Tripti ki bachchi,

If it was not that you missed becoming my bahu by sheer chance, I would have taken a stout slipper to you, you little wretch, for turning up in this cocky manner after ages, and having the ruddy cheek to tell me not to go away! 😉But then you never lacked for chutzpah!🤗

Now that you are here, and Alakh as well, plus Sandhya, do try and revive the Chipmunk Gang! And do watch the episodes, beginning with this one, for suitable material for your nutty posts. I still remember how you ended up with this bizarre id. Those were marvellous days!

I have become an old crock, child, but more of that later.

A massive Hello, aunty!!! I am Tripti if you remember me. I remember the JA days so, so fondly! 🤗

So glad to see you after so long here! I wasn't interested in this show even for Rajat, but who has intrigued me is the FL- Shweta Prasad. Very very good actor. I haven't yet watched any episode, I just come here to read your eloquent & detailed analysis-- The episodes could not be better. <3

Hope you're doing well, aunty, and I hope to see you here more. Pls don't leave this
Time.

Kavya my dear, you HAVE to stop posting these triple deckers, and actually comment on something in the episode or the post. Try it the next time, there is a good girl!

No, no, no! Unless you are another Couch_Potato altogether, we know each other perfectly well from 2013, and I am sure you have read my Jodha Akbar posts. Why, I had cited one of your posts in one of mine, with an attribution to you, and you had posted a thank you note to me about that! I think it was around the Ruqaiya miscarriage track. I will try and dig that up tomorrow if I can.

Anyhow, I am flattered by the extravagant praise that you have lavished on this post. Thank you! I am delighted to have you back, and I hope that you will stay with me for as long as I am here.

You know I read just a bit of the analysis yesterday and hit Like because it made me want to watch the episode first so I could truly soak in everything you were saying. And now I have and I just want to drown in it. I can't believe I have never come across your posts before but I did start JA late and then left it soon after. That now seems unfortunate. I bet you had been adding chaar chand to the show with your daily analysis.

Right now I am too in awe of your style, new to it as I am to add anything fruitful to all that you have so eloquently put. I just want to say that this right here:

this won me over, completely. It's something I will turn to time and again and perhaps even use as fanfic fodder.

Thank you and I look forward to reading your take on the show daily now.

I am glad you liked this episode as much as I did. One should never read too many threads. I don't.

What a beautiful and perceptive review!👏 I agree with all that you have said here in toto, so I do not need to comment on it, for which my poor fingers must be duly grateful to you!😉

I loved it that you completely share my take on young Chandra's character, including my assessment of his mountain climbing derring do (I have not seen Bahubali) and what it says about him and about what he will become. The overlap is almost total!

His mother is a closet masochist, and she unloads all of that on the poor kid.

Your take on Nandini is spot on, and I too do not think she will do a Jodha on us. But it is your perception of what drives Avantika that is the most interesting, and accurate. There was more of this today, but Nemesis is grinding her to dust.

As for your closing para, agar yeh sach ho jai, to aapke muh mein ghee shakkar!

I have seen Bahubali aunty. What I inferred from that scene there and this scene here are very different. In the movie, the intention of the maker was to show first of all the brave, reckless, adventurous daredevil spirit of his protagonist, and of course his well-toned muscles, but above all it shows the instinctive curiosity and his fascination for the unknown which lies beyond the small world he has known all along.

Here, Chandroo is not doing it just for the heck of it. He has an aim and goal in his mind, the honey comb, and he is working towards it taking all the necessary steps and also precautions in a preplanned and methodical manner. He wants to make his mother happy by bringing her something solid and constructive. It is not as though he is doing it because he is bored, or for the heck of it, or because he had a bet with his friends.

His reasons for doing it are neither silly nor frivolous. He knows what he is doing, why he is doing it. He also has a clear cut idea of how he is going to do it. He has a definite action plan in place. There are clear cut differences in the execution of the mountain climbing scene here and in Bahubali. The motivations of both the characters are very different and how they go about doing it. That's my take on both these scenes!

Thank you so much, my dear Ankit.

I never read too many threads, so I am never bothered about what others say. You and I are completely in the right about young Chandra, and that is what counts!

As for Chanakya, I would have wanted Manish Wadhwa seeing that Chandraprakash Dwivedi's take - I have that full 47 episode Chanakya set on 8 DVDs - would not work in this kind of show. But after watching Manoj Kolhatkar today, I think we will soon get used to him. He is perfectly competent, if not inspired. I think they will show the shapath properly; he is going to Magadha and will seek Padmanand's help - not Dhananand's of course - and will get turned down brutally. The shapath will follow that.

