Lavanya you can be sure about Chandra Bana Sati Savitri!

It is not even Part 1!

It will be the Sati Savitri Last Part!

You know one thing in common between Sati Savitri and Chandra?

Both of them will not spare their spouses even for the sake of Yamraj, the God of Death!

Mr. Yamraj could as well retire and take rest!

Nandini is not dying!

Nand did not die again!

Dadi is not anywhere near that mark!

Moora pretty far off from that mark!

Chaaya still conveniently in coma and not going anywhere just like Malay!

Bhadrasal not dead still in captivity!

Sunanda being a Stree will not be executed and just be imprisoned by Chandra!

So having nothing to do, Mr Yamraj is just going to lug off the laawaris Roopa's Atma along with him!

Seeing the kind of character Roopa is, I wouldn't be surprised if Mr. Yamraj decides to just let loose the Bhatki Atma of Roopa on earth on Chandra and Nandini instead of taking her along with him!

Moral: We come to earth with empty hands and go from earth with empty hands!

This occasionally holds good for gods in TV shows as well!

Lavanya,

It might well be so, not quite up to the mazhar scene, that is . Just as the scene at the end of the Teej vrat was not quite as strong as the Shakespearian Nights sequence. But you are not allowing for the very different circumstances.

Jalal was drowning in guilt, and rightly so, and that was the key element driving and energising his reactions. He could not afford to let her die because he would then never be able to live with himself.

Here, Chandra feels no guilt, only the fear of loss of his love. It is desperation too, but of a different kind. And Nandini is not Jodha, she is full of regret for what she has done and what she has failed to do. Jodha never acknowledged even the bare possibility that she could ever be wrong.

So now when they show her in the shadowy world between life and death, she will not be holding forth, a la Jodha, about how she had done her duty and now she wanted to go and be at peace. Nandini will never want to leave Chandra, and she will fight tooth and nail against the Grim Reaper. She will fight alongside Chandra, not against him.

So it will be a very different scene in both conception and execution , Let us see how it turns out. Rajat will not fail, I am sure of that.

I see no reason for the kind of premature, knee jerk pessimism you project. How can anyone display such certitude about something one has not seen yet? This is what I do not like. I loved that Teej scene as much as I loved Shakespearian Heights. It was different, that was all. As this will be.

As for Nandini surviving all that, it is a combination of luck - the dagger having missed the vital organs, and of sheer will power. See my response to Amina on, I think, page 8. Also, Nandini wants to get back with Chandra, and the sheer strength of will can at times achieve near miracles. Another of these lies ahead.

QUOTE=Sabdabhala]NANDINI SURE HAS A SOLID CONSTITUTION

ALL THOSE STABS, AND SHE WAS STILL ALIVE TO WITHSTAND THE FALL AND THE HANGING ON THE TREE

😆

POOR ROOPA DIED SOON AFTER 😉. I KNOW NAND WAS A SAVAGE FATHER TO HER, BUT SUNANDA WAS NO LESS, USING HER FOR REVENGE AND GIVING HER THE MOST HORRIBLE UPBRINGING.

THERE WAS HINT OF REMORSE ON CHANDRA'S FACE WHEN SHE DIES, WHICH WAS NICE TO SEE

SO FOR THE REMAINING WEEK WE HAVE CHANDRA BANA SAVITRI PART 1 😆 AND NANDINI REVIVAL

FROM THE GOINGS ON FOR THE PAST TWO EPISODES, I AM INCLINED TO THINK THAT CHANDRA'S RONA DHONA ET AL IS GOING TO BE NOWHERE NEAR JALAL'S EPIC MAZAAR SCENE

My dear Shailaja,

A very fair, balanced, and unsentimental take on the passing of Roopa. My felicitations!

Yes, Chandra and Roopa had very different mentors, but that was not all of it. I think the core of Roopa had a basic defect in the wiring. Nothing could have set that right. That is why she has no moral compass at all, nor anything she will not do.

I was wondering whose name she was struggling to bring out. Sunanda's? As such a big player?

