk in a CC helps control the mood as well as the purpose of the CC

I can't vote in the poll either for some reason. But my vote would be to continue invite only chat clubs. The suggestion for having a chat club for everyone and a more general one is a good idea, actually. Personally, the Chat Club is though having met people on I-F where we can generally express ourselves over various topics. Invite Only is not meant to hurt someone's feelings. It is just that it allows for there to be some order in the thread itself. For me, though my CC, I have been able to have thoughtful and insightful discussions where I am able to learn so much because I am able to read it all and know so much more. If it is discontinued then, then my I-F experience will be much more duller. It has really revolutionized my experience here more and made me appreciate this forum more. Discontinuing them will probably lead to more discontent and probably open a can of worms and may lead to more flame wars and problems for moderators to deal with.

I thinks the 'Invite Only' is a good thing, but there are some 'Invites only' CCs that may sound mean.
But 'Invite Only makes us chat amongst those who we know already, and feel comfortable to share certain things with. In normal CCs we can talk yes, but somethings we don't want others to know/read about. 😕

but I am personally FOR Invite Only cc's...as they provide a place for a group of ppl who are close to each other, or who have genuine common interests, to interact without any tension or stress.... Invite Only CC's mean less scope for arguments/problems...

maybe there should be one CC opened by Dev team where everyone can participate....but Invite Onlys should also be allowed please

But I agree with what a lot of members have said. I belong to an "Invites Only CC" (The Abusers) and the whole reason we started the CC was to prevent spamming at each other's posts. This CC was created so that a couple of close friends could chat freely without getting SPAM ALERTS/WARNINGS... it's not to offend anybody.

I thik Invite Only CC's should be kept... I know the ultimate decision is in your hands, but please take these thoughts into consideration.

I can't vote but despite that here is what I think, I am on the fence with this one because when new members come to CC they are coming looking for friends and people just to somewhere to talk, it is a bit rude saying invites only because people would just leave and not respond to a group they like, because it says invite only and it makes it harder to make friends with people that like the same stuff as you.

However, invite only is useful because an outsider entering an already establish group is great and fine but then you might not understand what is happening and the private jokes and some members may only like to discuss some things with people they feel comfortable on the forum. Plus it saves PMing friends so you have a conversation a lot easily!

I am not particulary active on any CC atm, but having CC makes it easier to talk to people without PM's and spamming on other sections of IF so either way both sides have its pro and cons so waiting for mods decision on this.

However, my vote goes to they should be allowed. Because I belong to 2 Invite Only CC's. And it was basically to talk to some friends because It was hard through PM's and there was no where else to post. And not to be rude but we want to talk to people we know and not some random people.

i dont think anyone can vote.. 😆

but i also would like to keep invite only cc's goin..
theres plenty of open cc's around also so it should not be a turn off to come to the chat club section. plus many cc's, like the one i am part of, often adds new members after they contact us to be added. so its not like we arent open to ppl!

we should keep the 'invite only' threads because i used to be a part of a forum before, where a few members LOVED to barge into perfectly normal criticism posts and made it seem like we were 'bashing' the show, and in return, insulted us for having no lives and so fourth! it created a big havoc in the forum and a few of us members felt like we werent able to have the healthy discussions that we wanted, hence we moved into the chat clubs and made an 'invite only' thread so that people with common interests could share their opinions freely! we have welcomed many new members with open arms to our CC and will continue to do so!

i appologize on behalf of my CC to any new members that felt left out because of these signs, beacuse they arent meant to make them feel like 'outsiders' at all! 😃

i think the cc doesnt keep invities only as new members then might get scared and wont come in the particular thread as that will be just fror invities.... i hink it should allowed for every one...