Great analysis
Many were saying that the dialogue of Young Chandra was very filmy
But I also felt it not filmy but quite natural as if you watch your mother beaten but she in reply respect him coz he is his pati and she loves him, one can get the feeling that love make people weak
The thing I didn't like was distruction of history
They showed Nandini as daughter of Padamanand while actually she was his granddaughter
I don't think they will show Chanakya PRATIGYA here properly
Now as far as the character of chanakya and it's portrayal is concerned
I loved Dr C Diwedi (watched recently on yt) Manish Wadhwa and Manoj Joshi and I have a great sense that Manoj will do a decent job as Chanakya
If not good atleast he will surely match the standard set by these legends (it's my opinion )
Chanakya is one of the most intense and of grey shaded historical character and I am waiting how his character shapes up in this show

It's not only about the character but also the acting I guess. Rajat was a good actor and so was Sid. This little guy isn't. That's why it's hard to appreciate the character. Plus CG so far is repeating the same dialogue again and agaian. Nothing much to appreciate. Today's scene could be interesting if only the acting was good. 😕

MDS,

Je suis tout a fait d'accord avec vous, sauf a propos du dernier para. You never saw an 8 year old Jalal in JA, and Rajat came on at the end of the first episode itself. CAS, perhaps yes, but then I think you are still suffering from Siddharth-related withdrawal symptoms!😉 Siddharth was shown as Vanraj at about 14, and then he is far more bubbly than this kid.

Aunty: 🤣 I forget that you're one of the very few who understands me quite well! I shall try controlling the cheekiness, but I cannot promise a thing! 😉 🤗

I watched today. The young CDM was the young prince in Maharana Pratap, and he's quite stilted here, as he was there. Young Nandini is going to grow up worshipping her father, not knowing what an evil monster he is. It will take getting married to her arch-enemy & leaving her illusory world, to realise just what he was.

Isn't the actress playing Mura quite famous? What has happened to her? Her acting is quite horrid & "closet masochist" is absolutely spot-on. It's terrifying how many abused women display Stockholm Syndrome, her constant Lamentations on her prem for her husband make me want to club over her head!!! If not for herself,
How would exposing her child to such a toxic atmosphere do him any good! The first thing she should've done should've been to remove herself & her son from such a house. But then where would this Ekta Kapoor drama be.

None of the actors are good till now, all I am waiting for is Rajat & more than him, Shweta, tbh. Good on Ekta for giving her a chance with this show after the scandal she was involved in, seeing the mediocre actors she casts in her shows, she should be honoured to have a National Award winning actress deign to be on her show, lol. Sticking around for her, aunty!

Sandhyaaa! 🤗 I've been around in the Bw section a lot but I hardly watch Hindi shows except CN now which I've begun from today. Until Tokas or Prasad are in the picture I cannot promise how sincerely I'll watch anyway. Hence we havent met!! But how have you been?! Where have you been?!

😆 😆 Oh those crazy posts I made!! Those were the days!!! I miss them so much. Those days won't ever come back.

🤗 Lash, I had sent you a PM a long long time ago.

Ah Miss Marple's mystery case where Verity is murdered.
Yes, I did read that. One superb novel by a superb writer.
Though my favourite still remains "And Then There were None" by Agatha Christie.

Niki dear, thanks a million not just for reading this and liking it so much, but especially for understanding what I had written about the logic behind Chandra's distaste for prem. Yes, and even more so for appreciating the reference to Nemesis too! Have you read the Agatha Christie book of that name? It is truly frightening.

Omg. Oh. My. God. You're right! That did happen, eons ago it seems. You have an enviable memory maam. I remember being taken completely by surprise at that citing ages ago. However, for the life of me, I can't remember what it was about now. But yaay! That sure does make me feel heaps better. I don't feel like a complete stranger anymore, just more like a wanderer that's stumbled onto a town that's changed with time. :)

Also, umm, I have this weird tendency to fangirl, sometimes a lot. I hope that won't put you off. I'll definitely try to stick around longer with this show than I did with JA and I am looking forward to be being a regular on your posts too! :)

Dearest Shymala aunty,
Loved all 3 of your posts (and have hit like too😃) but I must say that your writing is the saving grace of Ek's take on GGM's origins and these episodes, no matter whether researched or not, woven around RT or not. The rushed coverage of this part perhaps shows how eager Ek is to reach adult CGM, and I for one absolutely do not mind that she is since the quality of performances and content is as 'apparent' as any beauty 😉

Keeping firmly in mind both your mandates, this much should suffice! 😉

Just one question -

Why a napit and why this particular one? Where would the queen meet him in the first place to fall (figuratively and metaphorically 😛 ) for him? ( I hope I am not giving EK any ideas for flashback tracks!)

Warmest Regards

Ashwinee