So thank heavens for the small mercies, Nandini does not have a memory loss, Roopa is dead, Nandini is just oscillating between life and death. Nand escapes😡😡😡

As for Roopa's end, though a bit sad, I am not sorry for her. She was forsaken and cast out at the time of birth. She had a horrible upbringing. Granted! But she had the opportunity to make the choices and set every wrong thing done to her right. But she chose the wrong path and the wrong people for her revenge. She caused pain and sorrow to them. She just got back what she gave.

If we analyze, Chandra also had a very sad childhood, he was bereft of his original identity, his family, his kingdom, his royalty, but he always made the right choices unlike Roopa. That's why he got back everything he had lost to time and destiny.

But then Chandra had Chanakya to lead him while Roopa had Sunanda. I guess that made the difference.

No, not entirely. No guru can make of you something the seeds of which are not already in you, whether good or bad. And Roopa, like Nandini, had awful genes.

What continually astonishes me is how differently Nandini, despite sharing the same genes, and not a particulary good upbringing, has turned out.

Life is really unfair sometimes. But that is how it is. Sometimes, a promising young life is spent in pretty futile and dangerous pursuits and prospects, and finally ends up going waste despite the fact that it could have been used better. Roopa's is one such life. Neither did her caregiver Sunanda nor she herself take proper charge of it. And it finally came to nothing!

My dear Aish,

Yes of course, I like to be called Aunty. So that is fine!

This is one of the most delightful, heart-warming responses that I have ever received to any post of mine. Thank you! You made my, not day, but very early morning, for it is 12:22! It is, nowadays. a considerable effort for me to do these posts because of my RA, but a reader like you makes it all more than worthwhile.

I am tired and so are my fingers, and I am going to bed, but I will come back here tomorrow morning to complete this response. So do check it out once more tomorrow.

For now, I will only say that I agree with your final para in toto. When Nandini is twitching and tossing on the bed. Chandra looks like a lost, frightened little boy. There is not the slightest trace of Jalal in him. And why should there be? As I have discussed in my response above to Lavanya, the two situations are poles apart. And Rajat, being not just an instinctive performer but a very intelligent one, will handle this Chandra in a standalone fashion, not as an adaptation of Jalal.

Hello Aunty (I presume you prefer aunty😳')

What an amazing piece of writing it is aunty...amazing in bold. Whoever is currently holding the pen for CN...clearly doesn't deserve such master piece of an analysis for his work. But then Rajat and shweta as Chandra and nandini clearly do.

The fact that your analysis begins with the high (highest probably) point of their relationship ...made me realize the worth of all those step taken to reach there . We fret, why Chandra did this, why didn't nandini did that , and what not. But look whatever they did for whatsoever reason culminated in such a tender, sweet , affectionate sequence. (Without being saccharine sweet)

As much as I enjoy chandini,...I enjoyed your piece of your work. EQUALLY. Should have said more than the scenes...but aunty there's rajat on screen . Can't help...have endured a lot of "no idea what it is" in the name of epic romance for this man. Now I'm having a gala time.😆

Nothing more to add from my side...you said it all, and that too in a remarkable way. I'm here just to appreciate this painstakingly crafted piece. Pressing just a like and turning away was making me guilty conscious.

All I would like to add from my side is:-

There's a sher by hazrat Momin..."Tum mere paas hote ho, Goya koi dusra nahin hota"

Sacrilege it would be, yet for the sake of explanation if I write the same lines as

You are near-me/by my side.
When no one else is.

That's chandini for me...I'm very possessive when it comes to these couplets...these are supposed to be my romantic fantasy. 😆But now I can't help it...every time chandini's on screen, the couplet is the only thing that comes to my mind. They compel me to do so...that's chandini, or say rajat and shweta.

Seems like separation is on the cards (it should be rather, i badly want them to seprate ...pardon for my sadistic pleasures).but I'm content with whatever has being shown . It was/is no doubt a wonderful experience but more than that they have managed to strike me in a way ummm how do I put it...lemme try

You know when a lovebird couple seeks shelter in your house or it's premises...hunting for a safe place most of the time ending up at the ventilator.of any of the rooms...gradually building a nest out of all the hays and straws painfully collected..laying eggs...guarding it. And you just observe them maintaining a safe distance not daring to switch on the fan...and enduring all the heat, sweat and sticky humidity ...hoping the ordeal will end soon, the eggs would hatch and the baby bird wil soon take his first flight...still they grow on you...so much that you feel a void when they leave. CHandini touches me in the same way. I hope I'm making sense.😆

This is the most sensitive and touching takes on this subject that I have had the pleasure of reading. Thank you for it !

I'm very very very thankful to rajat and shweta for giving me chandini. Especially shweta for all her professionalism and eagerness to learn. My past outing experience has been very bitter ...and still the taste lingers in my mouth. A bland actress with no aspiration to grow...can turn a charterer, however well crafted, to one dimensional that too, to what extent, if anyone is interested to know...watch JA.

That would be all from my side aunty..have been ranting for long.😆 This is a lovely thread...I'm reading everyone's take and thoroughly enjoying.😳

P.S. let me know if I'm trespassing.😳

P.P.S My comments on JA. Let me know if you are not okay with it. I'll edit it. Though I wasn't bashing...that's just plain opinion.😳

No need. I do not encourage it, but none of the young people here pays attention to my strictures, so why should you? And I agree with you about the lady in question.

Edit add: Just managed to catch the last five minutes of the episode. I did not even for a fraction of second felt that it's a rerun of JA.. I know many would not agree...already I can see many posts claiming it to be inspired by JA. But to me it didn't seemed so. Such sequences takes place in every tele series of indian TV. But Rajat's chandra did not allowed me to recollect anyone of them..not even his own Jalal. And also the director...who kept chandra's action and reaction totally different from Jalal. Rajat from the point where nandini spits blood to the precap was marvelous to me...it was very rajat and very chandra. Today I'm satisfied with chandini...don't know about tomorrows ganga jamuma from chandra's khoobsurat nayan...wish some of the ladies drowns in that😆. Lets see how good of a savitri chandra can be...he already slayed a meerabai😆

You think Roopa will be resurrected, my pet? Somehow, after seeing how Chandra closed her eyes, I do not feel so. I hope I am correct, for we have had enough of this sad, distorted character. I feel very sorry for her, as I wrote in my first take on her some weeks back, but she has reached her expiry date.

As for the mystery plotter whose name Roopa, in the time-honoured cinematic tradition, failed to reveal before she popped off, I am just as puzzled as you are. But that bit reinforced my conviction that Roopa has passed on, really and truly. For that is an ironclad convention, a character kicking the bucket just milliseconds before revealing a crucial secret!😉

Nand, on the other hand, seems to have survived. His lamentation scene was a total flop, and painful to the eyes and ears alike!😡

Yes shaillu you said it all but going by the serial how old is nandani and rupa maybe lets say thirteeen fourteen, merely a child ,su bought her up with revenge hate deceit and all things bad now that is one evil step mother so yes upbringing does matter but this girl had non and just to die from the who gives you birth in the most brutal way
If it is upbringing than nandani was surrounded by most evil people including parents both yet she turned out fine
Today's episode is i don't want to see twice
That scene with nand in the end remids me of a scene from dilip kumar film naya duar Aunty ? I watched a long time ago so maybe the name of the fil might be wrong

Timelines are all messed up Amina. When we began CN it was eight years difference between Chandra and Nandini, by the time of her fifth birthday, it got reduced to 5 years difference, now it is only 3 years difference by the time of their marriage. Scientifically impossible but anything is possible on a TV show. So according to the present ages, we have to assume that Nandini and Roopa are around 17 years or 18 years old while Chandra is around 21 or 20 years old. That is old enough to realize what is right and what is wrong, who is good and bad. Roopa is wrong no attenuation for that according to me but I feel sad at the way her entire life went waste. She doesn't have a single redeeming feature at least as far as I am concerned except that she was forsaken as a child and had a bad upbringing,
